Our wingbacks got no support. It just ended up going wide and then backwards.

Meh performance.

On to next week. Hopefully it improves.

Why are people even bothering with doicare today? It's not even funny this time, United was at full strenght and had 0 shots on goal. Just ignore him.

3-5-2 and no Falcon even on the bench is cutting that strength in half m66.

Mata should've equalized tho. Had 2 clear cut chances =/

I'm very confident we finish top 3 come the end of the season. Especially if we sign a defender in this window. We just got back 4 players, but lost one with Debuchy today but we have adequate replacements. Ramsey, Sanchez, Ozil, Koscienly back gives us a lot of momentum.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

Pls you couldn't even beat Southampton, heck you couldn't even beat us. You'll scrape into 4th like you do every season.

Sigh just reading up on this Charlton Rainbows story :/

Before yesterday's match, we were told to meet a group equivalent to ours.

Unfortunately, this was a hoax and some members were attacked.

@proudcafc

Lured into a fake meeting and attacked. Beyond even casual homophobia. A planned attack is awful. What goes through these peoples minds i'll never know

Does that matter? You fielded it today and lost.
Yes because:

1. When nearly all season long you have half your first choice team out injured (nope not an exaggeration) and it's not even the same players out injured, it's different players every week, your team will be significantly effected by this and when you finally start to get some players back it going to take a while for them to gel and play well together. ESPECIALLY when so many of them have only just arrived this season.

2. Several key players were still missing today.

3. Southampton didn't play any better than United, in fact United were slightly better. Southampton just had the luck of the ball breaking to them & talking their one chance when United failed to take any of theirs.

Dat race for the 4th

Just looked it up and that's United's exact points tally this stage last season.

According to the rules of football, that means Southampton played better. The scorer kept a cool and calm head as they slotted in the winner, versus United's crazy antics.

How much is Southampton's squad even worth lol? Their best transfers were cheap buys from our Dutch Mickey Mouse cup and they play with 19 year olds as subsitutions.

Don't see how that changes anything. You don't have to beat every team in the league. Unlike you, most the time we beat the teams we should.

We were 7 points clear last year of 5th.

Manchester City finances under scrutiny from Uefa

Manchester City's finances are facing renewed Uefa scrutiny after it emerged that the complex structure of its City Football Group parent company is being investigated.

The Premier League champions, who were fined £16million and forced to play with a reduced Champions League squad by Uefa last year for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations, have endured accusations of duplicity in recent days over the contractual situation of Frank Lampard, who will spend the rest of the season at the Etihad Stadium after initially appearing only to be on loan from New York City FC until the end of December.

After proclaiming Lampard’s arrival last August as a loan, the club has now confirmed that the 36-year-old actually signed a year-long City contract, despite fans in New York and Manchester being led to believe that the midfielder had signed for the newly-formed MLS franchise, which is also controlled by CFG.

While the Premier League and City claim that no rules were broken in relation to Lampard, Uefa’s probe into the finances of CFG could lead to further FFP-related sanctions if evidence can be found to prove that the formation of subsidiary companies allowed the club to under-report losses in their 2013-14 accounts

I'm in shock.

....

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on the absence of Radamel Falcao from his squad: "As a coach you have to make decisions, you have to look at the composition of your team and select and look at your game plan. I decided he is out of the 18 because I have to change Luke Shaw and Angel Di Maria for example. You have to look at the needs of your selection at the time. Marouane Fellaini came in and because of his substitution we created three chances.
"I hope we are improving, because we can still improve. We showed today that we played better at home against Southampton than away, then we won but now we lost. We can still win the FA Cup and reach the top four, we have a lot to fight for."

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, speaking to Match of the Day: "We played a much better game than Southampton. They were lucky to score out of nothing. That is very disappointing. We didn't create so much but we dominated the game. They came for a draw, I believe, and they go away with a victory, that is disappointing.
"We have to improve. We have to make better choices with the ball but you also have to take into account that the opponent was well organised today."
