I really want this community to thrive. I feel like this could be my next Fat Princess.

Yeah. Honestly I had no interest in this game but now I can't stop playing. Its just such a fun game to play and its nice not to have a competitive game where I stress out over to do well. Basically I need a game that isn't OW right now, and this is perfect for me.

Not even bothering with quick match anymore, just using LFG on Xbox. In fact, I'm pretty sure literally everybody else is doing the same as the LFG feed is constantly ticking over with notifications!

Even easier than LFG is joining clubs that play it. There are two Friday the 13th-focused ones with a combined membership of almost 30,000 players. Once you are a member, and you visit the club page, you will get a torrent of invites to games and parties.

Played a game with a god like jason. Killed everyone but 1 of us, the last counselor just biding in a closet. Then Jason glitches out and can't open the door, and the dude sits in there for 10 minutes not moving making us all wait. Well at least I get my xp. Nope. As soon as the game ends my game just crashes and I go to the home screen. My patience with this shit is pretty much over.

Just had a 8/8 game as Jason on my girlfriend's account. They had no idea what was going on as they wasn't expecting me to play a round as Jason for her lol. Love this game.

Completely agree.

Yeah, I think a guide like this is in really poor taste. Especially since you know that everyone won't have access to the same information. Cheapens the experience as a whole.

I really want them to go to town with more randomization options for each map. I am concerned my memory is already getting good enough that I have a decent idea of where things will be, I want the map to change more to combat this.

i didn't know jason could teleport into the houses with you. happened to me on two separate occasions.i don't know if i like that.

also, something else weird happened tonight. i was playing as the last person alive, i had been ensnared in two bear traps and had no health around. i was going from place to place trying to find something. i survived up until the last 2 minutes until jason found me. i was waiting for him to get close until i went out the door but then i just died. was it because the character was scared? afterwards, everyone started calling me a fag, gay, a pussy for killing myself, etc. typical responses from you know, people in middle school. but i didn't kill my character. i had an axe. i don't even know how to kill myself. what happened?

You either stepped in a trap set down by another player or you went through a broken window. Or some strange bug.

I think, earliest I'm gonna play this game is July. With some luck, by then It'll grab a few more fixes, but I really look forward jumping in!

Does the game track stats outside of the badges and stuff? It would be cool to see yiur durvivor percentage, fastest escape etc.

Doesn't look like it, I was trying to find stats too.

On a similar note, is it possible to see how much XP you have/need toward the next level?

With 8 players there is only a 12.5% chance of being Jason. I wish they had it set up so you would automatically be Jason every 7 or 8 games. I have played quite a few games since Thursday and I was Jason just one time.

Yeah, I joined the F13 maniacs club and immediately was bombarded with invites after loading up the game : )

@03sho - you only need 2 players to start a private match, and still earn xp / badges / achievements

Ugh, so we're waiting on Europe so we can get the patch?

This begs the question of why do global patches have to go through individual regions?

Because if they were released individually as soon as they were accepted by each region it would break global matchmaking.

I don't know what the algorithm is but it's a joke. Have my preference on Jason and the same three people kept getting "randomized" to play him. Played for hours too.

That's not really what I meant.

Why do patches have to be deployed individually for online environments that are global? It opens up the inherent risk of breaking things if different regions are at different versions. This is making the programmer side of me upset because it's a stupid unnecessary step.

I have become rather burned out on gaming as of late and Friday the 13th has me up again till 2am playing nonstop and laughing almost the entire time. Aside from the piss poor matchmaking (PS4, I just use the community page in the game menu on the PS home screen now), its one of my favorite games of the year just based on fun-factor alone. Even the glitches just kind of add to the jankiness of it for me which adds to the hilarity.

I hope they are planning a lot more for multiplayer because while I appreciate that some people want single player added, its the random nature of the multiplayer that makes this awesome game for me. The 3 maps are starting to feel a bit repetitive at this point so I hope more is added within the next couple of months.

This. This exactly. I think I was having open-world-itis. Between Mafia 3, Horizon, Mass Effect, and Breath of the Wild i was just getting meh about gaming in general, but damned if I'm not up til midnight pretty much every night since launch playing it with people on here and real life friends. It's just too damn much fun to put down, even the downtime between matches is hilarious, since it's like watching a F13 movie play out in real time.

You can use Shift into an open building, yeah. Morph, the actual teleport move, not normally unless I'm missing something as it's only for use outdoors. I mean, what's the point of barricading and locking doors, then?
Morph isn't supposed to teleport inside, so unless they glitched, they just shifted through an open door.

I didn't think so. Unless people know of some exploit. I've had him teleport next to me twice inside a cabin. Snatched me up immediately and killed me.

Are you sure both doors were locked/closed? I have many times busted down a door with a councilor inside pointing a flare gun/shotgun at me, and then I will just shift to right behind them and execute them on the spot.

Seriously, this game is so much fun (minus the insane matchmaking times)

Had a match last night where I was the only one to escape by car with Jason attempting to teleport in front of my whip as I headed toward the exit. Just gets your heart pounding trying not to fuck up by driving into a tree.

I've been watching a lot of streams on the game, looks like a lot of fun. Helps that the franchise is my slasher movie favourite. Any idea when the SP content is due?

I had a dream that was like this game but it was Texas chainsaw instead. Shit was pretty scary.

I've had the same dream. TCM would be a perfect match for this style of game. Assuming we're talking Leatherface from TCM 1 & 2. Choosing Next Generation Leatherface should be an instant loss seeing as how he'd spend the whole match whimpering and shrieking in a corner.

I find that I do well with all of them. Haven't unlocked 9, though.

6 and 8 have my favorite weapon kills, so I prefer those two.

Having a Jason that runs has really been way more beneficial for me for whatever reason, even though I think they have the worst designs. Always dug zombie Jason much more.

How do the kills work? I've only been Jason twice, but I see we can buy some for XP, but we also can do specific kills per Jason character?

Jason can kill counselors simply by hitting them a few times with his weapon or grab them and do a specialized kill that he has available, ie ones you've bought or just have in his roster. If you're close to some sort of environmental trigger like a tree stump or a window, Jason can do a specialty kill using that. Last night, I slammed someone's head against a cabinet which I didn't even know you could do.

What's everyone's thoughts on best and worst Jasons?

Best is probably Part 3 for me and worst is Part 8.

I honestly think Part 3 Jason is the best all around Jason. He has no hits to morph or shift and he can run so he's the most mobile Jason. He also has good weapon and grip strength so you pretty much need pocket knives to escape him and he can also hurt you a ton. I'm kind of surprised he's the default Jason.

I can't even begin to imagine how taxing it would be on the engine to have Tina throwing shit around. Not to mention she's a nightmare from a balance perspective. I personally don't see her being added and I'm glad, as I'd much rather seem them focus on new maps.

Tina should be it's own game mode, special rules, etc. Make it a versus like mode where Tina is trying to rescue counselor players, Jason is trying to get kills.

The biggest issue though is that everything is static in the game world, and adding those physics in could severely tank the frame rate, and like I said I feel their efforts and money are better spent elsewhere.
