Thank God. I still really do still get laughs from the Simpsons, and they don't need to make black joke after black joke or have a baby drag in a a whore or something while talking about about how much crack they just had for humor. They aim for clever over shock, and I appreciate that, even if it's hit or miss sometimes. I enjoy my fair share of Family Guy humor (although lately it's been moreso American Dad than FG) but we don't need the whole Fox Block dominated by it.
Last Sunday's ep had a good solid plot that didn't veer into the insane or embarrassingly unfunny (unlike the premiere). And even though it ended in yet another Springfield elementary hostage scene, it was entertaining, funny and a welcome contrast to the FG CS AD three-way we have now. To see it disappear would be saddening, not just because of the end of an era, but because of loss of humor that doesn't use shock as a crutch.
