Essien arriving at pre-season in style. Driven by Eva.

Incredible.

The only thing holding Arsenal back is their inability to push deals over the line. We target the right players, scouting is good, Wenger is excellent as a team manager throughout the season but Wenger should give the okay to pursue a player and then take a hands off while someone competent completes the deal.

When David Dein was in charge he pushed through deals and we got our targets. Now we have Wenger delaying over 2-3mil and there are several examples of this.

Arsenal solve this issue, which they won't, and we will be on the same level as Man City, Chelsea and United once again but if Wenger, Dick Law and co continue to negotiate the way that currently do we will stay a top 4 club and nothing more.
I'm not confident that we do target the right players anymore.

The amount of chaff brought in over the past decade can't be excused by limited funds.

Those players were a product of our budget. Cazorla, Monreal and the players we are getting rid off show that things are heading in the right direction with the exception of completing deals. Mata for example targeted by us, pursed heavily, lost because of an idiot in the back room penny pinching.

Many examples of correct players targeted. Gervinho for example is being pushed out of the club,

Do Milan have the most consistently nice shirts in football?

There's never any fucking about with them. Every new kit of theirs looks like a Milan shirt.

Good, but very daunting. I can't complain, it's tiresome waking up early, and it's a completely new field so I've got a lot to learn, but when I put it into perspective it's a fucking sweet job to be doing at my age.

Got those cards on my desk ready for a heavy night this week, when I come in from work sweating from the tube, it's 7pm, and I just need some hot fucking chicken.

I'm working in Sony HQ on Friday at an event that will include the first playable PS4 in Europe.

PS Access had an event where they let the press play PS4 games, is that one for general public?

When did Nike start trying?

I think that the club's recent activity has given me huge hope that the same mistakes won't be repeated, but I'm not as confident as I've been in the past Lightning. I think you're completely right about the club's negotiating style being self destructive, though. At some point you have to say "fuck it" and pay the goddamn asking price.

We could have had Mata, Ronaldo, and God knows who else because of it.

The lack of faith in Carlo Ancelotti disturbs me. we haven't even played our first preseason match yet. I do not want Madrid to waste money on strikers, that area is of least concern. midfield is and should be our priority right now. I want to upgrade from Khedira ffs :\.

This is hilarious coming from you, you've done nothing but shit on Ancelotti once the rumors started popping up about him being the next Real Madrid manager and now that he is the manager you talk about "lack of faith"?

Edit: fuck resizing, look at thaaat omg!

As I said, historically Arsenal is better. As of now, PSG is a pretty good side and could probably beat most of PL teams, including Arsenal.

Beautiful kits.

I have last seasons with Balotelli on, Adidas kits are SO comfy compared to Nike.

Those AC milan kits are quite tasty, not too keen on the gold one myself.

What is the contender for worst kit of the season? The Spurs away shirt is pretty naf.

This is why we brought in Baldini. He has experience and contacts that Levy doesn't have. DL drives a hard bargain but he doesn't always push the boat out when there's competition for a player. That we bagged Paulinho is very promising.

Arsenal could use someone to operate between Gazidis and Wenger when it comes to player recruitment.

I wish we had an Eva.

All I've got to look at in Arsenal training photos/videos is Wenger in a pair of naughty shorts.

Liverpool wins I think.

It's not even close.

Viva, Fady & Linius. Get on my 6 and keep your eyes peeled for tangoes.

I will not fail you.

Fady, Viva & Linius all made it back alive.
Viva is wounded though.
Viva is also a sniper. Fady and Linius are heavies.

That's it for now. Turning it off, it's a pretty damn fun game though.

I'm a heavy now? This game man. I might be the smallest dude in Footey Gaf :lol

Usho, I thought AVB specifically requested Baldini so he could focus on the squad side of things/is inexperienced.

He specifically requested someone to handle recruitment but Levy has tried this system before, it didn't start with AVB. It started 10 years ago with Arnesen and later Comolli We tried to get Baldini a year ago but he wasnt available, this continental structure was just put on hiatus while Harry was here.

I don't think AVB really wants to involve himself in anything besides the coaching.

I'm not gonna shit on one who just became a madridista the moment he became coach. Carlo is one of us now and he hasn't had the chance to even get criticised over something. Carlo needs to be given a chance and thats what I'm doing, giving him a chance.

For better or worse Carlo is the coach and I have to accept that. I hope we have a good run this season with Carlo at helm.

He's too much of a good coach for that shit team he landed on.

Ah, I see.

I suppose it's understandable to want to be detached from the player recruitment side of things. It's important to note though that a manager's touch can make all the difference.

AVB may not have the high profile of other managers, but you only have to look at how Arsene has handled things. He scooped Ramsey from under Ferguson's nose, for example.

@samuelj29060: BREAKING: AS: Arsenal have increased their offer for Gonzalo Higuain to £25.8m (€30m) & hope to finalise the deal on Friday #AFC

So who's talking shit here? How can we increase a non existent bid?

Verratti to United? This is going to be another C. Ronaldo for us, isn't it? We basically had him, something went wrong in the last minute, he goes elsewhere and becomes a superstar. MARRYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I'm sure Fergie's fuming over that one.

He must have been seething with rage at the time.

It was Arsene's personal touch that sealed that transfer. Ferguson did the same with Giggs.

I think people underestimate the people side of things in football transfers.
