Does anyone know what an open book examination entails? Got an e-mail from a lecturer announcing that the final would be open book. I've never had one of these before.

I would think it either means you're allowed to bring textbooks in with you or that you see the question beforehand. I think it's the former, but that's just guesswork going off what open book seems to imply. I'd be mighty surprised if it wasn't one of the two.

Good luck man. I'm enjoying Nandos tbh, the people are great. Just long hours and hectic all the time.

I don't really have to look into much until next year anyway; there's a teaching program that combines both the PGCE and two years of paid placement at a school, so come September I'll probably start to look at that. Need to up my game with regards to university though, I'm quite lucky most my essays are creative ones but I'm gonna fucking die on this History of English essay and exam.

Is that Teach First? A few of my friends went into that. It's really reputable.

PES is held back by the advance in technology. The focus on realistic animation kills gameplay.

The joy of PES used to be the sharp, responsive gameplay and satisfying ball-playing mechanics. When you curled a ball, it felt and looked like curling a ball. When you smash one in to the top corner, the camera couldn't quite keep up and it was as close as games come to replciating a real-life physical feeling. When you hold the ball for a second and glide a through ball to the striker at the perfect moment, you feel like Xavi. When you wait for a striker to make a move and pull off a 4 yard slide tackle as the last defender, you feel like Baresi

When I play FIFA, I feel like a man made out of elastic bands kicking a beachball in 0.75 gravity

If they draw then they could potentially have 4 matches in 8 days. That would be awesome.

In my second year of Uni I had an exam which was IDENTICAL to the paper from the year before. Literally IDENTICAL, every single question was the exact same. It was multiple choice so the order for the answers was literally the same as we had all been practicing the night before.

The thing is we weren't meant to have access to the previous years paper but I managed to get my hands on it and shared it with my year group.

After 10 minutes 350/400 people in the exam hall put their hands up to say they'd finished. I became a legend.

I did however feel very bad for the poor souls who didn't see the paper before hand. Can only imagine what they were thinking when the hall emptied after just a few moments.

Am I the only one here who still plays PES? Never been able to play FIFA, I brought it once in '09 but it was so terrible i even went back to playing PES 2008. Played a few of the other versions since then but nothing seems to have changed. Doesn't help that I despise playing online and only play single player, where even FIFA fans admit PES has the stronger modes.

I play PES6 on pc every day lately, currently sitting 2 points behind Man Utd on the table with Arsenal, with 6 games to go in the season. So good.

Well I hoped someone would share my Gladbach crush. I totally understand why you would like Mainz and Freiburg since they pretty much promoted from rags to riches without any financial help, and this, without spending left and right. A true achievement.

The first 10 minutes of Tomb Raider are great, it really gives me an Uncharted vipe and I immediately fell in love with Lara.
The minimalistic UI is lovely and the world looks to be incredibly immersive. Even on PS3 the graphics still look great.
