does that mean we'll be able to access our screenies online? because I've got a whole series of Neogaf liveries I've been working on . . .

I doubt it since that probably ties into the FM webpage, so unless you guys have some secret area when you log on the website you'll probably have to find another way. But i dont have a disk so I have no clue.

It's not actually trolling if you don't admit it

Im gonna try and stay up a little late tonight (3 am est), Ill put up a private stream for the gaffers in this thread. Ill try and get some answers going while I play, dont mock my driving though haha, its not very good! Also if I smash into a wall randomly its because my frames drops in the capture window. Just to get the excuses out of the way :lol

This sounds great; definitely something I'd be willing to stay up for.

Really looking forward to the embargo lifting and the inevitable flood of content it will bring. Just under 3 weeks to go now in the US. I might just make it.

Wow, the Laguna Seca comparison is really badly put together. They've also added in NFS: Shift, just for shits and giggles it seems.

It looks basically the same in Forza 3 as it does in Forza 2, though. Lighting seems a bit better, and colours seem to have a bit more pop, but the actual track etc looks exactly the same.

Very hard to tell for sure, though. They should have just done a lap in Forza 2, one in 3, then just played them back side-by-side.

God, the livery editor is so much better this time around.

I have taken a little time out from building VIP livs to rework the neogaf team emblem I created for 2 (you remember, the 'sharktooth gaffy' one). It is SoOooo much nicer now. There are a couple variants, based upon which type of racing you are doing (hotlaps or drifting). I'll try to put some pics up when I can, and the final liveries and vinyls will be free to all at launch.:D
how much lower res are the liverys in game? i definitely know they are but no sure how much more

Yea I would agree with what modus said. If you used the livery a bit you might remember in forza 2 lining things up was a complete bitch. Thats gone now, the quality of the canvas editor is fantastic, its damn near Illustrator quality. Its so nice being able to line things up perfectly in there now, since theres none of that compression effect (when it goes blurry a little bit).

The game does show the compression on really small text, but its nowhere near as bad as before which is awesome. Ill show you an example after the embargo is up. The license plates that you create for example in F2 can get very pixelated around the text. But they hold up really well here ingame, I was able to place a drop shadow on the plates to give them a nice faux 3d look.

You rock. I can't wait to check out the new livery editor.

Edit: Doh! beaten. Ah well

The physics engine is impressive. At the wheel -- er, controller -- you can actually feel the behavior of each at limit. You can feel an open differential spin one wheel, the downforce press on the car at speed, the loss of traction from abused tires. You can hear the tires go from push to slide. It's no substitute for the real thing -- what videogame is? -- but every staffer who played the game was impressed with the portrayal.

"Forza Motorsport 3" is a success. Its range of accessibility means just about anyone can pick up the controller and enjoy, from the hardcore enthusiast or gamer to the customizer or the casual player. Its staggering amount of content means there's always something new to try, and its replay value means the DVD will remain in your Xbox for a long time. It will in ours.

Verdict: Worth every penny. And then some.

Good day for the baby to wake me up early.

Love the fact this game spans the motoring press to and they give a different slant of reviews (with no scores yey!)

Jube can't wait for your stream, also the official thread going up on the hour too?

How is that a review?? I see no number! How am I supposed to know if they liked it or not and by how much?

Well the end of the review said worth every pennies since the game is about $60.00 so that's 60 x 100 = 6000 Pennies or if you get LE then it's 80 X 100 so 8000 Pennies!

Seriously... I'm sure most review sites had to rethink the scale on which they've reviewed all other games after they played yours...

Man I hope this will be as great as the original Forza was back in the day...me and a friend stayed up all night at my pad, each with our own xbox consoles going through the single player, building up our evo's and beating down everything online (Point to Point bitches) :D

Good review, but it should be noted that when he talks about being "locked" into calender mode I'm not sure he realized you can hop over to the grid view and pick any event you want at any time.

Personally, I much prefer to play through the Event List mode. There's a ridiculous amount of depth to this and I think I played 14 straight hours last Saturday and didn't get farther than maybe 3.5% completion. :lol

I fully expect these kinds of scores from here on out. FM3 improves on its predecessor in every way, and I couldn't be happier with what they've turned out.

Just got done reading Hilary's review at IGN and the MotorTrend review. Good stuff. Ours (GameTrailers) should be up in the afternoon or early evening.

Teasing. Very glad to see the game getting good reviews. The moment I played that demo I thought it was a special game and really something that could bring in even a non-car nut like me. Well done Turn 10.
