Man the Libertadores match last night was amazing

I didnt think Dihno and Co. were going to make it, Olimpia had an excellent tournament. Salgueiro (Olimpia's 10) did a tremendous job running, pressing up and down. Ferreyra (Olimpia's 9) was the opposite, slow, missed 2 chances because he chose to dive and not continue the play.

Not sure if the 5-4-1 that Almeida lined up was the best option, most of the game Olimpia played on his half. Now Cuca on the other hand saw this as an opportunity to fill the midfield with fast players, 4-2-3-1 with Tardelli and Bernard wide. This Bernard kid is going to be something, I like him, he has pace, he is tecnically gifted, the only thing he needs is strength, he is a mix of the old school Saviola and Juninho Paulista.

Great game, epic final.

"Papiss Cisse and Newcastle have reached an agreement that will see the Senegal striker wear the club's Wonga logo on his shirt despite his religious beliefs.

"Cisse, a Muslim, had previously pulled out of Newcastle's pre-season tour after telling the club he was not prepared to promote the money lending company.

"However, after a week of talks, both sides are satisfied with the outcome and Cisse is now available to play for Newcastle once again.

"Cisse has been training on his own while his team-mates have been on tour in Portugal but now he is expected to immediately rejoin the first team squad. "

Lol, Papiss.

Chalobah hits the post with a weak placed shot from the edge of the area. A minute later, Wallace (who has otherwise been rash in his tackling and given away some dodgy free-kicks) charges forward and hits a thunderbolt, which comes back off the other post. Plenty of Chelsea pressure now.

...and Ramires now scores for 2-0, Hazard lobs a cross into the box, Bertrand miscontrols with his head, the ball falls for Ramires who powers it into the roof of the net.

Then a miracle should have happened :P

Not really. He was sold for £8m. A fee most premier league sides are able to fork out.

If Chelsea hadn't have gone in for him, with all they can offer him and their strong ties to Vitesse, he could have easily ended up at the likes of Villa or Norwich.

Nope, he would have ended up at Ajax or PSV. He wanted a step up to the top of our own league in the first place. He wasn't even convinced by Chelsea at first because he was worried about getting his time on the field. Some how they comforted him that he will get there so he went.

It's too bad Vitesse are thinking so highly of them selves that they call us competitors now, that's the main reason we had such a hard time buying him :/

You don't know that, Villa pays twice the amount of salary Ajax and PSV do.
And at a club like Villa he would be a starter for sure.

Also, who doesn't want to play in Claret & Blue?

Yeah. He needs a permit which he can't get yet :(

I think he would have gone on loan regardless.

We already have Azpilicueta, Ivanovic and Kalas at RB. Of course, the latter two can play CB as well which should have more depth this season anyway with Terry hopefully injury free and Luiz not having to play DM. I've heard that Omeruo might be staying as well.

Hazard wastes an easy opportunity for 4-0, played through one-on-one by Moses, he decides to try and go 'round the keeper instead of finishing, takes it too far wide and the keeper claims it, albeit at the cost of his own injury.

Van Ginkel is an ambitious player and he said that in the press that he's eager to go to a title competitor in the Eredivisie. He had the same plans as Maher for that matter. But because Vitesse felt like they would strenghten a direct competitor they ignored any business from our side. We even had a bid prepared for eight million.

True that, but Villa is a sleeping giant man! ;-)

Chelsea add a fourth on the verge of half time, Bertrand takes an inswinging attacking free kick, Cahill flicks on and Terry heads in.

Half-time now. Positive half, Indonesia have some skilful players up front but have been hopeless at the back.

Our XI is still way stronger than them.

Hell, we can take them with our B team:

--------Matri - Vucinic---------------
PDC - Pogba - Marrone - Padoin/Asamoah - Pepe/Isla
--Peluso - Ogbonna - Caceres
----------------Storari----------

Yogurt, get imgur rehoster extension for chrome or firefox, will do it with one click for you.

McEachran on for the second half please.

Really hope we can find a PL club where he can get regular playing time.

I doubt he will ever make it at Chelsea, no matter how much the supporters hype him up.
