Read the quote as much as you can and then you supposed to understand how we can say they lied to you , for months.

Stop defending & encouraging that liar.

I can't believe some of you guys, I really can't. You have no respect for yourself?

holy shit man it's just videogames :lol

The visuals are absolutely insane, my dad thought I was watching a documentary because I was just enjoying the scenery (stopped on the side of the track).

As long as the photomode shots are as good as what Che has been giving us, i'm happy. I'm usually in first place and bonnet/cockpit cam anyways, so any lod changes go unnoticed ;)

Game is really fun Che, thanks turn 10.

First of all, at Turn 10, we don't bullshot -- which means everything you see here is real-time taken from in-game gameplay.Naturally, the game will actually look better by the time it comes out later this fall.

You read the quote. Then re-read it. And then read it again.

They said everything you see here is real-time taken from in-game gameplay.

A bullshot is a faked screenshot that does not represent what the game actually looks like.

If you can take photo mode shots of your Lambo in the game and it looks as good as the screenshots they release of the same Lambo from photo mode, then it is not a bullshot. That's how it looks in game when in photo mode. There is no lie there.

Now, if for example they had taken a replay, swapped all the car models for the highest resolution cars that are only available from the menus, rendered it out at 1920x1080 and performed some touch ups in Photoshop, and said it was a screenshot from a replay, that'd be a bullshot.

Yes, for the player's car, they have a very high level of detail model that they only show during the start of the race, and in photo mode, and Che mistakenly said they don't display this high level of detail model only during photo mode and that it was the same car model you see while you're racing. Big fucking deal. The game looks great regardless.

This is my last comment on the matter and I think I'll just start adding people to my ignore list who keep beating the thoroughly dead horse.

Finally, our interview is ready to be viewed.

Taxigamer's Forza Motorsport 3 page with many off-screen videos for those who haven't seen them
Link to the interview of Dan Greenawalt

As always, HD downloadable version is playable on both PS3 and Xbox 360, so that fanboys from every sides can enjoy it. :lol
Youtube version also incoming. Check our channel (click to go)

Sorry about the sound, it's not the best but we weren't in a separate room to do the interview... :(

Here are the topics we talk about in the interview :
-Relation with manufacturers since Forza 1
-How are chosen and modeled cars (he actually skipped the second part)
-Audi partnership
-Intellisponse and TofuR leaks
-VIP leaks
-DLC plans leaks
-Editing livery with Photoshop
-Microsoft reaction to 2 discs
-Project Natal

We had other questions but unfortunately we had only 10 minutes...

PS : I know there's an error in one of the title but it took so long to encode... Maybe we'll correct it later.

John Wendl interview from Games Convention Asia, some interesting tidbit about the Fanatec wheel:
IGN AU/IGN Readers: What do you think of the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel? One of our readers commented that he thinks the PS3 has better wheel options.

John Wendl: Well, there's a new wheel that we're introducing with Forza 3, and that's in partnership with Fanatec that makes the Porsche branded wheel. It's a premium wheel; it has 900 degree support, it has an H pattern shifter, a clutch pedal, and we have clutch control in the game as well, it has really high quality force feedback. In Forza – unlike other games – we separate force feedback and rumble. Typically, the physics simulators try to do everything through force feedback, and it doesn't work.

What we do is we simulate torque alignment on the front wheels, like when you're drifting or sliding, the front wheels want to track in a straight line, and we simulate the torque alignment with the force feedback of the wheel. We simulate traction with rumble, so when the rear wheels are breaking loose and starting to vibrate and scrub, we simulate that with rumble so you can feel traction with the rumble and torque alignment of the front wheel with feedback and it gives you a little bit better an experience to predict where the car is and how to catch it and that kind of thing.
And that combined with the new Fanatec wheel, I think is pretty cool.
More and more console games better start supporting the features of higher-end wheels.

Man this threads gone to shit.

The game looks and will most definitely be amazing.I just hope the auction house has a Arsenal emblem day 1 and that will complete the package for me.

Anyhoo, quick question for bish. When the actual official FM3 thread goes up before retail launch, are the same ban rules in effect for that thread like this one?

I hope so, in fact if they are i will applaud the mods for some forward thinking. By simply having a troll... sorry comparison thread a lot of people have already wayyy overplayed their hand, we know the names no need to repeat them in here.

So if they are sighted in the official thread after making it clear they have absolutely no interest in the game so they will hopefully be dealt with.

Make one! I did a pitch-perfect-pun-intended World Cup Germany (MeisterWelt Deutshland?) logo early on last time around with F2's primitive tools, and it looked excellent. Arsenal should be easy.

I was highly impressed by the game's E3 debut...then became less and less interested as more screens and vids came out, but man that demo has resold me on the game. I too thought the visuals were a little weak until playing it for myself. It's definitely a step up from FM2 and looks great overall; sure there are a few jaggies (much less than FM2) and the roll-overs aren't as exciting as they should be, but the game still looks nice and the racing is near perfection. In addition, Grid's rewind feature is greatly appreciated to cut down on any unnecessary frustrations.

My lack of artistic abilities in all forms is laughable and I would not want to embarrass myself trying,But I guess I'll give it a shot and use it as a placeholder until another user creates the inevitable pixel perfect rendition and puts mine to shame.:lol

One thing to note is that the Fanatec 911 Turbo S wheel itself doesn't contain rumble like the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel. Instead, you need to buy the Fanatec Clubsport Pedals, which cost $200 or are bundled with the wheel in the "Clubsport Edition" that costs $480.

Thanks to some people from "the other thread".

Anyway, is Suzuka still in the game ?

Yeah every FM2 and FM2 DLC track is in there.

And like I said earlier on the page, which is clogged with ..., they've started to show a new car everyday. Koenigsegg CCGT today. You can find it on the website, though I think we've seen it before.

Wow dude, just wow. :lol You really need to calm down and not let something so asinine get to you. Seriously. You've got to learn to let the little shit go. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about how your Presidents keep lying to you, over real, meaningful shit.

Oh yeah, PR lies and/or exaggerates. Get used to it. Or throw a fit everytime, up to you.

I did the same thing, I think to you actually!

We should all have a Forza Motoreunion. Get Purg3 on the horn!

I'm shocked at how much better the MS wheel works then it does for Forza 2. I actually was able to improve my times by using it. Also, one thing I'm noticing in the demo that I really like is that my car doesn't go careening off the track with every small bump by an opposing car. Very nice demo and really it seams like the game will be much better then F2.

so i never played forza until the demo and i really liked it

i was just wondering how does the single player/campaign experience work in forza games? is it like gran turismo's career mode?

Also, in previous games, did turn10 have a crapload of DLC or are most of the cars available on disc?
And i got the impression that you're gonna need to install one of the discs on the hard drive? how big is this install... i have a 20 gig, and with one game already installed, that leaves me with little space to spare

Honor and shame are huge parts of it.

Forza 3's...

...not bad! :D

I got the angle wrong and my cell phone sucks for pics. The reason my light's and side blinker is so dark is b/c of VEIL. The windows are 5% tint and I did the entire front at 35%. I of course have the stock rims. Though I've added some mods (Cobb SRI, Forged BPV and a Test Pipe replacing the 2nd cat).

I have no issue with the gameplay visuals having less AA, AF and blur. That's expected omissions from photo mode/PR shots to gameplay. What bugged me was that we were told the car models etc were exactly the same too. When in actual fact the vehicles are far less poly's and less detailed going from Photomode to gameplay.
I'm the one that wrote that old post that Che "WRONG!"-ed so memorably. So, I find it humorous that, unlike yourself, I don't care that lower-poly models are used outside the showroom and photo modes. In fact, I think it's kinda neat that Turn 10 implemented a car-porn mode using settings that would be impossible to support during 60FPS gameplay. Kudos. They should portray it as such, accept their accolades, and move on. (Actually I'm pretty sure the better-informed members of Turn 10 have been doing just that. I'm almost positive I read about that those high-poly model "modes" in an interview way back when.) I mean, think about it. It bugs you (nib95) that the photo-mode is better than Che would have had you believe. How weird is that? :D

The sad irony is that I was just expressing my interest/curiosity about the eye-candy modes, when Che decided to set me straight. He certainly won that day. But it's kinda come around to bite him in the ass now. He's managed to turn a positive into a negative. Now, instead of photo-mode being awesome, gameplay-mode is somehow disappointing. (I don't agree with that.) Imagine how much smoother things would have gone if he had just accepted the photo-mode compliments, given those developers their due, and stuck to the facts.

IMO, Che is a bit of a fanboy. And not in the good, support-the-team sense either. Things can fall by the wayside when he's in a rush to defend or attack. He chose to interpret my post as an insult, and in his haste to "zing" me in front of his fans, claimed something that wasn't actually true. I really doubt it was even a lie, in his eyes. He's just not particularly well informed. Or observant. Or tactful.

The game still looks fun, though. And I'm sure the photo-mode will be gorgeous. (That's not a backhanded compliment, either.)

Speaking of the wife, she just had to play the game last night. She literally could not put it down. Like a crack attic that needed their next fix. She's a non-gamer and I think she’s hooked. Anyhow she is ready for some head to head.

Wait, what? The wheel itself has 3 motors for FFB. Yes, the stock pedals don't and the clubsports do, but the wheel itself has always had force feedback.

WRONG! ; )

The Turbo S wheel has one force-feedback motor, and two (2) rumble motors.

Well, force feedback does not necessarily mean rumble. You can have one without the other.

However, I think I was wrong about it not having rumble.

I read some conflicting information, and interpreted it as the wheel only have FFB motors for force feedback and no rumble, but it turns out it seems to have 1 motor for force feedback and 2 motors for rumble.

Which is good because I was actually a bit turned off by a lack of rumble and didn't want to get the expensive clubsport pedals.

Well said. I'd like to think everyone who was personally "hurt" by whatever insults they felt they suffered can have their say and move on like this.

I haven't been this excited for a game for a long time, and unlike FM2 the demo has exceeded my expectations in the graphical department (actually in pretty much every department). Speaking of a demo, I think it's commendable that T10 have releases a demo a month before the game releases, much as they did with FM2. A demo is the ulitmate truth in my opinion - no lies, no bullshots, no hiding things under the carpet - I know what I'm getting in the gameplay department well ahead of time and that gives me plenty of time to cancel my preorder if I want.

So, have your say guys and move on. Look forward to a great game but, if the demo isn't your thing, don't buy the game and just leave the thread. If the official thread is full of dickheads ruining my buzz because they're discussing ad nauseum what a PR guy said months ago rather than the actual game I won't be a happy camper. Get a dartboard and put Che's face on it if that's cathartic for you, but don't turn the official thread into anything other than a discussion of the game.

well, surely those menu models couldn't be used during gameplay (not without some active lod like other games are doing :p i never noticed a lack of polys during a race anyway) but i was expecting something closer to them at least during replays.

Actually, if the game did keep the high lod model for replays only, and only for the car the camera is following at the moment (the game does load when you choose a different car to focus on during a replay so...) few would have noticed -things only get bad when you switch to closeup cameras anyway- and even fewer among them would have complained, and i believe the engine wouldn't have too much of a hard time handling that. Maybe they can still patch it :p :p :p :p

Anyway, speaking of more important things.
Seems like no one has received his Fanatec yet ? I can't wait to hear impressions; mine should be here with the second shipment (mid oct, hopefully)

Lying to the community for months is kosher but calling the liar as a liar is not kosher.:lol I'll say " sorry guys , I misspoke, for months !" if mods say it is not "kosher".

Oh and , I see lots of Juniors here defending the liar. Nice ,some people learnt not to sign up GAF with corporate email. Good progress.

Holy crap! I had my Racing wheel in the closet because I wanted to eventually get rid of it (didn't feel right when playing forza 2). Anyways, hooked it and when a few laps in the Forza 3 demo. Wow! The thing rocks. Guess I'm going to hang onto it afterall.
Only thing that sucks is that I got rid of a sick looking stainless steel frame that I welded up a few years ago. Had to toss it when I moved. :(

Yeah, the wheel surprised the shit out of me when I tried it. I too was thinking of getting rid of it in favour of the expensive Fanatec option for use with GT5 as well, but I think I'll hang on since the MS wheel plays so damn well with this game. Hopefully by the time GT5 drops there will be cheaper cross platform options for me.

Pity about you ditching your stainless setup though :(
