Football Thread 2013/14 |OT6| Relentless gobbrish

I like him, don't get me wrong. But he's got to shake it up sometimes. After about 35 minutes it became clear we'd have to score from within the 6 yard area, potshots were not getting through the keeper.

Yeah, he definitely takes too many shots. I thought a big part of the problem today was Rose not playing. It limits the effectiveness of Sigurdsson when he can't give the ball to the wingback or expect any runs behind him.

So I haven't seen a second of the game.

All I've seen is the score. And a picture of Michael Carrick looking confused.

Why do you hurt me so, Manchester.

When I get home I have to wank lest my tears create a fog around my visage, I shan't be able to see when Ashley 'Eternal Cunt' Young does a swan dive from the top of the Mont St Michel.

Never thought I'd see the day when Danny Rose is one of our most important players, zero width on the left today (and not much more on the right).

It's always been a problem with Naughton there. If their right back had bothered to get forward then they would have caused us more problems.

Hopefully when Chiriches has bedded in Jan can cover LB if necessary, he may lack pace but he's much, much better than the right footed Naughton in that position.

I'm listening to a Norwegian commentator in the Madrid game and it's even worse than a Swedish one. I can only imagine how a Danish commentator would sound like.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

Naughton's a problem going both directions. He's a silly sausage who faffs around in our half but doesn't have the guile to dribble out or draw an easy foul like BAE used to. We badly need a specialist LB in January.

Balls to Chiriches, we just need Younes. If he'd been fit today then Jan would have played LB.

From earlier today:
Things I'd love to see today:
- Fernandinho showing signs of getting used to the pace of PL
- Navas, run fast, I've seen it on Youtube
- Nasri continuing his good form
- Central midfield not being overrun completely
- Yaya not deciding to take a day off

I'm not gonna ask Dzeko to not miss a sitter because it defeats the Law Of Dzeko. And hopefully Jovetic and Negredo will get their chance as subs today.

I've really been worried about CM all week, but today Pellegrini tried something new. Fernandinho played really defensively, almost man-marking Rooney. Yaya then was up almost alone against Felliani and Carrick, but since they both backed down most of the match it all worked very nice. Really well done from those two.

Navas ran fast, Nasri kept his great form, Yaya didn't take a day off (next week maybe) and Fernandinho did his job well. Thought Negredo was a fantastic choice by Pellegrini, really doubt Dzeko would've been able to pull those moves off.

Wait, Falcons are +2.5? What the hell? Miami have had a good start but surely not enough to give the Falcons anything.

I know it's Cray. The Falcons have been poor but still, it's miami.

Also great story on my Facebook. Friend of mine

Holy shit Geoff Shreeves is heartless, and he makes it sound like he's asking "So what time did you pick up the kids this morning" but he's asking "How horrible is it to lose this derby game?"

lol terrible.

I'm hoping Evans and Jones might get some games as centre back in the near future. Rio is winding down.

And give Kagawa and Pea some games, please please please.

There is alot for us to think about after today's game and making changes to the line up has to be high on the agenda...but the fact that so many of our players just weren't working hard is really depressing. It's the absolute minimum, players need to be tracking runs.

I don't think Kaboul will play two games in a week, although having said that AVB suggested he might change the whole side for Tuesday. Maybe he sits that out and Kaboul plays against Chelsea next week. I don't really want to see Vertonghen at left back any more. It disrupts the back four too much.

If you're not going to play Chicharito then why not sell him? Kid is 25 entering his prime. Let him go to an Italian or Spanish club. They spent pennies on him so it would be a fantastic ROI.
