Former Star Citizen dev criticizing Squadron 42: The game consists of “walking and talking” with very little actual gameplay

I mean, I'm just as skeptical as the next guy about Star Citizen, but this reads like some disgruntled ex who just wants the project to burn.

I got in on the ground floor so, watching all of this (i.e., The Star Citizen Saga) has been oh so worth every single penny.

I don't care if it fails or succeeds. It's been a fantastic ride.

Either way we get:

A - A Great Game
B - A Decent Game
C - A Bad Game
D - Total Disaster, Chris Robert goes into hiding, the "snake oil" narrative is proven correct, documentaries are made, people cry, white knights are hunted down in the streets.

It's going to be great no matter what.

Nice attempt at deflecting the question. Can you buy SQ42? Yes or no?

If you can't discern SQ42 from SC PTU then its off to a very bad start and I don't feel like wasting my time. "It's a scam" is again, low effort, same as your previous attempt at it in the previous SC thread.
I haven't tried to buy it. Are you saying people can't buy SQ42 ? How else are they going to "sell" it, Are they giving it out for free ?

You can't buy SQ42, it's off the store for years

If you buy the MMO, it's MMO only, it no longer comes with SQ42.

It will not reappear on stores until imminent release. And likely full price as any big game release.

So any trailers for 2023 or 2024 for Squadron 42, no matter how hyped peoples got for it, you could not buy it, and they marketed the hell out of it in the last two conferences. If they wanted to fish for sales, stores would have been open for preorders during those presentations.

It still has no release. It's been delayed for many years. With no real release in sight. The game clearly exists to raise money off of marketing via crowdfunding, to fund the lifestyle of the suspect married couple who own the studio. Reading the OP...(and any other press about it since 2014...) even if the game ever does release, what would it be? That's one expensive walking simulator.

Major yikes to that whole thing.

But they already had made the money for SQ42. Google tells me it was part of packages they sell that has SQ42 as a bonus earlier, which apparently were around 120$++
They got the money for SC and SQ42 for years from fans (basically pre ordering it kinda), so can't buy it anymore until its ready isn't a show of good will exactly.

A glorified typical Sony game made for PC, I find it hard to not address the real issue here which is Sony been doing this for decades. Technically, that put the game between Bioshock and COD and distanced from Battlefield which is the golden standard.

See this?

Such big brain moves at CIG, over an hour and a half of footage and hype but the store is closed, someone should email CIG and tell them that's not really a smart way to raise money.

Also all UK companies have public filings. You can even go look at their book to see how much money Chris makes yearly. Stop this nonsense brainlet accusations. You think you're the first to think of this? You think journalists would not fucking hunt him down if there was even a whiff of fraud for funding their "lifestyle"? You probably think he bought a yacht while we're at it, confusing a meme for reality.

Ah yea, only walking simulator, why not add the "cutscene" simulator while we're at it. Let's not look at the flight or fps fighting from the footage of previous years. Only cutscenes. We wouldn't have references of such a space game from Chris Roberts right? Certainly not Wing commander or anything of the sort.

$120? Ain't no way. They were standalone for $45 each or so if I recall, for the longest time even SQ42 was a $15 add-on to the $45 MMO.
I backed mine for like $37 in 2013 for both.

JFC they had already perfected this kind of game in Starlancer.

All they needed to do was improve the graphics.

Confession: I was actually interested in Star citizen because I am old and played space sims.
Unfortunately the game became an MMO for no life whales.
I just tried starlancer for the first time.
What a banger of a game!
