I'm going to say it and not take it back. Simpsons was superior to American Dad yesterday. Didn't really enjoy the songs.

I'm not one for musical episodes and I did not watch The Simpsons so I can't judge, but the Daddy's Gone song is really great. Can't get enough of it, wish it was longer though. :D

Just saw Simpsons. I'm a defender of a few gems in the last two seasons, but holy fuck was that premiere bad. It really makes me wonder if the gags are even pitched to anyone on production to see if it gets any laughs. One of the least funny and more forgettable eps in the last few years, surely they can only go up from here.

i didn't think the simpsons was really too off from where it's usually been for the last few years. at the very least there was one plot that carried through the entire episode, something that was a huge problem from 2001-2008 or so. the ratings for the season premiere were higher than last season's premiere, and it usually does about as well as family guy and sometimes leads the night. if they decide not to end the series with the season with the 500th episode, they'll probably wind up taking it to 25 seasons and calling it quits there. either way, i think its time on tv is (finally) very limited.

american dad was great though. cee-lo did an awesome job, and i loved how that ending just fucked with what was supposed to happen.

What!? No celebrity special guest star? Next you're going to tell me there's no montage set to the latest hit pop song, right?
the celebrity guest star is teddy roosevelt. they are going to have him actually speak in the episode using his recordings from the early 1900s.

this is a real thing that is actually happening.

Actually pretty excited to see how Peter, Cleveland, and Stan interact! Been waiting for this episode for awhile.

Edit: Although knowing MacFarlane's series it will probably be one gag scene and have no effect on the plot at all.

The Simpsons will be garbage.
American Dad will be amazing.
Other series will be meh.

Just a heads up that there will be NO Animation Domination block next week due to baseball. Depending on how the playoffs go, we may be looking at baseball pre-emptions for the next THREE weeks.

Ok, look what wikipedia says:

Damn. That would've been an amazing series finale. Also explains the ending.
0_o I would have been so sad if that was the last one :( but looking back, lol Stan , Francine and Principle louis all died so I see how it was a series finale episode
"oh damn!"

Will Joe meet Stan tonight D: , I can't wait for the 3 connecting episodes.

The news report killed me on the Simpsons, the models and animation were perfect :lol

Bauer's role was kinda lame tho

Damn, I just missed the Simpsons opening. Was that John K (of Ren & Stimpy fame) who did the couch gag?!
