Car (garage) reveals today?
I suspect so. Apparently, they are upping the ante and revealing more than usual from here on in..evil_as_skeletor said:Car (garage) reveals today?

I bet there's at least 5 muscle cars in the next announcement.saladine1 said:I suspect so. Apparently, they are upping the ante and revealing more than usual from here on in..

Agreed. For some reason in those shots there's not *quite* the sense of realism as with GT5, but it's edging closer. I imagine with some contrast/brightness/colour tweaking it should be every bit as good.Slayer-33 said:Nice shots shinzor
The colors/track details/cars metallic look is all coming together along nicely man. IBL making shit sexy as hell.

Actually, now I think about it, the shots that don't sit well with me are where the position of the camera isn't something you'd expect IRL ie. the in-game yet 3rd person views. Most of the others look fine and the last pic of the red Lexus looks nigh-on perfect.Slayer-33 said:What I like is that shit is looking arguably LUSH (for a racing game) and full, not hollow at all, I can't explain it but that's just the vibe I'm getting from the game.
Cant wait for us to get some direct screencaps from the frame buffer with some AA/bullshottery on
It would've been awesome if at the end of the TGUS episode they were like, "you can try to beat Tanner's time with the Forza demo available now!" Talk about a missed opportunity!Shaneus said:Actually, now I think about it, the shots that don't sit well with me are where the position of the camera isn't something you'd expect IRL ie. the in-game yet 3rd person views. Fuck. Need demo now.

I'll keep working on it lol... Totally noob with this shit, G Rom, shinn or Jube3 should make some covers lol[/QUOTE]
That actually looks pretty great. I'd take it over the limited edition boxart. :p

HELL YES HOOK IT STRAIGHT TO MY VEINS.

I like simple boxarts.
Slayer-33 said:Not really, needs more details
I plan to make a legit retail looking one with back of box screens etc and a totally clean minimalist one with no logos.
Mascot said:I was going to post the same question. I don't think they will be used for autovista (as that seems locked to the white warehouse from everything we've seen), but I'd love to be able to use them for home spaces. I'm a little concerned that we've only seen the white warehouse so far out of all of those shown in that gif. We've seen the Stelio Pass and Top Gear homespaces, but those aren't shown in that montage.
I'm starting to think that the clinical and basic white warehouse deals with IBL better than any of the other environments, and that's why this feature is only available there. I've got another theory that New York and Positano were dropped because of performance hits as IBL tried to cope with all the varied lighting from environment textures so close to the cars.
adelante said:Absolutely LOVE the colors and lighting, it'll look pretty awesome with a whole grid of cars on that track
You're on!Shaneus said:I bet there's at least 5 muscle cars in the next announcement.
Yup. It will be technically impressive but the tweaks they need to do aren't really related to hardware. I'm worried that seeing as it's gone gold, that's the last we'll see of graphical tweaks... though we did get gear shifting post-launch with FM3 so maybe we'll be lucky.Iknos said:Still overall looks good because the track does look good in terms of detail. Like Slayer says it does look lush and detailed. Slick framerate and 12-16 cars on it with full out liveries it will look hot...but it could still look better. The modelling is there and the texturing is there they just need a guy to tweak the lighting to look more realistic is all I'm saying.
Too bad Turn10 doesn't like making new tracksSlayer-33 said:hahaha I wish T10 would put in most of the worlds F1 tracks, that shit would be sick.

KARKILLA?
Are corners named (on tracks where corners have names) during replays now?
Has this been mentioned before?
If so it's be cool if they named corners on the fantasy tracks as well. Turn 10 could run a comp on their forums to name corners on certain circuits. I'd suggest "Balls Of Steel" for the high speed right-hander that takes you on to the home straight on Maple Valley, and "The Bastard" for the off-camber uphill right-hander just before the chicanes.
By the way, Karkilla is a great name for a corner. :lol
I personally think the lighting looks great simply because the game isn't plagued by harsh highlights, save for those shots where you're facing the sun. The only real problem here imho is the general contrast in some shots where the blacks seemed crushed (then again gamma levels is something the 360 internally ramps up, which doesn't help given the inherent compression in video captures).Iknos said:Disagree about the lighting they need to hire someone who understands lighting still.
Looks much better than FM3 I'll admit that.

Slayer-33 said:We need the lighting and color guys to make a full analysis of the game when released and all the suggestions coralled into one list.
Same for the physics guys, vehicle sound guys, car exterior customization guys, livery editor guys, vehicle model accuracy guys, track master guys, photomode guys, netcode guys, soundtrack guys etc-fucking-cetera.
T10 is in this shit for the longhaul and all great suggestions need to be made early since our guys over at T10 get going quick!
Let's get on it asapMascot said:This was done after FM2 and FM3 (and probably after FM, too). What makes you think Turn 10 will listen to suggestions this time? Even when they ask direct questions (T10: What tracks do you want? World: Spa and Bathurst! T10: Here's Indy and Hockenshite!) the results are ignored..! :lol

still doesn't look like we'll be able to customize controls

shinnn said:some more screengrabs
I remember they did tweak some things with either 2 or 3 between when initial screens were released and the game was out. I distinctly remember a problem with pink taillights in a few screens that was fixed before (or maybe even after) the game was released.Mascot said:This was done after FM2 and FM3 (and probably after FM, too). Its definitely Camino.Mascot said:This image from the April trailer:
BADNED says it's an early rework of Camino, showing the sweeping turn at the bottom of the hill. I'm still not convinced and reckon this could be a red herring. The trees and topography scream Alpine region to me, not Montserrat. The mountain in particular are NOTHING like the famed Camino rocks. And how do you explain the snow?
Could this be an early screen of an Alpine Ring update?
Unleash the Forza detectives!
The actual corner looks similar (as do a lot of corners on mountain circuits) but the trees? The mountains? The snow?Seanspeed said:Its definitely Camino.
Definitely a mistake, just like IGN's night racing.Lakitu said:I'm skeptical about the Dubai track. Reeks of misinformation to me. Shame.
Don't see anything wrong with that, it's a completely legit shop and I've bough quite a few games from the finnish coolshop site.Mascot said:Apologies for the double post, but Coolshop has the FM4 LCE for £45 at the moment. Think this might be UK only, not sure.
Didn't link to it in case it breaks the rules.

Obviously I have not driven it. However, I do have the ability to read just about every major and minor publication/test about the car. Unanimously, the car is praised for its razor sharp handling and criticized for its overall lack of speed/acceleration compared to cars in its class (458, GTR, 911 Turbo, MP4-12c, Gallard Super Leggera, etc). Don't worry though, that other game does not do a great job with its performance ranking system either.

Background elements do look different, but BADNED has already confirmed what is pretty obviously that long, tight corner at the bottom of the run after Turn 1.Mascot said:The actual corner looks similar (as do a lot of corners on mountain circuits) but the trees? The mountains? The snow?

I'm slightly tempted as I haven't pre-ordered, but if it didn't turn up release day, that's the whole weekend sat around listening to all the *hopefully* joyful accounts from everyone else playing it.. (That's on top of the 3 days after the US release!)..
