I am actually shocked too. When did it happen ?

One of the best keepers in the world. Was top 5 material along with Kahn, Buffon, Barthez and Chilavert back in the days.
He retired from international football following our dismal exit from Euro 2012.

He's still playing club football, but it can't be long now at 37.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Oh please, everything Suarez does is amplified *10 purely because its Suarez. Everyone knows he doesn't do himself any favours but the English media are like pit bulls who make a meal out of everything he does to ensure maximum punishment and publicity.

The press do it to everybody. Terry, Cole, Giggs have all been harangued in the papers. Suarez is just too thick to moderate his behaviour.

Suarez is actually going to blame the press for wanting to leave and Liverpool fans are going to believe it.

Loooool.

Well that is part of the reason why he's leaving. And there's nothing wrong in saying he's fed up with it. That doesn't mean he's saying he didn't bring that bad press onto himself.

I hope that too.

I was deeply shocked when Enke committed suicide. For two reasons: one, he was one of the best keepers in the world and was well on his way to become #1 for the World Cup. There was simply some doubts about his capacity to recover to make it in time from an injury he suffered from at the wrong moment. Secondly, Adler got the #1 jersey after Enke's death and didn't resist the mental pressure of both being forced to deliver and from the fact that his soul twin actually did commit suicide, and his body crumbled. The result was that Neuer stepped in and became the famous keeper he is known for now.

Slightly disturbing that the stellar performances of these two guys was fatally hampered by their ill excess of ambition. And that this led to the dawn of Neuer's unstoppable rise to become the best keeper in the world.

The thing about Neuer is that he always looks like a little kid having fun.. of course it leads to some screw ups but I think it's the main reason why he's capable to deal with the immense pressure (i find it unbelievable that some Bayern fans still don't like him and insulted him during the title celebrations :( )

I don't count them as bayern fans.
how could you insult one of your best players? I just wished the club would ban those fuckers

I remember someone on here wondering if Suarez was even aware of the criticism he receives from the English media. Well, now we know. lol. I thought they had a point, too, but Suarez just seems completely detached at this point. He can't argue with the ban, but why would he even care about what the media write anyway?

Doesn't make any sense. He just wants a move and/or more money.

I don't know if it's just a product of the tiny image from the ESPN Gamecast text updates or what, but this defender for Ireland looks so out of shape. :lol

Yes, this giant babyface is a blessing for the German team. Always been both a fantastic keeper and hilarious PR material.

Still, Adler was my favourite during all these years.

I used to go to school with ben foster. Another lad that lived on his street went on to play and then coach keepers at birmingham city.

Name an attribute he had other than shot-stopping

His defensive organisation was shite
His command of the box was a joke
He was abysmal at coming off his line
His distribution was no better than average, long and short

Not that wrong, but he sure is one hell of a shot stopper.

I do prefer Guzan for us, more of an all rounder.

I say, let them go. WC in 2014 is of the utmost importance for their motivation and being part of the squad for the Confed will help them in this regard. And they are not absolutely needed to face Stuttgart anyway.

This site is reporting it too:

"The Brazilian federation said Dante and Luiz Gustavo may be dropped if they don't show up by Saturday.

Brazil's assistant coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said the Bayern Munich players must report 14 days before the opener, as required by FIFA. But that's when Bayern plays the final of the German Cup against Stuttgart, and the club wants them in the team for that match.

"We already talked to FIFA and just now we talked to Dante, who said he wants to come and is pressuring the club to release him," Parreira said. "The players must be here, that's the requirement from FIFA."

Yeah let them go but it sucks for them to miss out on the celebrations. What a cluster fuck.

I like how the take up of the VIP seats and the quality of the game are directly related. You can judge how shit England are by the amount of prawn sandwiches consumed at the restaurant.
