Franz Ferdinand - You Could Do So Much Better

"Do you want to?" Isn't really a "single". I don't know how to explain it, but it just sounds better when accompanied by the rest of the album rather having it stand alone. it probably should've been farther back on the album too. I guess, for me atleast, you have to be in a certain mood to listen to a song like that one, and the album really helps set that mood.

I've listened to this album all the way through quite a few times now and it is by far the catchiest album of the year, just like the S/T (which I'm hooked on AGAIN now.) Definitely one of the best albums this year. "This Boy" is such a damn good song, my favorite. :)

I mean single, as in, it was released as the first single with an accompanying video.

Weird though, that songs stands out like no other to me on the album as far as screaming "single" material.

It's true, although I always find that it doesn't help if you hear the single before the album; it always sticks out a bit more.

I'm digging the album thus far, and there really isn't anything about it that bothers me. Some songs are more memorable than others, but this is always going to happen and it's just an enjoyable listen. There is definitely a bit more of a softer side showing on songs like Eleanor, Fade Together, but I think that it simply adds to the overall picture of the album well and they don't feel out of place.

My favourite songs thus far are probably 'The Fallen', 'This Boy' and 'Eleanor'.

Interpol 2: Electric Boogaloo

Just like the first album! Has 4 good songs, and the remainder is listenable, innoffensive, and completely forgettable pap! NMEgasm GET!

Is there anybody who didn't like the first album who could give me impressions on this one? I only liked "Michael" and "Take Me Out" if that helps.....

I've listened to it twice now and I'm inclined to agree with you, only the good songs on the first album had more punch. Jacqueline is better than every song on You Could Do So Much Better. I think YCDSMB is to self titled as Rage Against the Machine's Evil Empire was to self titled (that is very similar only not as good), only Rage Against the Machine was a thousand better than Franz Ferdinand, of course. :lol
