Former Crackdown 3 Team Working On Unannounced Xbox Game Since 2017

O boy, can't wait to see the next game from the team that created a game so catastrophically bad it borderline destroyed a franchise.

Hype.

Crackdown 3 campaign is still a lot of fun, however I doubt they greenlight another. Hopefully this is something new.

I hope it's a better game than Crackdown 3. Albeit the game having some great ideas, it was pretty bad. Bad animations, bad graphics, bad physics, story almost non-existent, and a not so interesting or engaging shooting mechanics. I still finished it, but nothing really stood out and I felt like I wasted some of my time.

Considering the development hell it went through, Crackdown 3 turned out pretty good imho. The open world looked pretty generic, but I loved the design of it, how every boss was open to beat from the start. And depending on which boss you'd beaten already, it changed how future boss fights went down. For example if you hadn't taken down the AI that runs the train rail, then when fighting some other bosses, you'd also get rail cars of enemies. And if you hadn't beaten the guy who runs the mining sector, you'd get superheated gas attacks while working through buildings in a couple other boss fights. And they've put out a good amount of free post game content.

The MP was pure doodoo.

I just do NOT get the hate for Crackdown 3.

I had a ton of fun with it. And I played it and the first game back to back and honestly found the original game hadn't aged that well.

Crackdown 3 wasn't a big leap in any direction, but it's far more in your face fun than the first.

I don't get it.
Co signed.

Crackdown 4 makes sense, or no? they suffered heavy loss, but it goes without saying that it's a Premium IP if done right, and has huge fanbase. Also James Goddard was the lead Combat Engineer for Killer Instinct, and Mark Simon has worked with Sony on games like God of War.

This will be interesting, big brains behind a 5-year-old project.

Crackdown 3 was.....not great. However, I actually played the single player and found it fun and with some good mechanics....as well as a host of not so great stuff.

If MS wasnt gonna do much with 3 aftrr its super-long development and launch failure, I would have loved to have seen MS open up C3 to the modding community to improve the game.

I'm optimistic that C4 could be good. MS could have their own futuristic GTA.

Do that. And play the original first for at least a few hours just for comparison's sake.
I just finished playing Crackdown 3 and overall I liked it! the game play was relaxed and easy for someone like me to jump in and out off during moments of free time.

I liked crackdown 3, yeah it wasn't what they advertised but it was fun to play. Maybe not As complicated as some games but it was fun while it lasted.

For all the people who hated it, did they play the first 2? And if so what did you expect from the 3rd?

No.
All these guys are publisher provided design support. They work on tons of games. Dave primary role was on KI for years. He likely 'worked' on Crackdown because it reported into his group.

Wasn't it a bunch of third party studios contracted to work on it anyway? What studio would have shut down?

its not me who was saying they should of shut them down, I questioned the other guy saying so they should of shut them down?

so every single game has to look AAA to be good? the game plays well but great contribution about a game you never played lol
No? But it has to look not garbage, especially with how many times it was delayed, it definitely wasn't a great contribution for that dev team to gaming.
Don't need to play trash to know it's trash, hun. 💀

again opinion on a game you haven't played. insightful

I'm trying to figure out why you're so defensive over the game? Were you part of the dev team? It makes no sense to me, there's nothing redeemable about that game

I thought the game was ok, I had fun with it. like a lot on here but a lot like you trash the game with zero game time. yes it might not have the best graphics but it was fun to play

People don't need to play a game to know it's bad there's multiple videos on youtube showing just that. It had zero to do with graphics the game looks archaic from a gameplay standpoint, the Crowbcat video about it was just sad. It looks like it belongs in the PS2 era.

so its not about graphics but it looks like it belongs in the PS2 era?

the gameplay was crackdown, it was a sequel to the other 2 crackdowns. we knew what we were getting
