More speculation about Michael Keane this morning in the press. As usual, some are sure he's going to Pool, some are sure he's going to United. We need to start putting buybacks in more sale contracts lol.

Puel didn't say that. He said we don't want to sell him, Sky Sports just twisted it.

Sky are a high class respectable outfit, they wouldn't do that.

lol

If there is one guarenteed outcome, it's that if Manchester is interested, he ain't joining any other club esp Liverpool. He's actually a Manchester guy, his dad and brother both got season tickets and have been following the club since kid age. He would know better than to sign for Liverpool esp if his intention is to ever play for United again.
Read an interview before he got called up to England team and he sounded like he wants a return to United so I won't be surprised but it all remains on how much Burnley feel he's worth

He's young and English. So at least £25m.

Can;t say I've seen enough of him play to seriously wonder if Mou might want him. but if he can be at the same level as Jones and not, you know, injured all year, it might be useful with Rojo out for a while.

Didn't see that! But the whole Ronaldo vs Messi rivalry, maybe Messi is really embracing it.

That's my take on it. Raul, Di Maria and Iker Casillas are all there.

Can't remember if he ever traded shirts with him during clasicos.

Also,I imagine all major footballers have these rooms somewhere in their house.

Football Leaks book says Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been earning £422,500 a week at Man United this season (including his goal bonus)

While not so interesting for neutrals perhaps. Arsenal's game at Southampton on Wednesday, is one that me and fellow Liverpool fans will have a watchful eye on, hoping that Arsenal could drop points.

Arsenal play both Southampton and Stoke away before Liverpools next game, if they get 6 points from them, I have a feeling they will get 4th, if not I reckon we will be ok. The West Ham game is giving me the fear! :(

Probably, but not necessarily. IIRC similar was true about Luke Shaw and Chelsea, and he still went to United

But yeah, if both are in for him then Liverpool would probably have to blow Uniteds offer out of the water to be considered (which isn't likely)

Messi's black out tattoo is fucking nasty

So many footballers display more money than sense/style when it comes to tattoo choices.

What has utterly sank United in recent years.

If Lallana and Sturridge play vs West Ham, I will be a bit more confident.

Also I think Man Utd would go for Keane over Van Dijk personally. Think Mourinho prefers a Keane-type defender.

I think Van Dijk will stay one more season then go. It's going to take a stupid bid for us to let him go next season due to us having to bed in a replacement for Fonte.

van Dijk is way overpriced at £50m, if Keane is available for £25m then any sensible manager would be going for him just on that basis

And Lallana should definitely start (as in any game hes fit tbh). Sturridge I'm less sure about. Origi has been in pretty rubbish form lately, but I think hes more effective for the team in away games, hes a fairly selfless player, which cant really be said of Sturridge

I'm still mad at Everton for crippling Mane, I think 4th would be safe if he was fit

I can't recall any English defenders Mou signed, and after dealing with Smalling and Jones I don't think he ever will.

Edit: he signed Ashley Cole, but can't recall any English Centerbacks.

He's not needed to though. He had Terry and Cole the first time out and Terry and Cahill the second.

No point trying to lure English players abroad as most aren't interested.

I have watched some matches of him play. Burnley play very defensive so it's difficult to see his individual quality but he's decent. However in the England friendly matches, he showed more of his quality on the ball and off it. He's quite strong physically and good in the air. He also seem to be able to pick out a pass, not on a Hummels level but decent enough compared to Smalling and Jones. His weakness is mobility, he's a bit slow.

No, this isn't like Shaw. He's not just a fan, he's a proper Manchester kid. He even went through the academy since age 10 or so, he was in Pogba, Lingard, Morrisson group that won the youth FA cup. If United is interested, even if Liverpool offer double wages, he won't go there

Hearing so much about coutinho and Barca these days. What do you guys think the chances are of him going?
If we get champions league and without.

These rumours have been for about 3 years running now. It makes little sense for them to have waited for him to have signed a new contract.

Barcelona cannot afford Coutinho esp for the kind of price Liverpool will demand. What most people don't understand about football finance is that there's only really two clubs that cab afford to spend a bit more ridiculously and they are Madrid and Manchester. That is in the true sense of it, both clubs can out muscle every other club in financial muscle alone. Barcelona are rich but their riches is swallowed by the ever expensive squad wages they have, esp the MSN trio. Before they can sign a Coutinho, they have to sell someone major who can fetch a decent amount

Van Dijk at £50m is far better value than Keane at £25, especially for our system. Liverpool defenders get exposed. I suspect that would be a huge challenge for someone who plays for a Burnley side that put 8 men behind the ball. Plus, Keane is in no way an improvement over Lovren.
