We all know what the problem is, its not the defence

352 just blunts the attack and forces us into meaningless possession football. That shit might work in Serie A or Loliga, the Prem is about pace and tempo

Manchester United didn't deserve to lose. I was about to say with recent results Man United's horrendous bad luck was starting to even out but now they'd need another 3-4 cheap wins to make up for all the bullshit.
With Falcao and Di Maria. Lols.
Yes because Falcao , Di Maria and many others have played every single game for United and there have been no injuries so bad that United have had the worst injury list in the league....

So basically they're as shit as they were last year, but Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton have regressed?

Do wonder how much scrutiny Butthead would be under if those teams hadn't shit the bed massively this season as those stats are fairly damning considering the spending over the last 12 months.

Remember during the summer transfer window how everyone was like "Whoa, ManU is going to be scoring 4/5/6 goals per game. They're going to simply bulldoze their way to wins"

1 shot on target.

Theoretical: If we have to sell Lucas and Balotelli/Borini to buy Higuain, is that acceptable?

Would leave us massively short at DM, but I'd be much happier with our striking options.

But, there's no guarantee that Higuain would adapt. Part of me thinks that Higuain and Sturridge may be too single-minded to play well together, then I remember that Suarez was often a selfish fuck as well, but they made it work

FT: Man Utd 0 Southampton 1. #MUFC 37 pts from 21 games. Exactly same as under Moyes last season. Fewer goals scored. "Philosophy" unclear

omg

When you put it like that... yea, it's as tragic as it sounds. LVG had the injury crisis, but he also got points where he didn't deserve them so it balances out.

3-5-2 is the worst thing ever tho. Just fucking give it up already.

The Independent is linking us with Higuain.

Rafa pls

It isn't the Independent, they are merely reporting that someone else is saying we're close to Higuain without actually naming the source. It'll probably be from Twitter or something and completely unreliable.

I don't want to spend £30m on a second choice striker really.

3-5-2 of peace. lets blame Robben for carrying The Netherlands to the semis. If only they had flamed out of the group stage. Lewis would have been shamed and scrapped the terrible 3-5-2. Instead he was viewed as a genius.

You're gonna have to pay an obscene amount of money to snatch Higauin from ADL.

Did Madrid fans really boo at Bale yesterday?

Some did. Some didn't.

The Bernabeu can be a very harsh.

Do it and play Rossiter and Can.

I'm buying into Atkinson's "goals" theory. Buy them. Strike fear.

We can actually get our attacking players into goal scoring positions.

Unlike Louieh, Brendan can coach fluid, attacking football.

Really? I remember it being more like "How can LvG not buy any more defenders, when they have been so shit there for such a long time?"

yes, i would be happy with that. would only be sad to see lucas go though. i suppose emre can go as DM and would even have sahko as the next potential option... sounds weird aye

First time he has a fully fit squad to pick a team from and he plays 3-5-2 which saw us struggle against fucking Yeovil until he changed it.

AND

Di Maria as a fucking back to goal striker when he just got put into the European team of the year as a CM.

Go back to the diamond, I don't care if we concede goals at least we play football with that formation.

Ordering food, starting Pokemon. Atletico v Barca hurry up please.

Basically need more pace to our attacks. Southampton are a very organised side and our build up is so slow that we made it easy for them.

Still should've gotten the draw. Tactics need to change.

I wonder why he goes with 5-3-2 against Sotton at home. The only reason we did that in the world cup is because we had a mediocre squad and had to compensate for our defence. That doesn't really go for United I'd say.

Fuck that, need Sakho at the back, don't trust any of our other proper centrebacks.

Man Utd had 2 easy chances, which Mata pissed up the wall

3-5-2 has to go. Simple as. Can't create chances when you're passing it around your defenders the whole time.

We need pace and width up front.

Credit to So'ton today. As I said before the match dealing with Morgan and Wanyama would be really difficult and so it proved. There was no way Rooney and Mata playing at CM would be able to combat them.

Need more round pegs in round holes too.

stubborn. Carlo kept trying the diamond at Chelsea despite poor results. Eventually he went back to the 4-3-3 and they won the league.

LvG doesn't trust our central defenders.

Can't say I blame him either. But with the players we have at our disposal we really should be doing so much better. Build up play is too slow.

I have read Van Gaal is a very square pegs for square holes kind of manager but clearly he's tinkering with roles and positions and it's not been too successful. There must be some reason he feels 3-5-2 is the way to go because evidence doesn't seem to suggest it is.
