They already did a joke about the prequel SW movies in the last SW special. Peter said that the Cleveland Show will be doing them.aparisi2274 said:I think Family Guy wasted the perfect opportunity to crack a joke about the prequel SW movies.
When the TV went out in the beginning of the episode, Peter should have looked at his family and then looked at the audience and said "There is no damn way I am going to waste my time recreating the prequels!"

I'm glad I am not the only who thought that that they were going to do a Star Wars setup when they lost the TV againaparisi2274 said:I think Family Guy wasted the perfect opportunity to crack a joke about the prequel SW movies.

The jist of the joke was that someone asked Peter if he will cover the prequel trilogy and Peter said no, the Cleveland Show will be doing that.aparisi2274 said:I need to go back and watch it again... I must have missed it.![]()
Just saw it on Youtube. I think it's a pretty great (and slightly terrifying) couch gag.N4Us said:I didn't see the Simpsons but in case you guys were wondering, yes, that gag was by John K

Mind-blowing considering how much he's bashed the Simpsons in past interviews and such.
I like the drug bits and wish there was more of it.Full Metal Jacket said:Family Guy just goes over board with some of their fucking jokes. It's like your waiting...and....waiting for it to end.

Dirtyshubb said:Only got round to watching AD (have FG and CS ready to watch) but I was laughing so hard, too many great moments:
Roger poking the woman underwater
Burnt Roger floating by Stan just silently looking at him
The Bear shaking his head disapprovingly at Stan
Francine talking through Stans plans I cant pick any holes in it per say but
Really good episode, I just wish Bobs Burgers was back and the funny would be complete![]()

I'd be okay with it if it was given a proper sendoff. I have a fear that this will be the last season and end like any other season because of the surprise cancellation rumor. And no matter how low your opinion of this show is, the Simpsons deserve a better sendoff than that. I want Fox to have the respect to give the Simpsons one final season, or at least 5 or 6 last episodes. It should be an event. Like it or not, it will be historical that a series of 25 years will see it's end. And I hope Fox realizes this and doesn't desecrate the show's historic milestone by simply cancelling it cold turkey.isny said:Am I the only one glad to hear that we're probably only getting one more season of The Simpsons? As much as I'd hate to see it go, as it's been a part of my life since the beginning, it definitely needs to take a breather.

edit: Ironically, marketing the event of "The last episodes of the Simpsons!!" would surely cause the ratings to skyrocket prompting Fox to greenlight another season..
FOX has renewed THE SIMPSONS, the longest-running comedy in television history, for an incredible 24th and 25th season, bringing the series total to an astonishing 559 episodes. THE SIMPSONS airs Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
The longest-running scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Matt Groening created the iconic family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. In February 2012, THE SIMPSONS will celebrate its historic 500th episode. The series has won 27 Emmy Awards, been the subject of a hit feature film, created Krustyland and a revolutionary virtual coaster The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios, received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, been honored with five U.S. postal stamps personally designed by Matt Groening, and named the Best Show of the 20th Century by Time Magazine.
Following the MLB American League Championship Series and World Series games on FOX, THE SIMPSONS returns with all-new episodes beginning with Treehouse of Horrors XXII, on Sunday, Oct. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In the spooky opener, Homer takes a dangerous dive into an isolated canyon on Candy Peak, but when a crashing boulder traps his arm, he channels Aron Ralston (guest voicing as himself) to save himself. In The Diving Bell and Butterball, the first of three hair-raising Halloween tales, a venomous spider bite leaves Homer paralyzed, but when Lisa discovers Homers ability to communicate through natural gases, he is able to express his love for Marge. The killer spells continue in Dial D for Diddly, when Ned Flanders, devout preacher by day, transforms into a cold-blooded vigilante by night. In the final terrifying tale, In the NaVi, Bart and Milhouse are assigned on a mission to access a sacred extract on a distant planet. They morph into the lands indigenous one-eyed avatars, but when Bart finds love and an eternal mate abroad, he is caught in planet warfare.
THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.
