There's no excuse. Valencia was the only real challenge we had left and we should have smashed them and won even then since we were fielding some of our best players in Bernabeu. No fucking excuses plug.

Valencia is inexcusable, but after that one you could tell they all gave up.

Having this debate is pointless if we take home the CL. It's all that matters.

Go Atletco... Don't know why any neutral can root Barca or Real over them... The last team to win la Liga outside Barca or Real was Valencia 10 years ago

New to gaf, happy to see there is a thread dedicated to the beautiful game. With that being said I'm a big time newcastle united supporter, and I couldn't be happier that this season is over. This team should be in Europe as they were sitting at 6th halfway through the campaign, but selling Yohan Cabaye without reinvesting at all proved disastrous. I think after 2 transfer windows without a signing there will be complete roster turnover coming soon

Alright lads. I won't be posting much for the next while.

Just learned that my aunt needs open heart surgery and she's getting it sometime in the next week. She has lupus which caused her to stroke about 12 years ago and her heart has gotten worse since then. I don't know the exact specifics but apparently one of the valves to her heart is badly damaged and blood flow compromised. None of our family told the kids (me and my cousins) because they didn't want us to worry. For the next few weeks we'll be taking turns to visit her so I won't be posting.

So congrats to the City posters, commiserations to the Pool posters (even that scoundrel Morsel) and Forza Atleti.

Fair play though, did well when he came on today.

As for Mascherano, I'd absolutely take him back at a decent price. Only thing is that I'd feel a bit unambitious if we went for him whilst there are players like Javi Martinez who could be available.

I wouldn't have cared if we hadn't won CDR. We had the best chance of winning the treble and we screwed it up horribly. How can you just disregard like nothing you slob.

If we win CL we'll be happy, couple of days later we're gonna think "But hey....what if we would have won the four last games we had? How come our team, with the players we have at our disposal, couldn't win against weaker opponents? How could we screw up in such a crucial period in the league?"

How often do you have the chance of winning the treble? Not very often.

You can't consider any season where you don't win the CL a great season. All these clubs spend far too much money to consider anything less than a CL great.
