Aren't you 2 DLC packs late for this rant? Both the American Muscle and November packs were structured the same way. Their content, their rules, their prices.

speaking for myself, this is the first time its affected me, and since i have little interest in DLC, i wasnt aware thats how it was set up. late or not, it sucks.

The 900 degree steering is still not linear according to some guys in different forums, see link below for an example.

http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/permalink/5036167/5036477/ShowThread.aspx#5036477

Have you noticed this or do you think the steering is linear ?
Yeah I did mention one anomaly in my first post but I put a disclaimer on it. I'll just post it again anyways.

The final 180 deg just before full lock on either side has minimal input in the game. Meaning with 540 degrees input you can get near lock to lock.

I would like it to be 1:1 but I was far more concerned about the game holdIng my hand and neutering the driving experience with assists.

I haven't checked out that link yet. Is what I'm talking the same thing they are? I'll check it and see

Seanspeed: maybe you need to read my posts over again.

I will be online Sunday for the race.

Going to try and take a nap when I get home from work so I'm not falling asleep.

Need to be wide awake to avoid a charging cjelly.

So it "sucks" that you can't or refuse to pay it? Should the DLC be free? Or should they not bother with DLC and just save the content for the next full game?

Look at it this way, the SP gives you the opportunity to own all the car DLC for the lowest price, the individual packs add a premium for being able to pick and choose.
The individual cars add an additional premium and a penalty for being able to pick and choose. The value of those choices is up to you. At least now you have more choices than before.

There's no statute of limitations on rants..! ;)

Seriously though, I am getting seriously pissed off with tactics like this. As Op Ivy said above, it's a pretty shitty way to treat your customers. I'm already mad at myself for paying twice as much for the game just to get a tom-thumb book (unread), some stickers (unused) and a metal case (opened once). Oh, and a little crown next to my name.

Just because I've demonstrated that I'm a weak-willed and stupid consumer is NO excuse for Microsoft to treat me like one. This strategy of holding back game content only to release it a little later on as paid-for downloads is a cancer on the whole gaming industry, and charging more money for what's perceived as 'desirable' content or locking some items to bundles only is a fucking wet fart in the face of all consumers.

yes, more choices. still, pretty shitty to lock out the best car from individual purchases to entice people to buy the whole pack. still shitty to increase the more wanted cars over the less wanted cars. there should be a flat rate for every dlc car individually, or, the entire set at a discount. you can defend it all you want, but its a crap policy that pisses off some customers, myself and mascot included.

why people feel the need to defend stupid customer gouging policies this gen blows me away.

EDIT: unlike mascot, i dont think the dlc cars were held back - aside from probably the first batch. i'm ok with the concept of dlc cars, even if it would be rare i'd buy any.

You are... very graphic.

See my point above, you're making an assumption that they are holding back content that is fairly unfounded.
But even assuming that is the case, would you rather wait 2 years for the next game for the content or pay the content developer's price for it?

How dare they price content according to market desirability!

How about this, pay the price you wish or don't pay anything and get the RX-8 R3 free!
The price of the Monster Suzuki is 560 points, but you get 8 additional cars free.
The price of the Maserati GT4 is 240 points.
The price of all the other 7 cars is 160 points.

I think the point was this is a departure from how it was done in previous games. Not to mention it's in addition to major price hikes across the board from the LCE to the DLC.

In the previous games, it was buy everything or buy nothing. There are more choices now, not less. The FM3 LCE was $80, FM2 LCE was $80, no change there.
And with the SP, DLC is the same price as FM3. If anything, the price on the full packs was increased to make room for individual item sales.
What people seem to want is more choice for less or no cost and that isn't going to happen in business.

What I think is wrong is to preventing people from using the unicorn and pre-order cars, even in free play, which are admittedly already on the disk unlike the DLC content.

Just tried that Suzuki rivals event. God damn, that thing is a monster! Had to pussyfoot around the course just to keep it clean. I'm pretty sure I can cut off another 5 seconds, though.

It's certainly not the best it could be for the consumer but from Turn 10's point of view it makes sense to retain the best car for the pack. You may have ended up not buying anything but I'm fairly sure that the majority of people seeing this end up buying the pack instead of nothing.
Also, I find it surprising that nobody was as vocal when they announced the DLC price inflation that was put in place to make the SP look like a good deal when in fact it was just removing the FM4 tax to get back to FM3's DLC prices (400 MS Points/pack).

Thinking about it, I'd be very interested in statistics showing the DLC sales of FM4, and when I'm talking about DLC, it's all of it : avatar stuff, tokens, SP, car packs, individual cars, track packs, etc...

FM might not bring sales numbers as impressive as GT but subsidizing the development with those DLC cars that would otherwise be saved for sequel + massive outsourcing + Ultimate Edition down the road must make this series quite profitable.

BTW, who wants to start taking bet that the Hyura will be the "pack only" car of January's DLC pack ? :D

I'm betting the 2004 SVT Cobra will be the "pack only" car of January.

The price hike sucked. I was really disappointed by that, especially when they announced the season pass and how you would get a discount and then it was discovered later that the discount would pretty much be the old DLC prices.

As far as the tiered pricing for a la carte (or lack of it) goes, it's better than not having the option to by some cars individually at all but worse than having a flat cost for individual cars.

You know I completely forgot about the U.C. there's your solution guys. Wait 2 years for the FM4UC and get everything (except VIP) for much less and probably even get some additional exclusives.

And regarding the Huayra, I'd be shocked if it were not pack only. Same for the BRZ/GT86/FR-S when it comes to the game.

If I'm remembering it wrong, fair enough.

While I don't personally have a problem with it, I can see how some people would feel gamed by the cute pricing. There are psychological drawbacks to "we'll give you anything except what you really want".

The acceleration is pretty incredible.

Also, Ox man, WTF? 2.02.6 at the NurburgringGP track? I've been working hard on my car and the best I've managed is a 2.03.4 which I thought was a pretty good lap. Doing a practice stint, most of my times were high 2.03's, low 2.04's. I dont think I can get another second out of this car. :(

I'm sure we'll have a close race come Sunday regardless of what times we set on solo rides :)

I've run Kaido like five times today, man is there alot of corners to learn. Thank god for the guard rail, otherwise I'd be lying down in the valley in a burning pile of Japanese steel :/

Has anybody with the new dash tried moving their forza save to cloud storage?

it won't let me do it, for some reason but oddly enough if you want the 'Inside Xbox' video the example the use is Forza4. Anybody else get it to work?

I'm too terrified to try after losing everything in FM3 when I bought a slim.

Oh hell no. I'm not giving up that easy. I tried a couple more cars today. Used your Bumblebee and it wasn't too bad. Was matching what I could do in the other car without even much tinkering. With some tuning, it might be a real possibility for me.

Ox might still win but with some luck and consistency, I think we can at least put some serious pressure on him.

I'm running Kaido uphill and downhill seperately to learn them in parts. I know uphill somewhat well(in terms of at least knowing what sort of corner is coming up), but I've got a lot of work to do to learn the downhill. And its one thing knowing the corner coming up and another to actually get round it as fast as possible. Especially when there's usually another corner right afterwards that might be more important to set up for.

Having a blast driving on it, though. Feels good once you get going.

Damn, the Suzuki is such a... monster...!

Turn 10 must be congratulated on the selection of cars. The Masa and Escort are great. Keep the golden oldies coming.

Is it me, or did the patch also change the stats screen in the upgrade menu to automatically be set to the proper 'numbers' scheme instead of the 'bars' scheme?
If so, good change. I hated having to press Y every time I wanted to see real stats.

There were stickers in the LE? lol

I am not laughing at the idea of stickers I just never noticed. I think that's an alright thing to include for an LE.

Yeah, in the
useless
book.

Heh, I didn't know it had stickers either.

The LCE book, (though calling it such stretches the definition of the term), was a real disappointment. Half the car descriptions had photos of the wrong model, and the text being merely a transcript of Clarkson's Autovista monologues was also lame.

I think I may have thumbed through it for all of 5 minutes on launch day and haven't thought about it since.

I'm still sad that we didn't get the HSV-10 and that they actually removed some SuperGT cars. I would have preferred more of those instead of the useless liveries for the A4 DTM or the R10 that we got...

been out of the loop for a while (skyrim) and hadn't heard about the patch.
too bad i can't try the wheel now, since i'm moving out and it's packed somewhere, but did the patch also change a few replay angles ?

I could swear Camino Viejo replays look different now, for example, and there's something different / better about the overall look of the game, but i'm not sure since i haven't touched the game since 11/11/11

edit: oh i see it's been mentioned..

We don't know for sure what will be in the January pack. We know some of the cars that will eventualy come in DLC thanks to BADNED from forzacentral posting hints and unofficial confirmation over there. For example, he already confirmed the Camaro ZL-1 and the Huiyraaaa (or whatever the new Pagani is called) among others as cars coming for sure in futur DLCs.
The new Pagani comment I made is linked to the temporary exclusivity that EA got for it for Shift 2. Turn 10 couldn't put the car in the game at launch due to it.

BTW, I'll try to investigate with captures those post-TU changes when I can.

thanks G Rom. that new pagani is hot. i can't wait to get it. unfortunately it will probably cost 2 mil and i'm broke. i'm always broke in this game. i cannot paint or tune worth a damn and i want to keep all of my cars so i don't auction anything. oh well. someday.

It probably won't cost that much. Turn 10 introduced a "reduced in-game prices for DLC cars" policy in FM3 that they seem to continue on going by the relatively low prices of the Monster and 300S (1M each).

FM4 isn't compatible with cloud saves. You can move your save back though.
