Glad this sick bastard will be locked up, pissed off that it seems to only be for 5 years.

This story makes me think about that pedo board that Buzzfeed (I think it was them?) infiltrated. Makes me wonder if Jared ever posted there. Just remembering the posts that were made there horrify me...

Prosecutors also say Fogle obtained child porn, including videos showing the abuse of victims as young as 6.

...
... He deserves to never see the light of the sun again. Absolutely sickening.

Wait a minute...

This guy has solicited sex with children. Has 3000 videos and 100,000 images, some number of which he was directly or indirectly involved in producing ... and he only gets 5 years? What?

Gotta get the names of those that helped, and this may be part of it, because there's no way it's just Fogle and the other guy.

The first article in the OP is a little old, it looks like he will be getting much more than that. I think I saw somewhere minimum of 12 years. But the judge can give more at sentencing based on other aggravated factors, of which there are a lot.

If this was part of a plea deal, he probably sung like a bird on his sources.

Is Jared now the poster child for just completely throwing it all away? What a stupid, horrible, person he turned out to be.

The sentence better be WAY fucking longer than 5 years for those charges. That's some downright evil morally repugnant shit. I'm livid. Six years old? Jesus fucking christ.

I'm guessing part of the plea bargain was that Fogle provides the feds with a list of every other scumbag involved in this mess. And, as others have pointed out, the first article in the OP is a little out of date now. The second article, the Reuters one, states a conviction of a maximum of twelve years.

Less a poster more a group photo with Bill Cosby and Phil Spector.

Sean Penn belongs there too but he's somehow escaped justice

edit:

for those that didn't know, Sean Penn raped and tortured Madonna and hit her in the head with a baseball bat while tied up in his apartment

While you're considering this, I urge you to read the following article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/27/m...tution-help-victims-of-child-pornography.html

Given that Amy's pictures have spread so far and wide, it's entirely possible she will have to go through yet another visit from officers, detailing how Jared Fogle had copies of her photos on his drive. I particularly want the folks who think consumption of child pornography is somehow more acceptable than production to read this article. Both the law and psychology assure us that victims of child pornography are continually re-victimized by having their photos out there. If you're looking at them, you're as much of a shitbag as the guy that took them.

Heartbreaking article, thank you for posting. I am pretty sure I know who that is unfortunately.

At sentencing for these kinds of case, the identified victims have an opportunity to send in a victim impact statement, usually read by the judge, talking about how they have been irrecoverably harmed by the original abuse and the ongoing trauma that knowing these pictures and videos are still on, and actively traded, on the Internet. They are always really hard to listen to.

Five, twelve, either or between is too short. I suppose there's some justice in him never having a normal life when he gets out, but 1.4 Million to just 14 known victims, and not the countless others? That's not enough

As the countless others come forward and are identified, they'll have an opportunity to seek further compensation. If the Amy and Vicky Act passes (call your Congressmen, it's already passed the Senate), defendants will be on the hook for lifetime psychiatric and medical care, life time work replacement value, etc.

What's really shocking is that it took until the 1970's for the U.S government to ban child pornography. Like, really, what possible reasoning could they have for thinking it was OK to view it before then? I mean, it would literally be sold alongside your usual smutty magazine as if it were normal. It's fucking ridiculous. Not that banning it has done much good. As that article states, it's so easy to find child porn and, as is the case with Amy and Nicole, their trauma will never be over. It truly is a sick, depraved world we live in.

What's worse is that Japan just made it illegal in 2014 with a year amnesty if IRC. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. I remember reading that a year or so ago.

It is disgusting and why are there so many of them out there to begin with? There's always going to be a fight for age of consent, so pedophilia is defined by many different factors.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

A tough read. Thank you for the link. Doesn't seem like he'll get just five years based on this article but I don't know.

It took the UK until 1978 and there were still holes in it just as there were with "gray areas" with the US law which brought rise to all the skeezy "model" sites in the late 90s/early 00s.

Would that apply retroactively, or only to new charges?

I got grudge sucked!
Wow, I heard that the guy heading up his charity had the child porn on his computer and they were checking Jared due to association. Didn't know it would include Jared as well.

Now I have that Jim Gaffigan voice in my head saying "eat fresh"

Same. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

From the NY Times article linked above, about federal sentencing guidelines:

"Receiving one illegal photo carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years. The number of images a defendant downloads increases the punishment, as does his use of a computer. Now that large volumes of data stream with a click, the average recommended prison term for possession has jumped to 10 years, even if a defendant has no criminal record and there is no evidence that he produced or distributed porn."

If the amount of stuff he had is being accurately reported, then it certainly seems like he should be getting a lot more than 5 years. Especially if he was in cahoots with the friend that was making the stuff... I guess the best we can hope is that his sentence is on the higher end of the range and that he rats out a bunch of other child porn people.

I just caught up on this story watching the report on CNN right now. I just don't have the words, it's just so much stuff involved. I didn't think that it would be THIS much. My God.

And he may only get 5 to 12 years?

That's just insane.

Catching up on this stuff; fuck this guy. Him and his manager are real fucking monsters. Funding a child pornography ring, soliciting sex with minors. Just disgusting. And some of those quotes on the first page that go deeper into how these sex trades operate just makes me sick to my stomach.

Glad this fucker is getting jail time.

Shit, I didn't realize that it was as bad as this! I'd just thought it was limited to him fucking older teens or something (which is pretty shit in and of itself). Jared is a legit monster.
