Mascot said:The more I think about this, the more the stench of horse shit fugs my nostrils. If the fear of "stealing of other people's IP" is really the reason why there isn't a track editor in FM4, then how does Dan condone the multitude incidences of copyright infringement and IP theft on unauthorised replica logos and liveries? These have permeated the auction house and storefront for years. Theft is theft, right? If this is really what keeps Dan awake at night then it would have been stamped out on day one, been made a bannable offence.
Why not tell us what we already know, Dan: the resources for creating a track editor were diverted onto car soccer and autovista instead, and a powerful track editor in the hands of the Forza community would instantly render any cash-generating DLC track plans obsolete.

The flexing, the suspension travel, the physics, the weather....
Well, it would affect their post-launch TRACK dlc strategy, but not the monthly car packs. FM3 track dlc was just the Nurb F1, wasn't it? Wonder how much revenue that generated?boris feinbrand said:Well obviously. A good track editor would give the community too big of a role. No matter how much Turn 10 wants to gush about how they incorporate the community and give them features, they still want to remain the sole originator of content that is of any significance. Livery editors are a non threat, because it's basically nothing more than a drawing tool, but by allowing the community to create their own tracks, that would make their post launch business model completely obsolete.
But wouldn't T10 created tracks always be of a higher quality than the community created tracks? I've played lots of community created tracks and none of them can reach the quality of for T10 or PD. They usually get the track layout right, but due to obvious reasons they don't have the resources to do textures etc as good.boris feinbrand said:Well obviously. You give them too much credit. IT is very apparent that they have no strategy! haha!!FunnyBunny said:I'm growing more frustrated with this marketing strategy.
Marketing?FunnyBunny said:I'm growing more frustrated with this marketing strategy. Too few screens, too little direct-feed trailers or gameplay and constant teases about what is (or isn't) in the game.
To offer a friend something and pull it back once is funny. Twice is a tease. Third time? They give up and walk away.
Turn 10 needs to open the flood gates and let it flow.
To mark the start this week's Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft has announced that the popular Tsukuba Circuit is also included in Forza 4th It is also speculated that tomorrow, Thursday the 15th September, a demo of Forza 4 for Xbox 360 will appear as a download. The basic assumption: The TGS 2009, Microsoft released a demo for Forza 3

That damn track is too wide in every of it's part. I said it before and will repeat it again. TOO WIDE. It gives the impression like it is some track from Need For Speed series.
Besides, even if it was *built on purpose for high-altitude racing by Swiss (Arab?) millionaires* there is no way anybody would build 4-lane wide track on top of the Alps. It design does not even share the premise of the actual "imaginationland" story behind the track.
Maybe it's a rejected Tilke track. :lolamar212 said:Alps *problem* is not the actual configuration but WIDTH.

You have to ask though, what can be shown in a trailer to raise hype levels again?eso76 said:500MB is very small for a demo, maybe just one car/track.
i somehow doubt it's the alps track, and frankly i hope it's an old one (tsukuba, suzuka etc) with just one car.
(would still prefer a huge, long trailer)

Holy shit, the demo will be online car soccer. I can fucking SMELL it.AlanzTalon said:Maybe it is a Rivals-style challenge on Top Gear, one car TT or a 2 car head-to-head challenge...just as a guess in the dark.
I don't think we should start blaming marketing when Turn 10 seem determined to deliver Forza 3.5. If they put the Alps course in the demo, what would be left as a reason to pay full price for the game?saladine1 said:You have to ask though, what can be shown in a trailer to raise hype levels again?
At this stage, I believe it's a little late for pics, vids and shit to inspire people. The game comes out in several weeks so a demo would be the only thing to save the whole(lacklustre) marketing strategy that Turn 10 and MS have employed.
I'm not talking about content. I'm talking about how they could've shown so much of everything they have announced so far such as pics to accompany the reveals of cars, videos of cars and the tracks, teasers or whatever...secondspace said:I don't think we should start blaming marketing when Turn 10 seem determined to deliver Forza 3.5.
