Didn't RVP have to bring in his own specialised physio team to work on him?

I think his injury problems lessened after that. Makes you wonder what the Arsenal medical team are up?

they need to fire Dr. Zed.

a lot of oranje's big names confide in the same physio (team), iirc. i think he's been doing that for years now.

What I want to happen is someone to replace Diaby brought in, someone with a physical presence in the midfield since I feel it's no coincidence that our poor offensive form started after the Chelsea game where he got injured.

Secondly shift Cazorla to the wing and play Wilshere at no 10 behind the striker.

Thirdly. By an attacking, ball playing striker. Someone like Benzema, Cavani etc... Not a Giroud or Llorente.

We do the above things we will easily finish in top 4

D)None of the above, injured players returning are like new signings.
Has anyone been in the funny pics thread recently?

They used to be quite good but now there's one poster just making the whole thing unreadable sadly

I know the one you mean.

Lol

I was half-hopeful it would stop now we're on to a new thread, but all the BFF schtick has just been replaced by references to it.

Here's a blog which details how much money Arsenal spend in wages. The blogger in question has come to the conclusion that Arsenal are underperforming because they're paying out huge wages to mediocre players rather than using that money to entice star names.

According to this blog Andre Santos is on £60,000 per week.

Arshavin (who rarely starts) is on £78,000 per week

Diaby (a permanent sick note) is on £60,000 per week.

Here's the rest of the list

Hell, we do those things and we have a shot at the title. Won't happen though... think of how much money that would cost. A quality striker like Cavani will be 40m easy. Never going to happen.

Agree that the priority needs to be on a creative, physical presence in midfield (someone like Vidal would be perfect. Quality passer, goal threat, physical player, pretty dirty, the complete midfielder) first to free up Cazorla/Wilshere... I'm not sure if Wilshere is ready to play behind the striker, but I'd definitely give him or Arshavin a chance to play there in the mean time because he's not being best utilized when he's playing alongside Arteta (who occupies his old role anyways) and Cazorla isn't doing the job.

If we can get back to creating chances, Giroud or Gervinho or whoever we stick up front will score (even if they're not particularly efficient)

This is nothing new. Arsenal hand out massive contracts to players that haven't earned it (Denilson 50k, Bendtner 50k, Djouru 50k, etc.). It's an issue (and makes selling the deadwood a big issue), but it's not the main problem I think. It's true that we overspend on mediocre players rather than spend big on proven quantities, but Wenger likes to gamble. Just need a good mix between the two.

It is another reason why 100k to Walcott would be a big fucking mistake though.

Surprised Podolski's the top earner though, especially when Wenger is so keen on playing him out of position. And I'm sure Arshavin is still on his original contract from 09, so 78k for one of the top performers at Euro 2008 (who was, once upon a time, really fucking good) makes a lot of sense. Wenger playing him out on the wing then eventually dropping him... does not.

Wenger demands answers from Santos over RVP shirt hunt
Arsene Wenger has demanded answers from Andre Santos over the defender’s incredible half-time shirt swap with Robin van Persie.

Wenger was left stunned when the Brazilian strolled into the dressing room with the Manchester United striker’s shirt over his shoulder.

Angry Arsenal fans have savaged the left-back for an action they believe shamed him and the club.

Santos was caught on TV taking Van Persie’s top as he and the former Arsenal striker walked towards the tunnel at the break during the Gunners’ Premier League defeat at Old Trafford.

Mirror Sport understands Wenger, who had not seen the TV pictures beforehand, spoke to Santos in the dressing room at half-time.

The Arsenal boss demanded to know why Santos accepted the shirt and Wenger is understood to have left the Brazilian in no doubt as to how unhappy he was at the gesture.

Van Persie quit Arsenal for United in a £24million deal this summer after casting doubt on the Gunners’ ambition.

The Dutchman had already scored the early goal with which United had led at the break. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men went on to win the match 2-1.

Match of the Day pundits Alan Shearer and Alan Hansen, slammed Santos.

Hansen said: “I have never seen this in my life before. The guy has left the football club, he has just scored against you, and at half time you walk off the pitch and get his shirt.

Shearer added: “For me as an Arsenal fan sitting in the stand I am thinking: ‘What on earth is going on here?’”

Wenger is expected to elaborate on his feelings about the incident when he holds a press conference ahead of the club’s Champions League tie against Schalke later today.
It isn't enough that he's shit, is it?

Wait, Shearer is an Arsenal fan?

He admits he is making them up..." the below update should be a little more accurate an estimate"

The shirt thing is really nothing. Let it go. The real topic of conversation should be why 1) Wenger signed him in the first place 2) Why he never bought a replacement this summer and 3) Whether or not he will. If Santos actually defended well for a game, I could care less who he swaps shirts with at half time.

His estimates won't be far from the truth. Cesc was highest earner at about £90k when he was at the club. For the wage bill to add up it must mean the other squad players are earning not much less.

Arsenal guy with inside knowledge on twitter are saying they are more than a little off.

Well then somebody at the club is earning alot more than they probably should. Nobody at Arsenal earns more than £120k/week.

A £150m wage bill is quite big especially when you consider there are no mega earners, manager aside.
