The Clio V6 tune I made (maybe? there hasn't been any feedback on it).
I think that's because originally everyone was to be in a D class car, the Clio is C class stock and you've improved it...

So any update on when the "coming soon market place" will be open? Its getting a bit embarrassing now.

I'm not surprised to hear this. I'm still playing Shift 2 several years after it came out because the wide variety of tracks gives the game incredible legs. There's a fraction of the FM5 car count but it doesn't matter one bit when you can race all day and never play the same track twice.

All I know is, Forza is really lacking in depth.
It really needs variety. Whether it's in the form of weather, night, new racing disciplines,tracks..etc.
The cone challenges, bowling and other attempts at adding in variety just doesn't cut it in the slightest. The monotony has truly set in...
If it wasn't for Spa and Bathurst, I would've been bored much earlier on...
Ha ha ha.... fucking idiots.
Reminds me of that old Major Nelson Forza vid with the pedals sliding around on the floor and the wheel hanging by strips of rubber from the ceiling (I made that last bit up - can't remember about the wheel. But the pedals sliding around was hilarious).
All of those tracks were in shift 2?
wow , I did not spend enough time in that game
the jaggies compared to S1 pissed me off
The track selection was excellent. And the Legends Pack was some of the best DLC released for a racing game - historic versions of tracks and some old cars to play with.
Shame the handling is so cack.
Out of the box, yes. It's such a shame so many people dismiss the game based on this popular misconception. A two minute web search for settings solves the handling issues, and you are then left with a deep and exhilarating racing experience with a wide and varied selection of circuits to choose from. The excellent FFB through a good wheel also makes Forza's seem weak and insipid.
Shift 2 is console racing's best-kept secret.

You're making the assumption I haven't spent months playing the game. It's one of my most played games of the last generation.
But despite many a fix, messing with configs, community patches, and lots of car tuning the handling never does get very good. It's always a battle. And it shouldn't be.
It's a real shame as the content and game progression is superb.
Please do address me directly if you have a problem with my opinion rather than the passive aggressive "many people" nonsense. And please don't try to dismiss my opinion because you believe I played the game for just five minutes. I own both the Xbox 360 and PC versions and have spent a long time with each. Fine you disagree. Woohoo.
Hitting the bottle a little early today?
The FFB was Terrible inshitshift 2.
What was the fix for the handling in the Xbox version?
I've no idea if there was a specific patch for the handling or not on the 360. I took some recommended settings (from forums on the Fanatec website, I think) and tweaked them slightly. I have to pause/unpause the game once at the start of every race to 'reset' the FFB, but apart from that I'm really happy with the handling, and you know how much Forza I've played over the years. It's a lot different to Forza, but I find it a lot more involving, more visceral.
I bought a wheel
:/
I didn't because there was ongoing debate about which version was best. I remember some people were reinstalling older firmware.Did you ever update the firmware on your wheel too?
Later Fanatec firmware had some nice improvements. There's less weight but more detail.

Any tips?
Cool - thanks bud!I'd try the latest mate, it's easy to flash but before you do try and find your original firmware just incase you don't like it. There was only one or two shipped firmwares that didn't get a release but apart from some small bug fixes are exactly the same. Big changes happened around 740's iirc, the 750's are more of a refinement.
Best place to try them on is Forza 4. I think the newer firmware let you turn off damper completely which is a good start.
Edit: you'll need to recalibrate the shifter after you flash.
you son of a bitch
from fm3
from fm4
this alone puts fm3 right up there with games in the series to play.
Such an annoying track to race clean but also a fun one with the right car setup, R1 did not belong there which a lot of online players voted for every damn time...
I'm still waiting for the return of New York full and Alpine Raceway, oh and Tokyo Night.
Is anyone here rocking a Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia with a wheel stand? If so which wheel stand are you using and would you recommend it? Thanks!
Bah, my power just went out due to a windstorm. ETA on restoration isn't for another 8 hours.
Ifs ok, the Clio is a terrible car anyway.
Oh man, 2 down. Maybe we should post pone the race til next weekend? Not sure how many we have left to race today.
fuck it, we're still doing it. lobby is up.

WTF
What The Fuck!
So apparently I live in one of the areas where Amazon delivers on Sunday. That's awesome.............but my $400 wheel has been sitting outside my door for the past 6hrs. What they will deliver but fuck ringing your doorbell.

What signature? You get lucky if they ring the bell, most of the time they just drop the box by the door and they're gone

Thanks for the races guys. I'll tally up the points a little later. I'm thinking Crude will still be in first. P3tran, sorry you missed the races and then we all couldn't hear you in game when you did join. Next week will be the Ford mustang Cobra R. Open to suggestions for tracks.
C500? Turns out there's fuck-all that's adjustable stock on the '00 Cobra R.
Also, Ferrari 360CS stock-but-tuned please please please.
Anyone want to try to build an IROC Camaro? Take the shitty pony car and make a spec race car out of it like they used in the '80s.
