I think he's exactly what you need. Agressive, strong, capable on the ball. Yes he has the occasional brain fart but no more often than fools like Pique. He's a very good defender. I think losing him would be a big blow for Chelsea but CBs can always be replaced unlike forward players.

I think that he's improved a lot in the last 12 months. He has better concentration and is more able to judge when to hold his position and when to challenge. He's technically excellent as well. As a defender I'm struggling to think of a recent game where he looked dodgy (I don't think he's a good midfielder though).

Yeah it won't happen. Ivan is also acting as the best right back in the club on top of being a starter in the central defense, have a hard time seeing who he could realistically replace those two players with, although I guess Wallace is coming and Chelsea hopes he's ready to actually play for the first team.
