"Shit" is putting it way too harshly; he was being forced to play in that system because he was Guardiola's pet signing... and he still managed to score more goals in less games than Ozil and was consistently creating chances and assists for the team. Also, he played on Spain and Barcelona - he's won more than Ozil has.

We'll see this season who is a better player but I'd take Cesc over Ozil any day of the week.

Shit is harsh, he was good, but I guess it was basing it mostly on fans perception especially of his final season which some did really see him that way. Guess we'll agree to disagree. For me Ozil is currently the better player.

It's clear James needs more time to fit into the squad, he was running everywhere in the 1st half. Carlo needs to settle him down.

Coentrão was beastly in the first half, so was the rest of the defending line. Carvajal is still instrumental, he works so hard.

Kroos looks like he's already having fun, fitting really well. Looked very confident. Modric was owning his position as well as playing deep. Love that about him.

James --> Benzema needs to happen often, did not see any of that happening.

Bale & Ronaldo are going to cause a lot of headaches for competing teams. Bale looks like he's in the form of his life.

I was gonna say where's Lovren but it seems you edited him in. Didn't expect Moreno to start over Enrique and Johnson, but apparently Tony Barrett has said he'll go straight into the team. So that will be the team. Be interesting to see subs bench though, I'm guessing:
Jones, Johnson, Enrique, Sakho, Allen, Ibe, Lambert.
