I think Family Guy wasted the perfect opportunity to crack a joke about the prequel SW movies.

When the TV went out in the beginning of the episode, Peter should have looked at his family and then looked at the audience and said "There is no damn way I am going to waste my time recreating the prequels!"

They already did a joke about the prequel SW movies in the last SW special. Peter said that the Cleveland Show will be doing them.

I need to go back and watch it again... I must have missed it. :(

I'm glad I am not the only who thought that that they were going to do a Star Wars setup when they lost the TV again

The jist of the joke was that someone asked Peter if he will cover the prequel trilogy and Peter said no, the Cleveland Show will be doing that.

Well that was interesting , we get a mediocre cleveland show that tried a bit too hard to have some sort of meaningful purpose, a family guy that started out ok but got awful by the end because it made the same mistakes as episode 150- tried to damn hard to be serious. Ugh, sorry but that ship has long since sailed seth, you can't turn your bullshit bad joke a minute garbage into a heartfelt drama in season 8. or 7 or whatever year it's in now.

American Dad though, hilarious as usual, best writing, best jokes and they've established the world within it well enough in it's few years on air that it actually CAN get away with the odd serious moment.

My favorite moment though, reminded me of a documentary I once saw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D24ZWw5ZVXI. Oh if only stan had watched this before his final plan failed.

american dad was by far the best, maybe one of the best episodes.

family guy was 50/50. good to see the animation budget has gone back up though. last season looked like shit outside of the premier special.

cleveland was awful but simpsons was alright.

They're going at each other like an Italian Guy and a Black Woman.

Expected a hilarious cutaway, was disappointed after I saw it.

Only able to catch FG and AD, but I enjoyed them both. Surprisingly, I liked FG a bit more as I love episodes that mostly focus on dialogue, and AD was a bit overly outlandish and silly.

American Dad was really enjoyable, minus the crossover cameo at the end. It was like Peter's voice was...polluting the show or something.

"Hehheh, classic American Dad!" :-|

Family Guy just goes over board with some of their fucking jokes. It's like your waiting...and....waiting for it to end.
I like the drug bits and wish there was more of it.

Yea, it's fucking annoying. American Dad's characters are way more fun than Family Guy's characters now.

So I absolutely enjoyed the American Dad episode, but I also love watching old episodes when going to bed.

Two of my favorites I think:

-The "roast of roger" episode
-The one when Roger becomes a college professor and that one kid
kills his father

The motto for The Simpsons 23rd season:

Fuck it, we all get paid anyhow, let's phone it in so hard the loyal fan base shatters into a billion pieces.

I thought the whole crossover thing was a bit underwhelming. I thought the Griffins/Browns/Smiths would have shown up to help each other out in some way. Loved American Dad.

The way that Roger dipped his girlfriend underwater did it for me. Along with the way that the Bear shook his head at Stan.

Only got round to watching AD (have FG and CS ready to watch) but I was laughing so hard, too many great moments:

Roger poking the woman underwater
Burnt Roger floating by Stan just silently looking at him
The Bear shaking his head disapprovingly at Stan
Francine talking through Stan’s plans “I can’t pick any holes in it per say but”

Really good episode, I just wish Bob’s Burgers was back and the funny would be complete :)

That's what really cracked me up and I'm not even sure why. :lol

Just saw Simpsons, a huge improvement from the premiere (and was pleasantly surprised by the John K intro. Now to catch up on American Dad after hearing all this hype about this season..

Am I the only one glad to hear that we're probably only getting one more season of The Simpsons? As much as I'd hate to see it go, as it's been a part of my life since the beginning, it definitely needs to take a breather.

Man Family Guy was hilarious especially the part where Meg is giving her speech and Peter is like "I think Brian is having a little water" "Still going" that whole part had me in tears its so subtle but hilarious at the same time.

I'd be okay with it if it was given a proper sendoff. I have a fear that this will be the last season and end like any other season because of the surprise cancellation rumor. And no matter how low your opinion of this show is, the Simpsons deserve a better sendoff than that. I want Fox to have the respect to give the Simpsons one final season, or at least 5 or 6 last episodes. It should be an event. Like it or not, it will be historical that a series of 25 years will see it's end. And I hope Fox realizes this and doesn't desecrate the show's historic milestone by simply cancelling it cold turkey.

edit: Ironically, marketing the event of "The last episodes of the Simpsons!!" would surely cause the ratings to skyrocket prompting Fox to greenlight another season..

Quick reminder while this thread is bumped that there are no new episodes this weekend.
Animation Domination is getting pre-empted so FOX can broadcast Game 2 of the riveting ALCS showdown between the Detroit Tigers & Texas Rangers.

At best you'll see commercials for shows that will air three weeks from now.

The producers, etc. are taking a cut to let the actors take less of a cut, so more than likely we'll get one final season, but that's it unless the economy rebounds suddenly.

FOX has renewed THE SIMPSONS, the longest-running comedy in television history, for an incredible 24th and 25th season, bringing the series total to an astonishing 559 episodes. THE SIMPSONS airs Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The longest-running scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Matt Groening created the iconic family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. In February 2012, THE SIMPSONS will celebrate its historic 500th episode. The series has won 27 Emmy Awards, been the subject of a hit feature film, created “Krustyland” and a revolutionary virtual coaster – The Simpsons Ride – at Universal Studios, received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, been honored with five U.S. postal stamps personally designed by Matt Groening, and named the “Best Show of the 20th Century” by Time Magazine.

Following the MLB American League Championship Series and World Series games on FOX, THE SIMPSONS returns with all-new episodes beginning with “Treehouse of Horrors XXII,” on Sunday, Oct. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In the spooky opener, Homer takes a dangerous dive into an isolated canyon on Candy Peak, but when a crashing boulder traps his arm, he channels Aron Ralston (guest voicing as himself) to save himself. In “The Diving Bell and Butterball,” the first of three hair-raising Halloween tales, a venomous spider bite leaves Homer paralyzed, but when Lisa discovers Homer’s ability to communicate through natural gases, he is able to express his love for Marge. The killer spells continue in “Dial D for Diddly,” when Ned Flanders, devout preacher by day, transforms into a cold-blooded vigilante by night. In the final terrifying tale, “In the Na’Vi,” Bart and Milhouse are assigned on a mission to access a sacred extract on a distant planet. They morph into the land’s indigenous one-eyed avatars, but when Bart finds love and an eternal mate abroad, he is caught in planet warfare.

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.
