I read this a few times and still didn't understand your point about your friends TV settings and what a fantasy game like destiny has to do with fh2 and drive club.

He was used to unsaturated settings where the world in his TV has less colour than even real life, and everything had a warm gritty look to it, even Destiny.

If they are used to looking at non-saturated or washed out pictures etc. then that's the only way I can understand if someone said Forza 2 looks cartoony.

I hate it when people say it has cartoony graphics... The game looks incredible.

These are photomode shots I took but the gameplay looks nearly identical in motion. The only difference is the motion blur and some of the shadows can pop in.

They took the Forza 5 engine and cut the framerate in half to give themselves more overhead for the open world gameplay. Not a terrible decision.

Not a terrible decision at all. When it's open world and more arcadey, despite the input and physics refreshing at the same rate as Forza 5, it's easier to cut down on framerate for incredible visuals like this game.

Give me 60fps or give me 30fps, just make it solid, tight and responsive.

Really, all you have to do to sell someone on a racing game is show them that their real life car is in the game lol. My friend tried to rob FM3 from me because it was so crack like addictive.

Anyway, the locked framerate is impressive with all that's going IMO, cockpit view, rain a'falling, plenty of cars on screen and nary a dip.

How is this trolling? It's my opinion and experience as a former 360 owner, and current XBO owner. And is it that surprising? If the XBO has established something up to this point is that to get fantastic visual, something is sacrificed on another end. Or if performance is sacrificed, than you know you're getting a good-looking game. It's logic, based on an established pattern.



Night and day? There is difference, but I wouldn't call it night and day. I played it on Thursday with my nephew (I got it for him when FH was $10 a few weeks back), and unless he has a superior TV, they are both very good. Maybe I need to update my plasma TV? Or maybe PG is just a great developer by putting out a very good 360 game.

Based on the DC threads, I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are defensive about FH2.

the other 2 friends yes had XB1's and neither have ever liked a racing game or had the desire to own one.

just got off the phone with one of them and he has been playing nonstop for the last 7 hours haha

That's true, although in my experience the PlayStation community is host to noticeably more people with the superiority complex and entitlement issues than any other community out there, including PC gamers. I guess two generations of complete market domination will do that to some people. But hey, it's anecdotal, and this is not the place to discuss it.

I find it extremely impressive how they were able to make a game this technically impressive in 2 years. FH1 was amazing and looked fantastic, but this is on new hardware, out less than a year after said hardware came out, and also truly open world this time around. It's so much fun, too. I'm having a blast with it. Now lets see how Drive Club fares in comparison, it'll be hard to get me to buy 2 racing games in one week... but damn it looks pretty.
