I know I joke about it, but I really can't wait to mess with the Dodge Omni. It is still one of the best hot hatches that we have had in America and at the time it was just brilliant. And I am really hoping that we can drop the SRT4 motor in it. This pack has some nice cars and now that I have a capture card, I am going to take advantage.

What do you guys want to see? Flybys with the Pagani? Drifting with the Impala? Acceleration runs with the Omni? The Lambo screaming thru a tunnel? Let me know and I will try to get you guys the videos. In case you hadn't noticed, I am really enjoying this capture card.

Do you have a capture card? Because if you are using the in game video thing, just wait until you hear how compressed the audio is. I used the video tool once and the sound was so horrible I just could never touch it again. Which is why I wanted a capture card so bad.

I am not the best drifter, but I am pretty good. Been working on it since the first Forza so I like to think I am fairly decent.

And I will buy every car in the pack, like I have been doing. I just love to grab the cars and feel them out. You can really tell the extra level of detail that these and the new cars for Forza 4 got.

If you like cars, its a fantastic event.

If you like motorsports too, then its a freakin wet dream. I've been 3 times and each year is better the more I learn I about everything, especially the older cars. There's also craploads of drivers just walking around. I actually bumped into somebody just walking along, turned around to say sorry and it was Dario Franchitti!

Yea, thats an Aventador right next to it. On the other side of the Pagani was a Bugatti Veyron Supersport, too. The Pagani seemed to get most of the attention of the three.

Yeah, Goodwood pushes all the right buttons for me. It's the breadth of historic race cars that really gets me going though. Auto Unions, and Group B rally cars, and 60's F1 cars, and so on and so forth.

I would do anything to go to Goodwood one year. It just looks amazing and like a car lover's dream. One of these days I need to make it over to Europe and do some sort of "car tourist" trip or something. Hit the major events, tracks, factories and drive The Ring. My girl keeps saying that is what she is going to give me for my 35th birthday. I am never sure if she is just kidding around or if she is honestly going to do that.

People dont usually get dressed up for the Festival of Speed. You're probably thinking of the Goodwood Revival. I haven't gone to one of those, but it'd be fun.

So I assume Autovista DLC outside of the M5 is a no-go? Selling them individually would be dumb, your essentially paying for a high poly model of a car to peruse but bundling them in with a pack may be the way to go in future titles.

I think its a great reward to community members and a plus to both sides. I would love a free DLC pack too but I haven't been as active or participatory really lately so I'm not about to go begging for one. I don't know if people deserve it per ce, but it a great gesture and I see nothing ill of it.

Having damage on at an oval track is just adding insult to injury, a crash and you're easily ½-1 laps down right away, add damage to that and you could just as well spend the rest of the race in the stands.

Not to mention the frustration if you're not the one causing the crash in the first place.

Either way, it's gonna be a thunder storm running around that oval

Seanspeed, I tried out your Catalunya C tune. Felt nice and stable! Got some consistent laps with it. I may just have to use it. Although I've got one without aero that I got my best time with and seems pretty stable so far too. Decisions...

Except it's not new at all. Turn 10 already gave away DLC codes on twitter or facebook after FM3's release (won quite a few myself). I see it as the same thing, rewarding the hardcore community, the one that has greatly invested both real money and time in this game, the one that still play it and will play it until FM5's release.
Also, you have to realize this is free marketing for the pack. Turn 10 would never officially release dozens of photos, make gameplay videos or beautiful paints for their DLC packs, this small group of community is "in charge" of that.

I would have preferred if each car in the game had a written history and spec attached to it rather than AV. Kind of like how GT has done it. The appreciation for a given car would be more this way imo..

This Sunday, January 1st (LOL, WUT?), GAF Racing Club is eager to extend a competitive race outing to all those affiliated with our club! Please join us at 2:30pm EST (do your conversions!) for tire-screeching, insane speeds, bad choices, unbelievable passes, sexual advances, unicorn bragging, and perfectly executed intentional crashes from your favorite forum members! This is the fourth week of our racing league, so continue the awesome support, GAF!

RULES:

• No glitched cars. Ever.
• Minimum 10 players per event type for prizes.
• Damage for main race types will be Cosmetic and Collisions will be on.
• 1 Lap run around BEFORE event type on said course, strictly for stretching your legs.
• GRID WILL BE RANDOM (there's no complaint box, so deal with it)
• You don't HAVE to do all three events, but it's up to you to keep us informed of what you want to participate in.

Also...

2. – Race League racers should, whenever possible, race “clean”.
.....2.a. Car position relative to others on the track is not always clear. Mid-race .....discussion over xbox live should be used primarily to communicate position and .....passing intents by drivers to avoid collisions.
.....2.b. Attempts at passing should only be made when it is safe to do so.
.....2.c. If being passed, make attempts to avoid collisions whenever possible.
.....2.d. Careless passing that results in significant collisions will be identified post race .....with either time penalties incurred for the offending driver, or with that driver being .....disqualified for that event. Penalty specifics are open for discussion, and .....cases will be looked at via replay on a case by case basis by volunteer bystanders.
.....2.e. Non-significant collisions, or trading paint, is frowned upon, but usually will not .....result in specific penalties.
.....2.f. All drivers should drive cautiously and thoughtfully to avoid collisions. If minor .....collisions occur and it leads to a change in driver position, attempts may be made .....by the offender to allow the passed car back into its pre-collision position.
.....2.g. All racers should save a replay after each race in case review of infractions is .....necessary.
.....2.h. Cars should make all attempts to stay on the track at all time. "Shortcuts" are .....frowned upon and may result in time penalties or race disqualifications.

Not crashing is gonna be a major part of finishing well both with the NASCAR race and the Nurburgring race. I cant afford to just hang back if I want to win, but its probably a safe way to ensure you're not facing backwards 5 seconds into the race.

There's really hardly anything to my tune. Camber tweaks, ride height lowered, slight toe adjustment and a bit more brake pressure and thats about it I'm pretty sure(oh and gearing).

I saw that Ox was also using a non-aero setup. I might have to look into that, cuz if I can get away with not having aero on, I'm all for it. Its gonna be real hard to keep you guys behind if I'm ahead and its gonna be even harder to overtake if I'm behind if I'm lacking in top speed by a significant amount.

Dude, how is the Omni?? Come on man, I MUST KNOW!!!

I'm not sure how it's supposed to handle, but for a D class car it's not bad at all. As expected, it's a rocket off the line, but as soon as it hits 4th gear...hello turbo lag! It's kinda nimble around the track (might wanna lower the suspension a touch). If you let off the gas, this car really allows you to carve into corners quiet well, but it should be known that as soon as you apply the gas it will plant itself quite hard and whatever exit line you choose is the one you're stuck with. Very rewarding car if you know how to drive.

I went across a few of the rumble strips for shits and giggles.....LOL, it's funny watching those older cars' tires jump all over the place!

Seanspeed has a tune for the Miata on his storefront.

The NASCAR race will be easy to find a tune for. Just grab a Stock Car and look for Indy tunes.

As for the Nurburgring, well that is up to personal preference. A few people are using the Zonda R, I am trying the Joss JT1 (although I am sure to regret it later) and there are other nice cars like the F40C or the F50GT. Most of these cars will have some sort of R2 tune on the Storefront, but you just have to play around and find the one that fits your style best.

EDIT: tried it and it was great. I really didn't think a car with ~150hp would outdrag my 180hp car even without aero, but alas, it does. I can put pretty much the same lap times in either version, but I think I'm going to go with yours for this race just so I'm not down on top speed.
