You signed Reus too? That's overkill lol.

Signs Nainggolan as a ball winner in midfield. Not brilliant but is relatively cheap an decent enough. Saving my money for Strootman in January. He's been given a massive upgrade in this game. Will be the perfect controlling cm for the side.

Reus was too good to pass up at £21m. I did a lot of spending in the first window.

Also signed Valdes too in January. Forgot he was available for free. Made a good replacement for Lindegaard.

Just won the COC in my save. Have some lower Prem team in the FA Cup, should make the final OK. 3 points clear at the top of the table, I feel a domestic treble coming my way.

I'd love to see him come good.

It'd be nice. He has a much better shot this year with a) better players around him and b) being clear of the injuries that niggled him last year.

It's Elchele. He has no idea what he's talking about.

Immobile might come good for Dortmund, but he has always struck as the type of striker who needs quite a bit of help to shine. Have the squad play for him and he'll deliver. Put him in a big club where it's him who has to adapt and ... ehhh, I don't know. Not saying he won't make it, maybe he just needs time to adjust, but I wouldn't bet on it. Forza Ciro.

it took him a while to adjust to Torino as well, he scored most of his goals after Christmas I think

I dunno, but it seems to me like he's the least of their problems atm

Fellaini ain't gonna come good guys.

Lol, its been a little funny really. I can't comment too much on him nor use today's game as an indication of how good he is. He played a specialist job today which is similar to the specialist job Jones did against Madrid. I think he will be an option in games like the on we had today, but I just can't see him playing the kind of game I think we are trying to play. He is slow so he isn't particularly suited to being a DM, though this assessment is based on him trying to play that role last season. He isn't mobile enough as a B2B mid either. All he has really is his physicality and doing a specialist job, like he did today. He isn't going to play as a No10 for us, we don't need that type of AM.

The jury is still out on him but for what he was asked to do today, he did it well enough.

Didn't sign many players in my first window. Koke wouldn't join an Strootman wouldn't sign so I Nainggolan was my third choice. Signed a young Colombian cb too but that's it.

I see you signed Balanta. Gonna go after him or Laporte in January. The latter is phenomenal for a 20 year old cb.

Balanta has done very well for me. So well he asked for an improved contract. I quickly quashed that idea.

I forgot Eredivisie is full of strikers like Ibra.
Suárez was proved before/outside of Ajax, both are exceptions more than anything. Ajax was just a step in his career, he didn't make his whole career in Netherlands

Groningen is also part of the Netherlands, even if some here think differently ;)

Meant to say Strootman was injured so I couldn't sign him rather than him turning me down. Jones handed in a transfer request because he wanted to play CL with Arsenal. Said no and dropped him for a month. He came back, had a few games for club and country, then demanded improved wages.

To the reserves he goes.

I liked the look of Sven Bender better than Strootman. Plus I got him and Wanyama for the same price as he'd have cost anyway.

Juve fans discussing Pirlo's subpar (to say the least, lol) performances since he came back from the injury on Tifosibianconeri. I love the title of the thread. Spot on on so many levels, haha.

Both Lars and Sven Bender make brilliant defensive midfielders, but I'm looking for more or a Carrick type player who'll control possession. Think that suits Strootman perfectly.

Lucas Romero does that job for me now in my team if I need someone on to slow things down and retain possession.

Chelsea are on the skids in my save. Have a ton of injuries in defence an had to play 16 year old half star fullbacks. I beat them 5-2 and now they've lost 1-7 to Southampton at the Bridge.

I love this game.

That's one of the worst comebacks after making a stupid ass post I've seen in this thread.

Are you saying Suárez and Ibra are not special cases? I mean, the last few strikers to come from Eredivisie have all flopped. Erik ten Hag had an interesting interview about it, and he said players leave before they are ready to make the jump to a bigger league and that ends up ruining their careers. He was specially talking about Luuk de Jong and Dost

We've had more than enough strikers in the past who made it big in other leagues.

But claiming Suarez had already proved himself before he came here is just nonsense. Everything he knows was taught him here, in the netherlands. He showed his talent at Groningen and then grew up with Ajax.

And that interview is very truth. That's pretty much what happens if clubs like Chelsea and Manchester buy 18 year olds in smaller leagues. The big clubs destroy talents left and right sadly.

So Rooney will come in for Mata, I think we have to move Di Maria inside and well probably go back to a diamond again.
