FrontRunner train rams into FedEx truck in Utah

Did the gates close late or something? What happened?

From the video description:

This dash camera video from the North Salt Lake Police Department shows a FrontRunner train tearing through a FedEx truck. A malfunction meant that no warning lights were flashing and the crossing arms were raised at the time of the crash, according to the Utah Transit Authority.
 
That ending made me laugh so hard. The gate closes after the deed is done lmao
 
Yeah, the rail company is at fault in this. Signals are supposed to fail-safe and conditions meant you couldn't see trains very far away.
 
Jesus, why wasn't the gate down?

Thankfully it didn't hit the front section of the truck, and it looks like the train managed to stay on the rails.
 
Almost no one ever does this in New England. I guess I should start looking now. School buses and fuel trucks are required to stop at crossings.

Also it's a giant truck on a snowy road.

Even if he did see the train coming he probably couldn't have stopped in time.

And ya, the arms coming down at the end of the video made me laugh
