Hmmm, looking at Gamer's Press, apparently Virtua Tennis 4 will be a launch title...

SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that the renowned Virtua Tennis™ series is scheduled to be a launch title on NGP. Developed by the original Virtua Tennis Team in Japan, Virtua Tennis 4 will mark the third time the series has been a launch title on new Sony Computer Entertainment hardware, following the successful Virtua Tennis releases at the launch of the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

Does anyone know how much ram this thing has.?
I'm only seeing CPU/gpu info

There was that rumour of them cutting it from 512 to 256 and as we all know you can have the fastest CPU and decent gpu but if you have no ram it's chop chop chop

Even 256 would mean they have more than twice as much ram as their closest competitor. It is plenty. And that is not including vram. The 3DS only has 96mb of ram.

Also, that was just a rumour, how anyone can say that the ram has been cut, when the amount of ram has never been announced, is completely beyond me.

because the source is spot on with other NGP rumor. anyway, if there's a cut, it must have been early in the design and the spec haven't changed since the first time they announce it, otherwise games like Uncharted would surely be affected by it. which doesn't look like it got a downgrade at all.

Seriously though, a new King's Field would be the greatest thing to ever land on a 5" screen

ever
That's exactly the first thing I did when coming here.

Will buy.

Tretton said there are 80 games in development for Vita, but there are far more than 80 companies in that list.

These lists are of companies who've signed letters of intent, I think.

they wouldn't be on that list anyway since sony will be publishing whatever they make?

As I pointed out, some of them are middleware companies and such. (Allegorithmic, Catalyst Outsourcing, Firelight Tech, etc)

Like they don't make games, but they help make 3D assets or something.

And then about 15 of them are Mini developers (which is an interesting development, I figured most of them would move to PS Suite, but maybe there is something similar to Minis in the works?)

And one company, "Broadsword Publishing" appears to have only made one game, a Fruit Ninja clone on the iPhone called "Kumquat Attack".

Indeed, some of the other ones I recognize have only done one game, albeit on the PSP. The Game Atelier, did The Flying Hamster. Honeyslug did Kahoots.

No Polyphony Digital in the first-wave seems official now.

Interesting.

Seeing as how unproductive, stagnant and worthless this studio generally is, we probably shouldn't expect anything from them until 2015.

They are probably just clumped into Sony, cannot see any mention of Clap Hanz or Sony Bend on that list. Willing to bet that PD do have a Vita game in development but has not yet been announced due to not being far along enough or Sony holding it back for the second wave of biggies.

But Sony isn't on the list either :O
Oh well, it's not like announcing anything would mean it arrived in the next 4 years.

Have a fun! Enjoy!
Frame rate : 120fps@320x240(QVGA), 60fps@640x480(VGA)
Resolution : Up to 640x480(VGA)

Interesting. That's the very same res/framerate of the PS Eye. Wonder about the field of view. Perhaps Vita could act as a PS Eye.

Reminds me of that patent...

By playing “Welcome Park”, users can
easily become accustomed to the three dimension-like finger motions used on PS Vita,
Hehe, we don't need no 3D screens, we have 3D finger motions! ...What is that even supposed to mean, though?

Quick edit: Oh okay, probably the front and rear touch panels or something.
