Do you need gold for demo's? The last I remember, some demo's came out a few days earlier if you had gold, but otherwise silver was fine?

I had a similar experience with GT5. Hadn't fired it up for several months, logged in after PSN came up (so was maybe offline in GT5 for a total of 4 months?) and had a few million accrued from my shared drivers. Was a nice surprise until I forgot about the 20,000,000CR limit.

Yeah, and specially with the cockpit camera when there are a lot of light sources (SSR5). It makes tearing appear as well. But anyway :p

Honestly, people keep building up the fact they are pushing all the "casual" stuff and it's because those are the biggest inclusions people will notice. Forum goers are going to notice the lighting, but a vast majority of the players are going to notice Top Gear and AutoVista.

Plus, if you read some of the interviews, those are the questions being asked. So far ISR is the only place I've really seen that asks questions most of us would give a shit about.

There was a press release for 1 million sales and 2 million sales, but not for 3 iirc. The game did worst then 2 on the US but better on EU. Saying it sold more then Forza 2 might not be true.

i said this earlier, ISR are the best interviewers becuse they ask the real questions like tires, suspension and damage. while sites like gamespot ask about top gear football

There where all the 'milestone' press releases, and then the reported by various sites that track these things as


FM2: 4.02M
FM3: 4.91M

It's got no Vs slant to it at all, it was about the statement that it was an ailing series that was pitched at the wrong market, which I believe from all the info I've seen is not the case at all.. :)

There's no official LTD of Forza 3 (I think) but last time I checked, the leaderboard was over 4M so it's probably close or above 5M, which isn't bad at all. I remember that Forza 3 had massive legs in the UK so I suppose 4 will do even more with Top Gear included.

Racing games (in both consoles ;)) are usually bundled, but I think it's fair to say that FM3 sold more than FM2, especially considering the bigger user base. The % may have fallen, but it does for everything as we go through a generation.

Sorry, i didn't know the source i quoted was just guessing numbers,

However i found an article in which someone asked T10 directly.
The answer was 'close to 4 Millions worldwide'. That's as of June 2010, so 5M by now definately seems possible.

Now, where were we...oh, of course.

Just don't respond to those kind of people, I stopped reading at the 1080P part. No racing sim on consoles is 1080P lol.

semi related but I do find the upscaling of the 360 in 1080p mode rather good at what it does, it really helped with a few jaggy games I had and use to play in 1440x900 for years until I bought a new monitor last christmas, huge change in visual clarity.

We know Turn10 sent the game to certification last wednesday so I guess the game being gold would be it.

F3 nearly did if you remember the leaked lists, but when it's just cars with no bonuses like their own challenges or arcade modes it can go f off, not interested in just cars.

Maybe Turn 10 really HAVE run out of things to tell us. Next thing we know it will be "Big Announcement next week! Dan's having his beard trimmed!!!11"

And Saladine, you do know that people are now gonna hold you personally responsible if night racing at SpaHurst doesn't make it in, don't you..? ;)

Game being gold can only mean that the reveals will go into full gear and they may want to celebrate it by hopefully releasing tons of images and infos. A demo this early would be awesome but I don't want to be disappointed so I'm lowering my expectations.

I agree about a DLC pass, if priced correctly, I would definitely be in too.

I would love a pass for FM 4 considering the staggering amount of DLC that I'm expecting.

I think they announced that you don't have to buy cars in packs anymore and you can buy them individually.
