Fucking :lol at the Premier League, Chelsea almost losing at home to Brentford and look complete shit, Arsenal losing to Blackburn at home.

Goes to show how far ahead United are of everybody else in this shit league even with a 'average' squad.

Almost as bad as La Liga.

Reading the iconic sports images thread (and the "Lewandowski to Bayern" rumor) reminded me of what I hate most about soccer: Not an ounce of parity.

At least in Europe it seems like 90 percent of the national leagues are basically farm teams/feeder clubs (whatever the right term is) for Champions League contenders. Whenever a player shows any talent, he's dealt away within 2 years max to one of the 10 richest European clubs.

When will the UEFA/FIFA/Whoever do something about this?

The big clubs have the weight to sign the better players from the smaller clubs.

It's the way it works and that extends right down to every level of the game.

Not much if anything anyone can do about it.

Salary caps/floors and other trade restrictions would at least alleviate that.

dortmund is hardly a feeder club.

But why are you trying to restrict it? For what purpose?

Where do you draw the line between a player legitamtely moving to a bigger team, and what you think is a "feeder" system?

Salary caps also only really impact matters at the top level of the game. You still have the "bigger team signs player from smaller team" system at every level below that.

We've been dreadful. Notice how Ba hasn't had any service today either. The team just isn't set-up right. Bring Torres on (for Oscar perhaps) and see how that helps.

Nice goal by Juan though, hopefully it can be the start of several more.

Still, when it comes to trades in the Bundesliga, it seems like all roads lead to Munich.

reus, schieber and gündogan all went to dortmund after they played one good season for another club in bundesliga.

Bayern is the real Madrid of Germany. Let's be real

nope and we already had this discussion. bayern is more like the barca of bundesliga since they use so many players from their own youth.

Well, all that may be true, which only makes it sound like the system is beyond repair. When success comes down to which billionaire pumps money into your club, I'm not gonna like it.

After leaving soccer behind as a teen, and falling in love with American Football in my early twenties, I think for all its flaws I just vastly prefer the NFL system.

You probably won't have something like this happening in soccer
whereas in the NFL this circle of parity happened at least in the past 2 years.

Even after I stopped following soccer, I continued hating Bayern, which was mainly fueled by the fact that they absolutely dominate. I mean, they won more than half of the German championships in the 25 years I've spent alive. That's insane, and IMO it shouldn't be happening. And yet, in Spain it's even worse...

But I guess I wouldn't start watching soccer anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter whether I like the status quo. You guys go ahead and enjoy your game.
