Alexis Sanchez seems to be getting a free transfer to Inter Milan. I suppose for a huge signing on fee and a partial pay cut. I really get the sense that there is no love lost from club or player in this deal.

Me personally, I’m happy with this. Could be the worst transfer in premier league history. Opens up lots of wages for things like Pogba contract renewal, wages for Sancho which looks likely right now.

Yeah I think with Utd, they’ll take an extra month to haggle 2-3million on a high priced transfer so I don’t doubt the savings made by letting Sanchez go will actually make its way back into the playing squad with new signings. I do believe Sanchez’s wages alone, if he started for Utd, because his contract paid higher if he started a game for Utd, that alone could pay for Rashford, Martial and Greenwood with an extra 20-30k left over. It was madness.

You definitely dodged a bullet. I was watching AFTV say he was done 12 months before he moved to Utd!

Arsene Wenger: "Manchester City and PSG are the two favourites for the Champions League in terms of their potential. Aside from that, honestly, PSG, I feel they are a little bit less strong than 3 or 4 years ago."

Real Madrid have won just one of their last seven Champions League knockout games without Sergio Ramos (0-2 vs Schalke 04 in February 2015), losing five of them (W1 D1 L5).

FC Heidenheim 1846 sign midfielder Dzenis Burnić from Borussia Dortmund on a three-year deal

That's a good signing.

France Football: Arsenal have made the best salary offer currently on the table for Brazilian attacker Willian (32), with a contract that runs for 3 years with the option to extend by a further year & they expect him to move to North London from Chelsea.

Times: Aubameyang is expected to earn more than £300,000 a week including bonus payments in his proposed new contract. Arsenal are open to selling Lacazette to Spanish or Italian clubs. Club offered Willian a three-year deal and keen on signing Coutinho on loan

Interesting to see how all of this pay off in the long run.

Iker Casillas retires from professional football.

Iker Casillas is one of three players to captain a side to victory in the final of each of the World Cup, European Championships and European Cup/Champions League, alongside Franz Beckenbauer and Didier Deschamps.

Gianluigi Buffon on Casillas’ retirement: “They say competition makes us better than others but not perfect faced with ourselves. Maybe this futile pursuit of perfection is what made us who we are. #Grac1as Iker, without you, everything would have been less meaningful.”

Thank you Iker

DFL announces that fans will be allowed at the start of the upcoming season (will start mid September). But with four rules: No away fans, no alcohol, no standing sections and all clubs must keep records of all ticket buyers in case of a positive Corona infection.

If, after the deadline to provide info for the draw at UEFA, a country places restrictions which make the tie impossible, it is forfeited. So, Tottenham drawn at home to team from Romania. UK then bans travel from Romania. Spurs would forfeit the tie.

Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez has been left out of Real Madrid's Champions League squad to face Manchester City.

No surprise there.

United have terrible Money Practises these days. First Pogba and now Sanchez?

Is Bale leaving Madrid next season then if he is left out?

Bale is done for sure but he will stick like glue to collect paychecks for the full duration of his contract unless someone offers him higher wages which is not happening, so I think to more seasons of collecting paychecks.

Happy with our 2 signings so far ake is solid n fast and torres looks like he can be hell of a player.

Torres has attitude issues so Manchester City need to be careful and have a plan to deal with him.

What went wrong for Bale if you don't mind me asking? He seemed to be oretty great at first.

He was always underwhelming and under performing with two notable exceptions, one CdR final and that UCL final against Liverpool, other than that he always done less than expected for his level. What made it worse is after the Liverpool final during the celebrations he whined wanting more time and to be the main man at the club on live TV so that summer Cristiano left and he became the main man and got a new very fat contract as he asked, he proceeded to completely flop then sulk then not putting in the effort or caring for the team and here we are.

Pep says its not more important for him to beat Real Madrid: "Not special, honestly. Barcelona is the club where I am. I want to beat them but when I play against Barcelona, I want to beat them."

The Premier League is set to stop making the "drawing of offside lines" available for broadcast to TV companies

This is a very bad move.

Commonsense and collectivity prevail. Premier League confirms clubs agree to revert to three subs. Also clubs “unanimously approved the implementation of VAR in line with the full FIFA VAR protocol” which means refs consulting pitchside monitors 🙌

At least they will get inline with everyone else on how VAR should be consulted.

Pep : It’s difficult to know (Zidane's) tactics. When you think you know, he will come up with something different. We've watched all Madrid games since La Liga restarted and spoken about how we think they will start. But what we've done more of is talk about what we can do.

Since it was not important to you to defeat Real Madrid why not just give everyone a vacation instead? :pie_thinking:

Wojciech Szczesny, Juventus goalkeeper: 'We're thinking about the match against Lyon, we're ready. There is a feeling similar to last year's before the match against Atletico Madrid in our squad. Ronaldo always makes a difference in important matches and he is ready to make another miracle.'

Dark Rider Dark Rider How do you feel about Varane right now.

Edit: J/K by the way.

It happens, I wish it doesn't happen in any important game but it will happen when it happen and I will have to deal with it. I stated many times in this thread already that we will not make it to the next round this year so no surprises there.

David Vinuesa Malbac: Arsenal continues trying to negotiate with Atlético de Madrid for Thomas and Atlético de Madrid continues to say that either clause or nothing. Neither 25 nor 30 nor 35 million plus a player ... Clause of 50 million and yes of the player or he stays with Simeone.

I hope he stays.

David Silva: I am touched our fans planned a guard of honour for me tonight but cancelling is the right decision in the circumstances. We will say goodbye together at the right time when it is safe. Enjoy the match at home!💙
