Holy shit!
MS lawyers are already in action...
Which came first? MB Games lawyers are already in the air. They are willing to settle out of court for 50% of Dan's future beard clippings.

I don't think we should start blaming marketing when Turn 10 seem determined to deliver Forza 3.5. If they put the Alps course in the demo, what would be left as a reason to pay full price for the game?

All sequels could have this stupid " .5 " added to them. I'm excited and I don't consider it a 3.5 ... but I did get caught up in the Debbie Downer in this thread for a few posts. Not going to happen again, message boards are the ultimate hype killer.

Dan is right about IP issues. There is a system in place for games makers to license tracks. You don't see a systmem in place for licensing logos in racing games. It makes sense.

See how a gif sold 2 copies of F1 2011? T10 should be taking notes.

Looks like the same old Norsdchleife... :(
Dan must be touring Europe at the moment. This afternoon, I received the invitation for the french press event where he'll be present. Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that I'll make it this time. A shame as I would have loved to interview him again, to ask some interesting questions coming from the community instead of the IGN/GS/whatever crap asked by guys who would rather interview someone working on an FPS and don't have the slightest interest in the game...

Edit : Yes, we're supposed to get the last Under the hood today, answering questions from the community.

Gutted :(

Hopefully more will come outta this event, I don't think we'll get anything from TGS if T10 are out and about elsewhere.

how can you tell ?
i'm not sure, at least it shouldn't be dark and cloudy as it was in fm3.
Same road writtings texture, same tree placements, looks like same geometry going by the width and (lack of) twistyness of the road.
The overall look of does appear to have been updated though with rumble stripes sporting real white and red instead of grey and greyish red.

The input from Modus and Jube in the Forza 3 thread was amazing.

How both are missed from here :(

Jube now knows everything we don't.

Jube, can we move the photomode camera more than a foot away from the car now?

Can we still record movies this time? Has that been fixed or is it the same, horrible procedure as last time that takes up to 45 mins to encode and upload a 30 second 720p clip?

edit: My god, I've become what I detest, the jaded gaffer.

Yeah, its still there. The specifics, I don't know. But I do remember seeing some video related stuff in a menu somewhere.

• For Forza Motorsport 4, Turn 10 Studios will reveal that the game will include four legendary Japanese tracks – Motegi, Fujimi Kaido, Tsukuba and Suzuka – when it launches on Oct. 11 in North America, Oct. 14 in Europe and Oct. 20 in the rest of the world.

From FC (don't know why they don't post links)

Some of Xbox’s biggest blockbuster titles including Forza Motorsport 4, Gears of War 3, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and two Xbox Live Arcade titles – Diabolical Pitch and Haunt – will be on display for the first time in Japan.• For Forza Motorsport 4, Turn 10 Studios will reveal that the game will include four legendary Japanese tracks – Motegi, Fujimi Kaido, Tsukuba and Suzuka – when it launches on Oct. 11 in North America, Oct. 14 in Europe and Oct. 20 in the rest of the world.

Holy reveals, batman !

yeah, well, at least the super gt stuff..honda hsv...drifters love...

at least, demo very soon is good news.
Top Gear's stars in a reasonable priced cars would be great to kill time till october, but it's a big selling point for the game and i doubt they would waste it in a demo.

Lol, I saw that hours ago when the Major tweeted it. Didn't bother posting about it. It was a non-news event then, and it's a non-news event now.

*note to self: stay positive in the face of adversity*

Not really impressed lately....I hoped for more new tracks etc etc.
On the fence, should I sell Forza 3 or keep it? Any suggestions? ( It's the Limited Collector's Edition ).

FM4 is so anticlimactic in terms of marketing. Do all the big announcements spread far apart before, and publish mash small announcements close to release. yer doin it wrong.

Well ok Suzuka really is legendary and I can understand why people would love Fujimi but Montegi and Tsukuba?? ugh, two boring pos.

Keep it. You won't get much for it and you might miss Positano and New York.

I'm glad Kaido is in, that's one of my favorite tracks with slower cars. Although I hate how they make you race it in sections during the career in 3.

NOBODY likes New York. Great looking track but it's horrible to drive.
I would go as far as saying it's one of the blandest looking depictions of New York in any game ever. It's all in the lighting.

So, so accurate...

also, wound up cancelling a third of the Forza 4 order for my stores today. I can usually monitor need by requests for info about the game in the months leading up to release. So far, there has not been a single question about it.

Kaido with older rwd (fiat abarth 131 !) and a fanatec is like the greatest driving experience ever actually.

So, it's time to set the record straight. The last couple of months, we have been living or telling a white lie. What you have been told about the game was just the surface really. We wanted to wait for TGS to reveal some big announcements. It has been really hard to hold back so far, but no more.
Is everybody sitting down?
Here we go:
FM4 WILL have weather!
FM4 WILL have night racing!
FM4 WILL have SPA and Bathurst!
FM4 WILL have rally!
FM4 WILL have Porsche!!(EA have been good sports going along with the joke)
FM4 WILL have exhaust note change
There's also a few surprises for players to find out for themselves when the game ships this October.

I knew there was something strange about their marketing!

I know it's anecdotal, but it's still not good. :(
