I'm using a playseat with industrial strength Velcro for the wheel, then I have the pedals with more Velcro and a cushion over the little hole to rest my heels on :)

Oh for fucks sake, first after you've checked the FAQ, registered an account, put in all your details (including which country you're a resident of) and pressed the "Place Order" button do they tell you they don't ship outside the UK. Bastards.

Out of curiosity, what is proper etiquette while racing other people online?

I did not own Forza 2 and know nothing about the online experience. That said, I can't wait to take Forza 3 out for a spin.

I do everything I can to avoid contact with other cars on the track. Is that the 'proper' way to race, or is contact allowed?

contact is allowed if it was unavoidable or if someone else caused you to spin and hit someone else. "My bad" or "Sorry" is usually enough for most people to let it go. If your comfortable with the people that are playing with you then you can tell them where you are as you pass them if the corner(s) is tricky.

Sometimes its also best to let off a bit in the beginning to avoid first corner accidents. there's always idiots who think they can win a race in the first corner. Sure if they get the lead on the first turn they usually pull away but from my experience in FM2 they were garbage when it came to actually racing close/clean with others around them. once in a while you'll get the idiot who thinks he's Takumi and will go into the first turn full speed and try to drift out X___X. He'll then try to convince everyone in the lobby that drifting is faster than grip in road racing using shit he saw in Initial D, read about on the internet(cardomain :lol ) or Import Tuner(r.i.p Sport Compact Car)

It's not so much you hitting anyone thats the problem...it's then ruining your good lines when you're trying to get through corners in the fastest way possible. Seriously, every time you throw your car sideways to get through a corner (like turn 2 at laguna seca) there's some jerk still driving back wheels behind front who t-bones into you and then complains just because he doesn't understand how to drive on the edge of the D-Dimension.

I'd love to be able to set rooms with others with a fanatec wheel with forced manual w/clutch

Really though I can understand pushing to the inside in a corner provide you can actually make the corner. Even rough racing where people try to use your car to take a corner a bit I don't mind as much. What really pisses me off is people who you are lapping getting bent out of shape and slamming into you, or aiming to wreck you on purpose.

YES!!! So glad I've got an LE preorder and I'm REALLY glad that community awesomeness will be so well integrated into it.

FUCKING AWESOME!!

And WAY TO GO Jube!!!

Thanks man. Thats awesome I just saw that. I hope you guys like it, it ended up being a lot of layers (997 on the sides, 700 on the top, 2-300 total front/back).

It feels like a crime having to play this game with a controller after watching the videos posted above. In the demo, my best time is 1.00.6 using a controller and the Porchse but it sucks having to use one. It's too hard to hold consistant lines and make minor changes to keep the car balanced while trying to get super fast laptimes. I need to think of a way to get a wheel setup going.....

I'm completely opposite with the wheel. Can't even come in first place on medium with the wheel but can get first on hard setting with all assists off using the controller. :lol

Wheel's a lot more fun though.

I really hate the Time Attack Evo. I like modding up an evo, but for some reason the Time Attack Evo always felt horrible to drive.

Bought the racing suit and helmet for my avatar, don't think I'll do something like that again but this game just got me so hyped for it!

So, reading today's Car Of The Day installment really got me interested in learning how to tune shit in Forza 3. Any pointers on where to start? I remember when NFSU2 came out I spent a few months following Import Tuner Magazine just because it got me into the "scene" I guess.

Anyone know if the game itself will have any kind of hand holding or pointers for the uninitiated?

FM2 already had a little explanatory on each parameter you could tune, saying what taking it lower or higher/etc would do. If you read those you could get a basic understanding. Testing cars would help a lot too i think, taking one car and subjecting it slowly to each parameter to understand them.

I doubt it.

Though maybe Jube3 can enlighten us? How about painting on the windows? Especially for touring and gt cars, or are windows completely offlimit?

17 days to go. That Suzuka video VVV Mars VG posted, along with watching a bit of the recent Japanese GP, reminded me just how much of a love-hate relationship I have with the circuit. Can't wait.

It's not actually trolling if you don't admit it

It's given me a newfound appreciation of it, actually. Been hot lapping like nuts.

Yeah, and the Elite one in Europe is just boring black Elite. They want to push Forza as alternative to that other game yet, they sure don't act like it is. Treat it like a big release a la Halo of racing games and may be people will get into the hype. A Forza colors console with pair of orange controller would be hot. I would even imported one if it even was Europe only.

BTW, love that U2 album but it seems, everyone seems to dislike it. I think it's one of their better one.

Yeah, I would easily prefer a Forza Bundle...even a plain black elite with the 250 gig HDD would of been fine with me, but make the box all Forza 3. I like your idea of the controllers...that would be pretty cool. If I was MS I would of done a bundle here in the US with the LCE version of the game bundled with 2 controllers.

Yeah. No Line on the Horizon is a great album...songs are even better live though! Very good live!

Drove the two and a half hours to the city today and got a pre-order for the LCE. EB Games in Canada (one in Edmonton anyway) still has them available!

That's exactly what they are doing, at least in Europe:

Why couldnt they have released this here in America....man, I think they would of gotten some big sales...this game and Modern Warfare 2 come out 3 weeks apart so it is not like they would of had sales go to one and not the other.

It appears racers sell alot more in Euro countries, and FPSs sell more in NA, methinks.

I've always loved Suzuka. There is no other part of any track in the world like those esses.

Somebody make an alternative boxart thread.
