The build up is great and you can tell Stanley Kubrick's mind is at play. The ending though I found anticlimactic to say the least. After he died I think someone else edited the film differently to his vision.

Was contemplating a more permanent absence if you know what I mean but that always comes to the forefront in these phases. Although it was way more complex than a simple depression cycle. It was already edited for it's first screening I've heard. And yeah they took a whole chunk of "the party" scenes out "supposedly". In the ending you can see two men walking out of the store with her daughter.



This was fun to watch but who knows
