The Car list on FM.net has updated with a lot of new cars link. A few from FM2 and some new ones in there. Guess the list is almost complete now. Also 2 cars dissapeared, V8 Vantage (badned says replacement is coming) and the S4 is gone (probably DLC).

Thanks again.

Suzuka looks a whole lot better than in FM2 to me. Colors and lighting look much better...though I suppose I'm judging from an off screen vid.

Will check out the Greenawalt presentation later today. I'm assuming it's mostly stuff we already know.
Visually it looks much better, no question. Unfortunately, it's suffers from the exact same inaccuracies FM2 had.

Turn 7 is actually a very sizable hill in real life. It's no more than a molehill here. Hopefully they'll give Suzuka the Nordschleife treatment next time.

Why, O why do we have to have that speedo to the right inside the cockpit? I feel it takes away from the immersion.

If you drive automatic you dont need to know what gear your in and the cars speedo and tach are perfectly visible.

If you drive manual then the gear thing may be a factor in some older cars but some workaround would have been preferable. perhaps just that in the corner or center dash.

No?

You can turn every item of the HUD off in the Pause options.

You can disable it. I agree that there should have been a gear indicator without the rev meter for cars that don't display the gear you're in.

Regarding the HUD,

The issue is, I only want to remove the Speed/Tacho in cockpit view, shame there is no option just for this.. I was messing with the views, and had to keep switching the tacho on/off as I changed view which was kind of annoying..

This.

I like the fact I can remove it but they should have the option to remove it specifically in the cockpit view, where it could be deemed unnecessary. Other views, not so much.

That being said, I've raced in the cockpit view now without it and I do like it more. The Ferrari tachometer is the only one not totally in view. Although I can race without it in the Ferrari, it does tell me there's gonna be times where I'll need the overlayed one, unfortunately.

Okay. I could no longer resist. I took the plunge on the clubsport wheel/pedals. October cannot come soon enough.

Same here. Also ordered the Rennsport wheel stand as well. For me, November cannot come soon enough!

Anyway, I'm off to tell the Mrs about the purchase...wish me luck!

Figure I'll go ahead and post this. Here's the "racing seat" I built about two years ago for Forza 2. Cost about $35 total.

The seat is from a Hyundai Accent (which is actually the car I drive), grabbed from a junkyard for around 15 bucks. It does slide forward and back. The casters, nuts and bolts were about $20. The wood was just stuff from my Dad's garage, the red boards from another project. And yes, that is a sock under the brake pedal, had to do something to keep from locking the brakes.

any chance you can PM me some more pics of your set up, i'd love to use it as a reference when i make mine

For those who can't download the demo, i do have a 48-hr code to give, so may be who wants to get their hands on the demo, will have a chance.

Just PM me.

Awesome. Is the Porsche 962 still in ?

pardon my ignorance, but why the 962 and not the 917. Isn't the 917 far more memorable and interesting? Or has the movie hyped it too much?

Because I loved the 962 driving in FM2 :) Especially on the nurb.

Nah, the 917 isn't overhyped a bit; a car that pumped out up to 1,600 hp and could out-accelerate anything this side on an F1 car deserves every bit of fame it gets. I'm no Porsche fan, but it was an absolute beast.

A few exceptions notwithstanding, most notably the Audi R15 and Lola-Aston Martin B09/60, Turn 10 has done a good job getting more modern LMPs in the game, and that's great. Should make for more varied races on La Sarthe.

No problem, check your PM. I'm rather surprised so many like the thing. A friend of my niece was over the other day (the girl was 17) and asked me if it was the setup from a driver's ed class. :lol

So which Fanatec wheel is worth getting? I read the features and stuff but I'm still confused - the "Clubsport" editions seem painfully expensive.

Excuse the ignorance but what are the most realistic settings to have the assists set to? I mean I know theres no autobrake or some magical suggested line but regarding anti-lock and such what are racers normally allowed to have on their car?

Race cars generally have no assists at all, some series may allow ABS but it'd be quite rare. Production cars out on a track will usually have all traction and stability control things turned off, leaving only the ABS which can't be just turned off with a switch like the other systems.
