That painful slog tomorrow through the day before Wednesday rolls around and the festivities begin.

What is footygaf doing for NYE?

A friend who has been abroad for about a year is throwing a small get together at his moms house, who is not home. His sister who is also going to be there is really hot, so I couldn't say no.

Right now I feel like I am getting the flu though. Always around new years eve.

I cant search effectively on my phone but its great

The one where the guy's sister sees him watching porn is great too

Is that the one where he was actually watching it in her room and thought he had his headphones plugged in?

'I would have liked to come back, but they didn't want me,' Song, who faces his old club for the first time as a West Ham player on Sunday, told L'Equipe. 'That's life. I'm not mad at them."

lol.

'Cesc also wanted to come back to Arsenal, who did not want activate their buy-back clause. It was surprising.'

Not the best decision I made...

Penny you could have died

Then we would never have been able to bond over being #1 jihadis

You already acted like an ISIS member today by killing me, and wounding me.

It wasn't the worst experience with an cigar I had.
My uncle brought and havannah cigar to us once, usually you wouldn't be stupid enough to inhale it.
I was and shat myself.

Yeah, Carbo. What do you have planned for NYE? As if I didn't already know...

You know me too well Scum.

I remember getting home from one NYE celebration with a massive wooden sheep I somehow acquired from the church nativity display that was in big fuck off lights on a patch of grass.

Taxi driver looked impress, like I just went out hunting for some morsels for my family in trying times. Only at 5am and pissed out my nut like a Paul Gascoigne tribute act. And the sheep was wooden, not real.

I guess the same will happen Wednesday night/Thursday morning innit.

And we were right on both occasions. A Cesc wouldn't solve ANY of our current problems but leave us 30m+ poorer.

...hate me...
Today is Europa Report day. Suggested by Netflix (based on last night's Mr. Nobody).

I'm following a common new year's resolution of watching more movies, before it's actually new year

He wouldn't solve your problems sure but he would still improve you a significant amount. Sanchez didn't solve your main problems either but he's still having a fantastic season.

Sanchez is having a fantastic season but Arsenal are not. Cesc having a fantastic season does not matter if the club only finishes 4th.

We need to address the issues that are actually there and Cesc would not do that.

Yes he did. Our main problem was that we didn't have a player that could score 20+ goals.

Now we do.

We don't have a problem creating chances with our creative players.

Really don't think Fabregas would have improved us as much as Sanchez has.

Not to mention we already have the best #10 in the world
according to your lord and savior

Ramsey could have potentially been that 20+ goal scorer if he continued his form from the first half of last season but yeah you're right. Of course Sanchez improves you more than Cesc does but having both would have been the best, especially now that Wilshere and Ozil are injured.

of course wed like to have our pie and eat it too

Managerial genius here

Yeah because we should just keep stacking all our attacking talent in midfield and spend no money on forwards.

Thank you, Mourinho jr.
Where did I say that? I'm talking specifically about Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal legend and a world class footballer who Arsenal were in prime position to pick up but for whatever reason decided not to. You bought Sanchez who is a forward and I maintain that's one of the best transfers of the summer. Meanwhile you have players like Campbell and Podolski rotting on the bench and when Walcott returns to fitness Welbeck will be even more useless. So was buying Welbeck really that worth it at the expense of Fabregas? I doubt it.

I think it's weird you're calling Welbeck useless when he's scored a decent brace of goals for us already some of which were important. Is he the best man to play CF for arsenal ever? No, but he's a good squad player for the forseeable future. Walcott will always be injury ridden. Campbell is a different story, one that I don't understand.

But basically you expect for wenger to spend money on fabregas along with everything else he spent recently, not happening. Especially not if there's a personal element to it. how do you know exactly that Welbeck was the direct financial cause of Fabregas not returning. Do you know sequentially when the negotiations took place, for example? You're making a lot of assumptions here.

Those two transfers are totally unrelated.

Money wasn't the issue.

We didn't buy Cesc because it would mean Jack Ramsey, Ox or Ozil would lose out and he isn't willing to do that.

Dat commitment to youth.

Don't bring up injuries because it's a silly what if.

Fabregas wasn't purchased because we have Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosciky etc in that position. NothIng to do with Welbeck.

Welbeck was purchased because we would have had to tolerate Sanogo every week otherwise as Giroud was expected to be out until January. The players don't go together.

Useless is probably an exaggeration but for £16mil I don't think he was worth it, especially when some of the season's success stories are players like Sakho, Pelle, Austin, etc. that are new to the PL but scoring goals for fun and that were bought for a fraction of Welbeck's price.

Why isn't he willing to do that? Fabregas is better than all of those players you listed and the odd man out could be sold.

You guys are right that it's not a money issue.

Because he spent 45m on Ozil and isn't ready to give up on him after one season because a bunch of people on twitter say he should.

The other three should be pretty obvious.

16m for Welbeck is a fair price. Maybe slightly too high but it was a deal done within the PL.

Lots of reasons mate, lots of reasons. Maybe he's pissed off how Cesc disrespected the club for 12-18mths before leaving. Given how Ramsey performed last season moving him on would have drawn hilarious amounts of criticism. Jack is Arsenal through and through and won't be forced out. Ozil is Wenger's money buy and moving him on would mean failure for Wenger and he won't have that.

There are numerous reasons why it wasn't done.

you don't know what kind of deals wenger had or didn't have on his table though. It was a deadline day announcement. And as others said, a bit of a rush buy. Might have been able to swing him for cheaper under different circumstances. I hope we can agree that normally, Arsene has been pretty decent at the buy low sell high game, can't always get the best deal.

You can't really say Fabregas wasn't bought partly due to Ozil. Ozil hasn't even been playing centrally this season and Fabregas has played right next to Matic.
