I just bought a nice steak and rented Guardians of the Galaxy on bru.

I hope I don't overcook the steak and I hope Guardians is decent.

Goodnight everyone.

I just worked 12 hours, guzzling down beer and waiting for the College Football National Championship game to start. I'll be drunk by kickoff and asleep by halftime most likely.

...hate me...
Jts/jtb pls reply.

Sorry m8, was getting some hell from my bank website.

I will add you as soon as I turn on the PS4 in the next hour, to then proceed to watch some Sunny on Netflix.

We couldn't play now anyway because FIFA servers are fucked currently

Regarding our ability, well I could never win Div 1, best I could do was 14 points and a game in hand, so there's still a line between us. I also vary my form tremendously. And still haven't worked on my skills game :(

Not sure if you like "reality" competition shows like I do(cooking shows etc) but if you do, I recommend The Biggest Loser: Glory Days

It's finishing end of the month but I like that they using former athletes etc. Making it interesting

Otherwise, shows like Fargo, Mad Men etc would be my suggestion.

Do I need to have seen Fargo to enjoy the tv show?

Maybe I will watch True Detective.

the first few episodes of the honorable woman were so boring

Me too. CB should be the highest priority.

Not sure if we're allowed but I wouldn't be against it if debuchy is 3 months out.

How was your Christmas/New Years man?

pretty good. alcohol + some old friends, some new ones. good mix. how about you?

It has ahs a sow build up, I agree, but with that Acting and the further development of that story made me just fall in love with it.

On that note, I really hate how TV series have to make an explosive first Episodes just to reel in viewers, just kills any tension for whatever they are going for.

It's a decent show. Nothing fantastic but it's a lovely looking well put together bit of TV. With that and Frank (saw it again recently....such a weird and fantastic movie) Gyllenhaal had a right good year.

Plenty better on last year though.

Speaking of TV; UK folk Fortitude shaping up to be a highlight of 2015. Can't wait for it. Expensive original Sky One Arctic crime drama thing starring Eccleston, Stanley Tucci, Gambon and Sofie Grabol.

Pls. I seem to remember you not liking mad men because it's slow.

Farid pls. I will make you feel unwelcome again.

I am not expecting anything good out of Sky. They are basically gonna Hollywood the british way of TV making.

BBC have been spot on with these types of shows, and Itv is starting to geth their own style.

You're the Worst is fantastic and underappreciated. Try that too.

It helps though if you don't know the tone of the Coen brothers flicks.
Also I think it's fun to see the moments where it differs and diverts from the movie. It has similar story beats and character types but isn't really the same story or a remake at all. I think it takes stuff from other Corn Brothers movies like No Country too, so it helps to have seen some of their films.

Thats not true, FF.

I said I didn't like Mad Men because of its periodical setting. I just can't seem to get into settings that depict certain eras because I can seem to appreciate it.

God knows how I got into The Americans. Probably because of Keri Russell <3

pls understand

Just googled it. Sounds great. Thanks for the heads up.

The Coen Brothers have a movie coming out next year and Ralph Fiennes is in. I hope it's a nice large part. Either way he and it will be glorious.

Yeah Sky don't have the best record, but the calibre of that show gives me hope.

ITV aren't great either, Prey was an exception. Wish Channel 4 would take more risks and the Beeb really but obviously they aren't in the position to. Feel BBC lean on their regulars too heavily and when they do commission original drama it's either dull adaptations (what I reckon Wolf Hall will be like) and rarely something exciting.

Saying that Sky did commission Hit & Miss, which was really fucking good.

All I ever notice in terms of original programming on Sky is crappy-looking sitcoms like Trollied and Mount Pleasant. It'll be interesting to see how this Fortitude thing pans out.

But the TV highlight of 2015 will be Mad Men.

Or the new Venture Bros.

Or Veep.

I appreciate your commitment to British television. In Ireland, we pretty much have one well regarded TV drama (Love/Hate) and I haven't even seen it.

At least with Mrs. Brown's Boys we fly the flag for the quality comedy worldwide.

I have watched these, I just haven't watched season 3 yet. Is Flash good? Arrow is fantastic.

#TeamLaurel

Arrow Season 2 > Flash > Arrow Season 3 > Arrow Season 1, so far.

Looking forward to finishing up Mad Men and hopefully some new Rick and Morty material. Silicon Valley really hit its stride at the end of its first season, too.
