Uh oh...coming soon from Tigon - The Pacifier: The Videogame

Anyways, go see Be Cool. Not as good a movie as Get Shorty, but it's a funnier movie than Get Shorty.

Um. I don't know about BE COOL. Trailer looked to try hard. What is up with Making Travolta and Uma dance again. Quentin did it and made it cool. Here it looks derivative and stupid. Plus its got the Rock.

The dance scene was Travolta's idea. He wanted to do it in Get Shorty actually.

Be Cool is actually very similiar to Get Shorty, only set in the music business. There are a lot of jokes that refer back to Get Shorty and some of the characters are similiar to ones in Get Shorty. But, it's good and The Rock is one of the best characters in the movie. Andre 3000 is also great.

My only problem was Uma's character was basically just scene decoration and didn't really do anything. But the movie has a lot more humor that works than Get Shorty did. The problem is if you've seen Get Shorty the way things play out isn't too surprising. It's worth seeing though, especially if you bought the Get Shorty SE DVD and have the free ticket.

Wait, the way you said that makes it look like the inclusion of the Rock is a negative point.

I'm sure it's just an oversight, but you might want to fix that :)

The Rock can make any crappy movie into an entertaining one.

The Scropion King would've been crap if it was Kevin Sorbo. The Rock made it a decent modern day Conan flick.

The Rundown could've sucked, but The Rock made it kick ass.

Walking Tall had The Rock hitting people with a big stick.

I get flashbacks of The Whole 9/10 Yards whenever Be Cool comes up in conversation. Not good.

The difference is, The Whole 10 Yards is a crappy idea for a sequel.

Be Cool was an Elmore Leonard novel long before it was a movie and the book was the sequel book to Get Shorty. The only returning character from Get Shorty is Chili Palmer along with one short cameo. The only reason it took so long to become a movie is they waited for Elmore Leonard to work on the screenplay.

The Rock, well, rocks. And I'm not even a wrestling fan.

The Rock is the fucking greatest. There is something very...soothing about him. Soothing maybe the wrong word, but he has this incredible presence to him. He's always smiling and relaxed...he cracks me up too. The Rock > you.

The Rock is convincing as an actor. To me it seems whenever he's in a movie, its natural and not forced. I can't really say whether he's had any training to be an actor, but if so its paid off in my eyes.

I own a lot of Disney stock and not even I would encourage people to see The Pacifier. Who are these tasteless morons paying top dollar to see Vin Diesel drive a van and change diapers?

You did not just insult Chris Cornell and the Rock in the same breath.

I know a certain Canadian man who does not approve of this nonsense.

Yep, you guessed it. Bryan Adams.

He's okay but damn if I'd to pay to watch a feature with the rock. That film with Sean William Scott schooled me big time. No more.

I wasn't insulting Cornell or The Rock, I enjoy their entertainment much. I was insulting AlphaSnacks for salivating over them.

My sister, mom and two aunts tried to drag me to see this last week. They swear up and down it was a great movie. I'll slam a door on my nuts before willingly going to see it of course.

6. "Constantine," $6 million.

LOS ANGELES - Vin Diesel's family-friendly comedy "The Pacifier" pulled in $30.2 million on its opening weekend to rank as the nation's top-grossing movie, turning his action-star image — and box-office expectations — upside down. Proving he's more than biceps and tattoos, Diesel's performance as a Navy SEAL turned baby sitter easily outdistanced the weekend's other major opening, "Be Cool" with John Travolta.

"Be Cool," the sequel to the 1995 comedy "Get Shorty," took in $23.5 million for Travolta's largest weekend opening, according to studio estimates.

"'Pacifier' did better than anyone expected, but you can't underestimate the family audience," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Exhibitor Relations Co., which tracks box-office figures. "I think people like to see a fish-out-of-water story — an action star in a very unexpected role."

In the Disney comedy, Diesel plays a tough guy who's brought down to size when he's forced into the role of a father figure. The PG-rated makeover recalled another action star's detour into comedy — Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) in "Kindergarten Cop," in which the actor known for the violent "Terminator" and "Conan" roles played a police officer facing a classroom of kids. Diesel proved "the old axiom that funny is money," said Chuck Viane, Disney's head of distribution. Moviegoers want "to laugh and escape for a few hours."
