Forza 7 |OT| The 7 you've been waiting for!

Coming from FH3 this game seems to run way smoother and better on my machine.

No micro-stutters and fewer crashes etc.

Got the game yesterday and got past the first championship (2500pts). Then decided to try online.

complete shitshow, understandibly, as a lot of newcomers are trying out the game. Punted halfway around the globe in turn 1 and people deliberately ramming you as you try to pass. Fun none the less but....

Can't I build my own, let's say, B-Class car and race it online? All the race categories only allow homologated cars?

Game is fun, the Loot box thing isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Guess playing every Forza really helps in getting extra credits.

Can't wait to play it on the xbox One x

It's pay to earn, despite the fact that you can't use real money, yet.

The reason why people don't have a problem with the prize crates is that they enjoy the 'game' part of the gameplay loop, it's a racing game, and you earn CR by racing, and we all enjoy racing right?.

If you look at the prize crates in isolation, then maybe they aren't too bad, yet (no crystal ball obviously), but these things can change, you also need to look at the entire gameplay loop, and the way that cars are now tied behind collection tiers, and the way you can overcome this gated car system with prize crates, to see the real situation with the loot crates.

Regardless of where you stand on the issue, no one should be happy with the way gameplay features, and risk / reward systems are being funneled into microtransaction driven RNG loot crates in full priced triple A games.

When an open championship isn't really open because you can't buy any car you want due to the tier system...

And I can't do the open wheel championship because all the cars are locked behind the tier system? Why is this championship on the first ring of the ladder then?

I'm actually going to try to play the entire game without opening loot crates. ;p I don't care for the cars that much, because I own and driven most of them anyway in Forza 6. ;) This means I can focus only on the new cars from F6's and Horizon's DLC's, because I didn't buy them.

I agree. The car collector Tier List is irritating. And I don't understand why there's 2 events in the first championship where you have to be Rank 4?

I think the idea is that you should try different things from different cups, not 100% entire one cup and then move on to the next one.

To push people into getting prize crates of course.

That is the only reason cars are gated by tiers, and the prize crates overcome this gating.

I think I'll also not buy anymore loot crates until I've managed to obtain every car that's available to obtain normally. Fuck the exclusive cars in crates.

Like, I guess I'll still buy the mod only crates because that basically gives more cr, even though it's a terrible pay cr to get more cr system that obviously only exists to get the player to look at the loot crane screen a lot and get tempted to pay.

I tried the 300.000cr loot box and it gave me the Honda NSX. The crate guaranteed a car but can't remember what kind.

Buying a crate doesn't guarantee you get the car you want from a Tier you don't have access too.

On the other hand I can't imagine it taking that long to access higher Tier cars? I played for about an hour and reached Tier 2.

It's exponential of course, and of course you can (try to) shortcut it by buying super rare crates that might have a super rare car in it to bump your tier rating up.

I am just playing as I normally would, only brought two crates for a test, and I am at tier 4 in 14hrs.

I would imagine tier 5 is probably in excess of 20 hrs of 'normal' (no grind, no crates) play time?

Been mostly playing on Xbox. But spent more time with the PC version today.

Very odd performance from the game. On track the game runs great - smooth 60fps.

But the menus still hitch terribly. And often menu items don't load in correctly so there are placeholders. Even worse are the loading times to get to the track. Much much longer than the Xbox version, yet on PC I have the game on SSD.

There seems to be some horrible problem loading and I have no idea what it is.

Here's a video from MotoGames showing opening 19 lucky car crates (the 300k ones) in a row:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT2D421EdTI

You can quickly google or even judge for yourselves without looking at the prices if they're worth it. ;)

He seems to have gotten a few expensive cars, but mostly historical ones that aren't that useful in the game. He also got a few "crappy" rewards like the Alfa 4C which costs 135k in F7.

You just can't beat the endorphin rush of opening a random loot crate!

I wonder what the odds are of getting a legendary, based on that video, about 1 in 10?, I wish they were forced to disclose this kind of information, are legendaries exclusive to prize crates?.

Got the gamer yesterday, when I booted up Maple Valley the first thing that occurred to me: Wtf happened to this track? Why are there advertisements on this map, why aren't the trees hanging over the track, why do the trees in general look worse.

It doesn't feel like Maple Valley, what went wrong Turn10?

I was smart and selected the open wheel championship as my first career race and got the brabham open wheeler for free :p

Fuck yo tiers.

Yeah I believe that you get the first car for free no matter what. Most of us fucked up and chose the hot hatch championship which has cheap cars. For example in the old supercars championship you could choose a McLaren F1 as your first car. And that one normally costs almost a million. :/

Yup I chose the McLaren F1 as my freebie.

I chose the F40.

Well it would have been nice for them to tell us that unless we go for one of those championships first we would be locked out of those other ones for a while.

How was I supposed to know?

Yep, lots of bad feedback on that track. It's obvious they sacrificed the visuals here. Shame, could've been special.

The game tells you "the first car is on us".

At that point many people might think "aha shall back out of this hot hatch menu and choose something more expensive".

OP the Tier List is incorrect. Looking at the list I thought I would be Tier 10 as I've played since 2007 (FM2). In reality I'm only Tier 5 because you have to achieve certain things in each game that counts towards your Tier Score.

See here https://rewards.forzamotorsport.net/en-US

The list is telling you what driver suit rewards you get
As you are tier 5 you get the first 4

2 Forza Motorsport 7 Tier 2 Badge
3 Forza Horizon 3 Tier 3 Badge
4 Forza Motorsport 6 Tier 4 Badge
5 Forza Horizon 2 Tier 5 Badge

But you don't need to open loot crate's to get the cars unlocked those come up as you race and improve your XP and open up the tier levels that way.

Please stop saying that the loot crate's are where the locked cars are that's false they may come up there but they are also available if you don't touch the Loot Crate by improving your tier levels the cars that are rewarded improve.

Personally I like the tier lock because it keeps me from automatically working to buy that top car that I always go to and I skip over a whole bunch of cars I never end up using again in the game.

So there's more reasons behind it than just loot crate's in fact that is a red herring.

I don't think that's the case, I believe there are (150?) cars that are locked behind either the loot crate system, the special dealer, or the Forzathon, that you can't get elsewhere.

There is zero proof so far that there are no loot crate exclusive cars. If there aren't, good, but until that is 100% confirmed there is no way to know.

Since the game is in its early days, the reports are still far from conclusive, but I've heard some people (not enough to be concrete info) say that they got FE cars from the crates. You cannot get any other FE car other than the Monte Carlo Donk and the Foxbody Mustang on the level up bonus screen, I have an entire fleet of those things.

No I do not believe there are any cars that are solely in a Loot Crate.

If you read the description it says the lot cars are available in about four different ways to unlock. Loot crate is one of the ways.

I don't have the game in front of me at the moment.

Edit. ..
There also is no conclusive proof that they are only available in loot crate's again the game it was just released it's far too early to jump to these conclusions and say the sky is falling.

Not to mention that when auction house opens it will all be a moot point anyway as many many people will get their cars that way anyway.

I know I keep agreeing, but you seem to have the same experience I'm having, there seems almost zero facts being used to back up this loot crate assertion.

The feedback about the tiers that I think is more factual is their choice of 'common' seems odd, a Sierra Cossie RS500 or Lotus Carlton seem common, but a BMW E36 M3 is a tier up? That really doesn't stack up with reality.. I can buy an E36 M3 or E39 M5 for not much money and can find several to buy in the real world, but the Sierra/Carlton, they are mega-money and impossible to find in real life..

There are cars that you can only get doing a Showcase, and that's one of the ways of unlocking. Other cars you can only get so far doing a level up (and maybe a crate), like the Lotus Eleven and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

There are many cars still locked somewhere (around 60-80).

Yeh because those who chose the open wheel or a supercar as a freebie car are clearly skipping over all the other hundreds of cars the game has to offer. /s

The way the championships are grouped mean that you're always going to need to have to acquire mixture of cars in your garage as you progress through the game.

Translation- you like the way it forces you to play differently from how you actually want to play, unless you choose to gamble and get lucky.

That's great for YOU, but you have to understand that the only 'reason' is because of lootcrates. Were it not for them, turn10 would be happy to have you play the game the way you want to- Because giving the customer what they want was key to their revenue stream.

Yes Dan, I think all the cars will be available in one accessable form r another whithout ever opening. A Loot crate.

If I'm wrong let me know the car you need and I will find one put it up cheap in auction house just for you one day. :)

No I'm saying the tier lock and the loot crate's are not necessarily solely connected as some are trying to portray.

I think the tier levels were put in place and could or should have been put in place even without loot crate's is my point.

I think it was added as another layer of creating a feeling of accomplishment for increasing your gaming credits and XP. loot crate's are just another feature or way to access some of those Rewards. Not the sole way.

Edit,,, Dan I hope I don't have too but if I am wrong I will. :)
