All things said and done, Kagawa behind RVP is better than Rooney behind RVP.

If RVP stays fit then this Rooney situation is much ado about nothing. As long as a decent backup striker is brought in.

Rooney
Hazard Mata Schurrle

That's the front 4 that's going to win Chelsea the title.

Yep. I'm of the opinion that if Kagawa is to play behind RVP, Welbeck-Chicha-Henriquez is good enough back up but I realise others aren't and realise why they wouldn't be. But theoretically any two of Fellaini/Carrick/Fabregas, Kagawa behind RVP and any of our two shit wingers sounds fine.

Have you seen that article on The Guardian about "The Pornification of Britain"?

Look at this picture from a newsagent:

I was SHOCKED to see how many bikes were unlocked in Japan. Even in Shinjuku where we were staying.. there were bikes as far as the eye could see that were just parked, without any sort of lock. It was such an interesting phenomenon to me. I did see a lot of them locked up in Akihabara and Roppongi, but on the whole, we would very often see them without a lock. You could do this when we were kids here in the US but now you're just playing with fire if you leave a bike unlocked sadly.

A lot of bike riders also get hurt by trying to avoid a car and losing their balance and falling/skidding. It's a very risky proposition.
I went to a couple football games when I was living in Kawasaki. Was so hyped to see the Kanagawa derby - Kawasaki vs Yokohama. Packed out stadium, amazing displays from the ultras, good atmosphere.. Shunsuke Nakamura (main reason I went) gets injured 5 minutes in and the game finishes 0-0.. : ' (

Anyway, outside the stadium I clocked this:

Cavani is a pure 9. He will be starved of service mostly due to the team already being conditioned to pass to CR7. This will not change regardless who comes. Why do you think this will change? Still, we haven't had our first preseason match yet and who knows, maybe Carlo will change how we distribute our attack. I doubt it though, Carlo did say CR7 will be a key man in his plans. Cavani is not a game changer, he is a pure 9 and like all pure 9s, they can be rendered useless through lack of service. Real game changers are peeps like Messi, CR7, Robben, Ribery, Bale, Hazard, Mueller. Tarnish notte how none of them are pure 9s.
It would be useless if we spashed all that money to sign a great striker only to keep the same old pass-to-CR7 plans. I would at least think Ancelotti would be smart enough to distribute our attack much more evenly among CR7 and the striker. We can't expect CR7 to do all the goals, it makes us into a one-man team up front like Barca and Messi. Sure we could change those plans with our current players, giving Benz more balls (Jese and Morata are still risks at this point) but Benz is far below Cavani's quality in most aspects.

A pure 9 can be rendered useless through lack of service yes but let's not pretend here that our midfield is shit and that we will have problems to frequently link up with him. With the players we have in midfield it's pretty much top class so I wouldn' say it would be that simple to seal him off, furthermore let's remember we have CR7 so the opponents can't afford to just focus on cutting of the pure 9. If anything this resemble Barca's situation, opponents would always focus on marking Messi and the whole team went into a Barca B mode due to lack of service but with Neymar joining the club it's gonna be that much harder if he succeeds and syncs up with Messi. So with our midfield and with CR7 I think we will link up with a top striker pretty well and if the striker is of Cavani/Falcao quality then yes I def. believe they would be game changers.

You could argue that's still a risk, that he won't be a game changer and that we're screwed if our opponents find a way to cut him off but then over-dependence on Ronaldo isn't good and distribution would mean distribution between Ronaldo and an average-to-good striker (yes Benz is average) rather than Ronaldo and a great quality striker (Falcao/Cavani). If the team is still hell bent on letting all balls go to CR7 then yes, I fully agree that buying a striker is a waste but I don't see why we'd follow the same tactic if we bought someone of their caliber.

Tony Barrett has confirmed our interest in Bernard, and apparently we've made an approach to his club.

£20 million release clause. Get hype!

Also says Pere Guardiola is pushing for clubs to bid £40 million for Suarez to see what the situation is with the clause in his contract.

If we could essentially trade Suarez for Higuain (pipe dream) and Bernard (slightly more realistic pipe dream) I could just about pretend to be happy about it

My three favourite Bayern players? This is a tough choice. I'm gonna stick with two players from recent times and the one and only, true and insane Bayern legend.

Oliver Kahn
Giovane Elber
Franz Beckenbauer

Man, we've had so many awesome players (in recent times). Hargreaves, Kuffour, Salihamidzic, Lizarazu, Van Bommel, Effenberg... and even better we have a couple of amazing guys on the current squad.
Scholl and Deisler.

If we accepted Madrid's offer, we could theoretically get Higuain and Bernard for a net spend of £8 million.

If only...

Wow Liverpool are signing Bernard?

That's awesome for them. Incredible player. Looked stunning at the Confed Cup.

Signing of the summer that one.

Bernard would be a great signing for Liverpool but I don't really see why you need him given the attacking players already signed. I would have thought you'd be addressing other areas now, you still need at least two defenders and a central midfielder.

I would be mighty jealous if you got him though.

I thought Guardiola was Suarez's agent? How the fuck would he not know the clause in his own client's contract??

Even if we've made an approach, he could probably do better. Not bothering to muppet with this one. Surprised at the lack of Downing rumours, if we're actively trying to ship him off and add to our funds, you'd think there'd be reports of interest.

Dunno, I can't see any other clubs going for him. All the other clubs above Liverpool have alot of players in that position.

I think if make a good bid he's pretty much yours.

Bernard - The Little Monster

Sheesh this guys good. Moyes pls :(
