So since 2013:
Remaster Last of Us. 2 Uncharted games. Last of Us 2. Patch for Last of Us 2. "Remaster" for Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy. Remaking Last of Us 1. Working way too long on the MP for Last of Us 2.
I can't say they've staying still.
But agreed, no new IP is underwhelming.

For the scale/budget of their titles, ND are pretty productive. As to IP generation, the issue is that they are the originators of 2 franchises which are highly significant to the Playstation first-party line-up, so taking them off of those properties isn't easy from a quality control PoV. From a PR standpoint the new game would need to match or exceed the quality of previous entries so as not to be viewed as damaging to the brand, and frankly whoever takes over is inheriting a lot of pressure to achieve.
Transferring production to another studio also isn't ideal given that they are based on bespoke tech, meaning that they'd almost certainly need to be involved to some degree to hand over and support the new devs while they find their feet. This is basically how studios get kinda stuck with being single-property shops - success can really lock a team in.

I don't get that either. They have gameplay, its just incredibly shallow and mindless. Which is fine depending on the rest of the experience. Works great for a game like Uncharted 1-3.
TLOU2 on grounded is far from shallow and mindless.

No, it really is still just as mindless and shallow as played on any other difficulty. The core mechanics and piss poor level design doesn't change. Just the "intelligence" of the AI, which isn't very intelligent to begin with.
If you want a game that has actual depth and strategy, play MGSV. It does everything in TLOU 1 and 2, but far better (Strictly in terms of gameplay).

Arms. I honestly loved that game for the unique fun romp that it was/is.
But yeah, I would love to see a completely new IP from them up there with Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. All IPs developed over 30 years ago.

To create AAA games takes alot of time money and resources so naturally if you have a successful formula that resonates with audiences you'll stick to that formula and milk it for all that it's worth.

During this time I remember hearing from the Sony fanbois about how Xbox's biggest names didn't have any new ip, which the same could have been said here. I'm glad some old studios like Rare and Bioware have tried something new like SoT and Anthem (under rated btw).

You are absolutely correct. Nothing in this is "woke" except, maybe it could be argued that the entire story-line with Lev is written with a slacktivist bent as it would make very little sense to keep a trans person around in a post-apocalyptic world.
However, given how terrible the writing is across the board for this game, I don't see that being the case. Its just a bad character written poorly in a terribly written sequel that should never have existed.

Yep. I still remember the Uncharted 3 launch. Was my first collector's edition I picked up at launch. I was enraptured for and played for two days straight to finish everything. Then I played the MP for years after.
Then came TLOU. I was beyond excited. The next big thing after my personal favorite game of the studios' portfolio (and yes, I understand its problems - still my favorite). Was beyond disappointed. Then Uncharted 4… then TLOU2… I just can't bring myself to be excited for *antyhing* this studio does anymore. Each release more disappointing and mindless than the last.
