Four in June - Summer Madness

These:

Dark Souls II
Drakengard 3
Mind Zero
Child of Light

Not sure on the final one yet.. Just beat DS II a couple of hours ago, so thats done

Child of Light has frozen and got my save deleted once, so I hope it doesnt happen again. Doesnt seem that long of a game however.

Just finished remember me, might be able to get another game in before the end of the month. Trying to working on book and movie backlogs as well so not much time to go around.

A little late, but heres my list:

Wii U:

Mario Kart 8
Legend of Zelda - A Link To The Past

3DS:
Inazuma Eleven

I'm undecided on the fourth game, but I'm leaning towards a shorter game. I'm about halfway through all the cups on mario kart 8, and I'm on chapter 8 in inazuma eleven. Currently loving inazuma eleven as I'm a soccer fanatic. The world cup is definitely cutting in to my gaming time, but it's well worth it! Hope everyone is enjoying their summers!

1) Ravenmark
2) Infamous
3) Dragon's Crown
4) TBA

Finished Infamous and still slowly working on Dragon's Crown, which should be done before the end of the month. I picked up a PS4 to get ready for TLoU remastered so I think I am going to work through the many PS+ games I have sitting on there waiting to be played.

New list.

1. Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues
2. The Wolf Among Us Episodes 2-4.
3. Far Cry 3
4. Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road.

Beat Far Cry 3. Done wiith Ubisoft.

And that's four down.

1. Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues
2. The Wolf Among Us Episodes 2-4.
3. Far Cry 3
4. Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road.

As with the other New Vegas DLC packages, it tooked away almost everything that was fun with base game. Probably the worst of them to play, but the story was interesting.

Here are the four I've planned to try and finish before the end of this month.

Pushmo - Fully finished all of the games puzzles.

Crashmo - Fully finished all of the games puzzles.

Pushmo World - Currently on this.

Wario Land 4 - I plan on playing this after Pushmo World.

At worst, I'll get two of four games done this month (which I started to play this week). Oh well. :P

1) Ravenmark
2) Infamous
3) Dragon's Crown
4) Contrast
5) PS+ backlog

Just beat Contrast
thanks PS+
and it was a fun but short game. I almost stop playing during Act 1 because the puzzles were extremely easy. Act 2 and 3 picked it up a bit and it was much more enjoyable.

Still working on Dragon's Crown just very slowly. I pretty much do 1 dungeon run right before I go to bed.

Wii U:
Mario Kart 8
Ittle Dew

Saturn:
Panzer Dragoon II

Ran though Panzer Dragoon II probably for the first time in 10+ years. Classic stuff. Was totally in the mood for a Saturday afternoon retro-run.

Pokemon Y - finished
Bravely Default - finished
Yumi's Odd Odyssey - finished
Bugs vs Tanks - in progress

YOO was pretty damn fun. one of those games where the feeling of accomplishment is worth all the heartache and 4 letter words.

Bravely Default
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Mario Kart 8
Picross E4
Costume Quest: Grubbins on Ice
Call of Duty 3: I have to admit, I didn't find that anything like as poor as many peoples say it is. Maybe it's because I'm quite comfortable moving between computer and console freely? It's definitely short, but I personally feel FPSes often outstay their welcome, so it was a good length for me.
Reading All The Harry Potter Books: Halfway through Chamber of Secrets...
Forza: Horizon: Doubt I'll 'complete' this in any meaningful way (like Mario Kart, above), but it's nice as a 'holding pattern' game until I'm freed up for Lego Harry Potter.

I've got a bit of DLC mounting up: Assassin's Creed III and IV, Saint's Row IV and Stacking spring very readily to mind. Might look into those off and on over the next few weeks.

1) Ravenmark
2) Infamous
3) Stick it to the man
4) Contrast
5) Dragon's Crown
6) PS+ backlog

Another game knocked out thanks to PS+, though I have a long way to go before I completely clear my PS+ backlog. Still making progress on Dragon's Crown though my playing before I go to sleep has started to wane. I still expect to be finished with it by the end of the month. No idea what other game I am going to start this week.

June was a good month.

Finished:
South Park Stick of Truth
Tomb Raider
Wolfenstein
Mass Effect + DLC
Mass Effect 2 + DLCs
Halo 4

Currently Playing:
Assassin's Creed IV
Mass Effect 3
The Witcher 2

Next up on the backlog:
Red Dead Redemption
XCOM Enemy Unknown
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

Pokemon Y - finished
Bravely Default - finished
Yumi's Odd Odyssey - finished
Bugs vs Tanks - finished

Time to see if I can finish some more of my downloaded games

Weapon Ship de Omasse - in progress
The Starship Damrey
Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale
Crimson Shroud

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2
Sniper Elite V2
Kirby's Adventure
Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Kirby's Return to Dreamland (halfway)

I'm hoping I can beat Child of Light too, I think I'm around halfway on that. The goal for summer is to make some progress on my backlog.

Updated!

Happy I got my four out of the way, especially since I now have a bunch of new games to play thanks to the Steam Sale. Currently working on RAGE and I plan to do Betrayer after that.

I started playng Trine 2 yesterday. Went for hardcore mode but because were on a deadline (and its actually tough!) gonna make the switch today and keep playing.

Runnin out of time and struggling to find a fourth game but ill get something!

Beat Sleeping Dogs two days ago. 25 hours of brillant game. Unfortunately last hours of main plot and
Pendrew's "ideas"
was predictable. However I want more. Where is SD2 Square!?
I've played in many sandbox (except GTA5 and GTA:SA), but Yakuza 3 and now SD, are my favourite.
Today or tomorrow I am going to start Shadow of the Damned.

PS3:
Burial at Sea p.2
Pixel Junk Shooter

X360:
Sleeping Dogs
Shadow of the Damned

I finally beat 'The Perfect Run' on Super Mario Galaxy 2. (100% completion)

Play time: 34:12:37

No Nintendo, thank you.

  • Crash Bandicoot 1 (Vita PSN) - 100% completion. Started May 30th 2014.
  • Crash Bandicoot 2 (Vita PSN) - 100% completion. Started June 6th 2014.
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii) - 100% completion. Started January 3rd 2013.
  • Super Mario World (Wii VC) - 100% completion. Started June 18th 2014.

I suppose I could finish the games I'm currently playing this month, but I think it's unlikely. After SMG 2 I realized I have some unfinished business left to do (i.e. almost completed games I stopped playing right before the end).

Link to backlog

Weapon Ship de Omasse - finished
The Starship Damrey - in progress
Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale - finished
Crimson Shroud

Weapon shop was fun but I can't see myself going back to it much.

I loved Tokyo Tale so much I beat it in one sitting. It's a shame nobody talks about it much.

This month was the most I've played video games since last year. Ended up beating quite a few games:

  • FTL (three times!)
  • Battlefield 3
  • Bit.Trip Runner
  • The Walking Dead Season 2
  • The Wolf Among Us
Gonna miss playing those Telltale games for a while =\

1) Ravenmark
2) Infamous
3) Stick it to the man
4) Contrast
5) Dragon's Crown
6) PS+ backlog
7) Crimson Shroud

Haven't played my 3DS in awhile so I figured I work through some games on there, or at least 1.

Final Fantasy X HD
Tomb Raider

Really enjoyed FFX, especially the combat system. Doesn't rank as high as FF6 or FF7 though.

Finished Tomb Raider on PC with 100% completion. The graphics and atmosphere left me euphoric at times. Gorgeous game.

Weapon Ship de Omasse - finished
The Starship Damrey - in progress
Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale - finished
Crimson Shroud - finished
The Cave - finished

Waiting for it to get dark so I can finish The Starship Damrey. Only download games left after that are unepic and unchained blades..

Watch_Dogs
Watch_Dogs Platinum Trophy
Mario Kart 8
Titanfall
Thomas Was Alone
Mortal Kombat (1)
Mark of the Ninja

With the MKX announcement I have gotten it into my head that I am going to play through the whole MK series. So i am going to handle them once a month with Sub Zero my main until the entries with story modes kick in. I picked Sub Zero because he is the only character (entity? persona?) that is in every game. Also never got through Mark of the Ninja so I went ahead and played through that. Kinda overstayed it's welcome towards the end, but still a good game.

My 4 are:

Super Time Force (Xbox One)
State of Decay Lifeline (XBLA)
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Xbox One)
Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)

Other possibilities:

Assassins Creed III (Xbox 360)
Resistance 3 (PS3)
Fable Anniversary (Xbox 360)
Some sort of Halo

I won't finish all of them I suspect but I will try

So, only finished SoD Lifeline out my original list but I have been playing Contrast which I enjoyed a lot and played a lot of Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition too.

Super Time Force (Xbox One)
State of Decay Lifeline (XBLA)
Contrast (Xbox One)
Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition (Xbox One)
Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition (Xbox One)

Adjusted my list to represent my goals for the next few days

And finally got done with Watch_Dogs. I really can't say many good things about the game...they story was a complete trainwreck, and Aiden Pearce has to be one of the dullest protagonists I've seen in a while. It's a shame, since there was some great opportunities for this game to comment on surveillance and modern day technology, but instead, both the gameplay and story drop the ball in almost all respects.

  • Transistor
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Watch_Dogs
  • Mario Kart 8
Bonus:

  • Mega Man V (Game Boy)
  • Defiance
  • Sonic Generations (3DS)
  • Double Dragon II: The Revenge

1) Ravenmark
2) Infamous
3) Stick it to the man
4) Contrast
5) Crimson Shroud
6) Trine
7) Dragon's Crown
8) PS+ backlog

Finally got around to beating Trine. It has been in my backlog since the Frozenbyte Humble Bundle. Now that I have Trine 2 on PS4 I figured I should finish the first one first. That being said I don't know if skipping right to the 2nd one would have spoiled anything.

Gonna join this month, i will have a lot of time.

Games:

Final Fantasy X HD - (Im at the last boss)
Final Fantasy X-2 HD - (In chapter 4 now)
Muramasa Rebirth - (Finishing the game with the other character as well)
Dragons Crown - (Getting it from Ps+, so starting from the beginning)
Disgaea 3 - (Finishing the story, in chapter 3 now)
+ Pixeljunk shooter Ultimate (Ps+ game, started from the beginning)

All of them on Vita.

Finished FFX finally. Dragons Crown was pretty good, ended up playing it quite a lot, finished it on normal + half of it on hard but i consider it beat.
I didnt plan to beat Pixeljunk s. u. but liked the game way more than i thought i would. 100%ed the singleplayer + beat the secret level and i only have 5 multiplayer trophies left, which i probably wont do but we will see.
Likely wont beat a 4th one this month, dont feel like gaming right now. I'll start reading a book instead, until Child of Light comes out on Vita.

Final Fantasy X HD
Tomb Raider
Thomas Was Alone

Crossed another game off the list. With less than two days to go, I'll probably go through an indie game on Steam.

Wii U:
Mario Kart 8
Ittle Dew
Shovel Knight

Saturn:
Panzer Dragoon II

Finished Shovel Knight yesterday...became my current GOTY in the process.

Middle of the month update. I haven't touched any of the games from my list, but rather have finished the following:

Stick it to the Man (PS4) (Already had that finished earlier when putting this list up)
Torchlight (PC)
Batman: Arkham Origins (PC) (Was only an hour from the ending after abandoning it months back)
FEAR 3 (PC)

I'm on a roll with finishing games, so I'm going to keep trucking and finish these before the Steam summer sale cripples my backlog:

To The Moon (PC)
The Walking Dead: Season Two (PC) (What has been released so far)
The Wolf Among Us (PC) (What has been released so far)
Aliens: Colonial Marines (PC)

I had to check my Steam's last two weeks to remember what I've beaten, I've played so much this month. The final tally is this:

Stick It To The Man (PS4)
Torchlight (PC)
Batman: Arkham Origins (PC)
FEAR 3 (PC)
To The Moon (PC)
The Walking Dead: Season Two (PC) (The three episodes released so far)
Aliens: Colonial Marines (PC)
Mafia II (PC)
Reversion: The Escape (PC)
Portal 2 (PC) (This one was a replay)

Making the summer my backlog destruction has been working out!

I didn't expect to update this before next month:

Bravely Default
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Mario Kart 8
Picross E4
Costume Quest: Grubbins on Ice
Call of Duty 3
Forza: Horizon: I've surprised myself by finishing this. I'm not conventionally good at more serious racers - the only other 'big' one I've finished is Metropolis Street Racer - but the difficulty curve at Medium was just about at my level, so I was able to enjoy a full playthrough. The rewind aid is absolutely incredible for a player of my limited ability - is that a standard of the Forza series, or just a part of Horizon? Either way, I do feel it's done a better job at teaching me how to corner than any other racer I've played. An upshot of all this is that Horizon 2 will make an Xbox One a much more compelling purchase for me later this year.
Reading All The Harry Potter Books: Started out in Goblet of Fire. Should be through that one by next weekend, which means Lego Harry Potter is on the cards for next month.

I'v only beaten three games this month, I don't think I'll manage a fourth.

Professor Layton and the Lost Future
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies
The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave

As expected, didn't come anywhere near the goal this month, but I did finish 2 games:

- Mario Kart 8
- Love

It helped that Love can be finished in just a few minutes, of course. Other than that, I spent June wrapped up in Mario Kart and the Steam sale.

Next month could be better.

  • Harvester
    [*]Dragon Warrior/Quest
    [*]Millennium: A New Hope
    [*]The Longest Journey

Already finished one game, so three more left to go. I'm nearly finished with Millennium: A New Hope, and I'll buy the Longest Journey when that bundle goes up later. DW/Q will probably take a while. Also, this list is highly subject to change.

Beat all of the games I planned on, and a few more. Would have beaten more but the summer sale got in the way of that.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Trine 2: The Complete Story

I have failed this thread. Made solid progress on Final Fantasy X too though!

Next month got the Destiny Beta, so not sure if that will hinder or not.

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2
Sniper Elite V2
Kirby's Adventure
Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Shovel Knight

Pretty happy that I reached my goal.

I wasn't expecting to beat Shovel Knight this month, but as soon as I started it I fell in love and pretty much tore through it in a few days. Maybe now I can actually get back to my backlog like I said I was going to!

3DS:
Inazuma Eleven

So I only beat one game this month, but what a game it was. I had a blast playing Inazuma Eleven and I really hope the other games get localized in NA. Other than that, I've been working/watching the world cup and haven't had too much time for gaming. Almost done with a couple other games, so July should be a great month for me!
