Wouldn't count Chelsea out.

They have no manager and no striker.

Big if's - but if they sort those two issues out, they could do very well. Hazard, Mata and Oscar will only get better.

Kay isn't backing down on this. But imo he's made a bit of a mess here.

A solicitor has defended himself after his company advertised the fact he is referred to as ‘Merlin the Magician’ by Manchester City stars.

Manchester-based Burton Copeland say Gwyn Lewis has been given the nickname at the Etihad Stadium after representing a number of Blues players and making ‘many worrying cases disappear’.

The solicitor specialises in motoring cases and has defended City’s Carlos Tevez, as well as former players Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Danny Mills.

Chelsea need to sort a lot of shit out. They have really good CAMs but I think they are weak in the middle of the park and almost as bad as Spurs up front. Central defense is another dodgy area. Their spine needs serious improvement. If Mou goes back there that will paper over those things for a while, though.

Then that suggests his 'source' sourced the spoof article
Indeed.

That's what I think happened, his source has got it wrong and he obv. really trusts his source but it's pretty clear that he's been messed about. In his webchat he said he was promised more information next week "when the time is right".

:lol

If United can add one or two quality players then we'll be up there again next season. Our attack is still the best in the league even with our wingers gone AWOL.

But we weed more solidity in defence and midfield because you just know that City and Chelsea are going to strengthen too.

We'll be there or thereabouts. Recently the only times we haven't won the title it was on GD or by 1 point.

Unless something major happens, like Fergie leaves, we'll be contending. I reckon we will make 2/3 signings very early in the summer. Zaha is already signed up - though I'm not sure he'll make any major impact yet.

If City make as many changes as people are saying they will I could see them struggling a little. If they sell as many as 6/7 players and sign that many news ones and also change the manager...it'll be a very different team.

It'll be very interesting. There's going to be some major turnover.. I think most of the Starting XI will remain intact though. Nasri and Lescott leaving at this point is just getting rid of some dead weight. The striker changes will be the most important -- we'll need to get the new guys in early to give them plenty of time to get adjusted. These last day transfers aren't cutting it. If Nastasic had been on the team a month earlier and been able to play sooner, all those goals conceded early on may have dried up.

Do you have faith in the Gomez to City rumours?

I actually hadn't even heard them. I hope it isn't accurate though. He seems like a worse Dzeko to me.

At the very least, Zaha could serve as a kick up the arse to our other wingers who have been pretty poor this season.

I'd like to see us doing what we did with Kagawa. Declare our interest early and sign him a couple of days after the transfer window opens.

The Chelsea/United FA Cup replay has been scheduled for Monday 1st April, KO 12.30.

United have a PL fixture on the Saturday (Sunderland A) and Chelsea have one on the Sunday (Soton A).

Both will probably be postponed now.

Maybe this will act as a kick up the arse to get rid of replays all together.

edit: ha, me and Clegg using the same phrase.

If thats the case United better fucking win the replay. Gotta get some form back before we start playing PL games.

It's a mess.

Both clubs already have one PL game outstanding. That's now 2 games because there's no way we'll play 1/2 days before the replay.

And then the winner of the replay goes to Wembley for the semi-final and will miss another scheduled PL game.

Meaning that with a month of the season left to play, one of the two clubs will have to play 8 league games.

If Chelsea are still in the Europa League I don't know how it's going to be possible for them.

Edit - Okay so the United game goes ahead on Saturday. Away to Sunderland at 12.45 and then Away to Chelsea at 12.30 on Monday. Fucking hell.

Chelsea's game A to Saints now going to be played on Saturday too.

United are finally getting a new pitch. Getting a Desso fitted after the final league game.

Manchester United to spend £500,000 on new Old Trafford pitch

The Premier League leaders have played on the same grass for six years, but will need to replace it at the end of the season after it became boggy over the Christmas period.

Manchester United will spend £500,000 this summer to relay their worn-out Old Trafford pitch.

A hybrid pitch, made up of synthetics and grass, will be installed by Dutch company Desso the day after United's final home match of the campaign against Swansea on May 12 and will take two-and-a-half months to bed in.

Same company who City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Wembley use.

I think it has Nylon? intertwined with the grass so when players wreck the pitch it doesn't rip the roots out.

just saying because you said egg cheese burger when it's just an egg burger. the yellow stuff, the yolk (or cheese as you put it) is naturally part of the egg and not added

You know the egg cheese burger is a real thing right? A cheese burger with egg on it...

no that's what i am saying to you, it isn't cheese. i mean i get where you are coming from because it does look a little like melted nacho cheese but it's actually the yolk, it's the nucleus of the egg or something
