My Forza playing time has fallen off a cliff lately and it feels bad, man. Once the semester is over in a few weeks I'll hopefully be able to get back into it, but in the meantime, the December car pack looks like another good one. Is it wrong that I want the SVT Raptor more than any of the others? Must been my inner redneck breaking out.

Entirely new cars are great, but I'm not complain about a new version of a great car thats 7 years apart.
As a Mazda fan, I dont think they look 'almost identical' at all. I can certainly see a bigger difference than I would between the 911 generations, for instance. Either way, its likely to have a much different PI than the 04 version and will have different online potential than it, which is what interests me most. A decent amount of the November car pack cars turned out competitive, so I'm optimistic that this one will be quite useable.

Just got this in today from the Amazon $27 lightning deal.
I'm sorry I held out. I'm not the biggest sim driving fan, but I loved the living shit out Gran Turismo 1-4, was super excited about 5. Bought it day 1, and could never get into at all, the racing was okay, the interface sucked my balls though. It was so devoid of life.
So, call me pleasantly surprised when I popped in Forza 4 and am enjoying the hell out of it. The Kinect interface is pretty sweet as well.. love being to jump menus by voice, and the head tracking, though gimmicky is so subtle but it's immersive.
Now, I need a wheel.

Check the speed wheel thread when search comes back online. But yeah, it is freakin epic! It doesn't feel at all like a wii wheel. It will take about an hour to get used to be once you've used it there is no going back

Yes, the only fucking car you should be concerned about is the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra. Which, AGAIN, isn't in this pack.

We should be having a weekly league of races. Not time trials, because that would be dominance, but actual races. And Jube has ABSOLUTELY said he would supply prizes for any event we came up with. Unicorns, Credits, etc.
We could race a set number of courses over the weeks, with standings, and compete for prizes based on points. We could race once per week, or even twice. And even have incentives to show up and race with a livery (dude, I only have 8 million credits, but I'd sponsor what I have) or something silly just for showing up and competing.

So most of these things seem pretty self explanatory, but what's the extent of the wheel glitches and what's happening with the VIP/LCE users? I haven't bought this game yet but I'm hoping to pick it up soon as I loved the first 3 games. I think the £59.99 fixed RRP on the LCE was the one thing that stopped me jumping on the game day one.

Um, that's 4am in California. It'd be 7-8 for me, but mumble mumble solidarity and all.
When I played international racing league races with people both in the UK and California, 1600 GMT would be the earliest, and 2200 GMT would be the latest.
Sorry I haven't been around; we just bought a house and things have been busy. I will be online more in a few weeks.

The Wheel glitch has to do with automatic assistance taking place through turns while driving on a 900 degree rotation wheel even though all assists are off. Pretty big deal if you're billing yourself as a sim racer when the game is auto-correcting oversteer for you.
In terms of what's happening with VIP/LCE owners? Nothing. Nothing is happening and that's our issue. We shelled out extra money for this content and besides a crown next to our names (which admittedly, is pretty sweet) we haven't received even a modicum of the content we received in F3 for being VIPs.

Around 2-3PM Eastern Standard seems to see the best mix of Brits and Yanks on Forza. Thats only 7/8PM over in Britland, and 11AM/noon for the Californians. Perfectly do-able for a Saturday or Sunday. And absolutely perfect timing for me, sitting here in the middle!
But yea, lets do this. Most of the GAF club benefits I get come from making big $$$ from you guys in Rivals modes. And while I enjoy hotlapping sometimes, I'd really prefer to be racing with you guys side-by-side on the track.

I suppose you're talking about my GT, except it's Mc Kane like Ryan Mc Kane in the first ToCA Race Driver and not MrKane.
Played a few more hours today and I seem to have come to terms with heel-toeing, no longer have to think about it really and it's not really messing up my lines and brake points anymore. I still tend to break a little earlier than without the clutch but the advantage in a straight line more than compensates for it. Also, nailing a tight corner with heel-toe braking is so much more satisfying.
Can't wait to apply this to some more serious sims like iRacing and rFactor(2, when the beta is out).
Forza 3 taught me to use manual gears effectively in a race and Forza 4 finally teached me to heel-toe . Ofc I drive a stick IRL but that doesn't really apply on a track in a game.
