Funimation revealed the upcoming voice actors @ ACen:

Ling Yao -- Todd Haberkorn
Lan Fan -- Trina Nishimura
Fu -- Kenny Green
May Chang -- Monica Rial
The Panda -- Tia Ballard
Slave 23 -- Aaron Dismuke

So basically exactly what everyone was predicting.

New episode just ended on Adult Swim.

Father's voice wasn't too bad. I expected him to sound older than he does.

I hate how they pronounce Selim in the dubbed version.

Episode 14 was pretty cool,
wasn't expecting Greed and his crew to die so quickly. I think Greed lasted longer in the original anime, but does anyone remember if his gang was as shortlived?

Also, wasn't Bradley
originally Pride, not Wrath, in the first anime?

Yeah. Bradley was Pride in the first series, but in the manga version, he has always been Wrath.

Father -- Kent Williams

The Narrator is Father? What does that mean? :lol

That he can get paid twice for having two roles? :p

Must be another ep I'm thinking of.

Probably. I don't remember Pride having anything to do with this episode.

Nah, the original anime stretched out all of their roles in various ways.

But he's already in every episode! :lol

There's a very similar looking scene with Pride and Wrath in Episode 24.

Ahhh thanks, been trying to find it for a while. Scene is creepy. :lol

Heck tonight's final scene is looking back on it.

looks like we are going completely away from the original series. good episode though

- Pride er... Wrath is revealed to be a Homonculus(sp?) far earlier
- looks like Ed and Al's father is the creator of them (from his body). wonder what he wants
- so that would mean Izumi's son and Mother Elric won't be showing up
- the homonculus actually represent their sin now.
- Father seems to be interested in people who seen the truth. wonder why he doesn't want Ed

Yeah. They aren't around this time. The first series' Sloth and Wrath were original characters.

He does want Ed. Remember Laboratory 5? Lust said Ed was a human sacrifice.

Having just watched 57 - manly tears indeed.

I've noticed it before, but this was the first time where the 24-like "silent clock" commercial break stinger outtro thingie (whatever you call it :p) was pretty damn haunting... especially after the scream.

I'm sure it's because I have no attachment to the original, but this has become one of my favourite shows simply because when something happens, it really happens.

omg! I was going to wait until I could watch two in a row but I cracked :lol
Fu :/

Somehow I dont think I can read something like 18 volumes tomorrow at work!

Also is this coming to blu ray? if so what are the chances it will be blu ray with English subs?

Yes, Funimation is releasing it on Blu-ray. First portion gets released on May 25th. Japanese/English audio along with English subtitles.

another thing I noticed in the AS airing: they included a preview of the next episode. and there seemed to be less commercials. I guess they want to include as much of the ep as possible

Seems like it's not true HD though. Or, it is true HD, but Bones did some stuff to it to make it HD for broadcast.

The latest ep was damn EPIC.
Fu and Buccaneer died like BOSSES and Greed able to get Bradley in the head was awesome. The ending was cool too. Can't wait for the next ep.

I said wow
Amazon lists the Blu-Ray as being 325 minutes, but they have video previews for episodes 1-17 on the same page, all filed under "Season 1." I thought we were only getting 13 episodes; is that inaccurate?

It says "Part One: Episodes 1-13" on the cover. What more do you want?

For someone to help me out by preventing me from asking stupid questions from now on. ;___;

(That said, I just noticed that episodes 1-26 have previews available.)

So its going to be like 5 blu rays :/? why not just 30 on one and 30 on another or 20 20 20 ore whatever. 13 is laaaame

Edit: $40 are you shitting me!? that's like £35 ! Im not paying nearly £200 for it :(

FMA Brotherhood ep. 14

- Blood blood buckets of blood everywhere. :D

- Farewell Greed, you're definitely awesome.
See you again very soon!

- The extra bit with Bradley and Izumi, it's why I love the little touches that Bones adds, since it wasn't in the manga.

- And as I suspected, Father's dub voice is leagues better than his Japanese one... :lol

FMA Brotherhood ep. 57

- I salute you, Fu and Buccaneer, for being two of the most badass characters ever. Shed some manly tears for you guys.

- Wrath is still one of the best villains ever.

- And now we get to see Dr. Goldie... Derp.

- Extra bit with Roy and Riza, cute and always pegged Roy to be a knuckle-brawler for some weird reason...

- LOL at most of Roy's expressions during the fight against the Fuhrer candidates.

- Dr. Goldie sending Ed, Al and Izumi through the Gate...though well...they're only going to see Father downstairs anyways...

Next eps. are gonna be awesome (though 59 will be a bit rough).

I can't believe it has already caught up to it. I remember everyone spazzing out over it just three months ago in the manga thread:lol
Next episode should be awesome though...
Mustang, right :'(?

I know and it hasn't been too bad. I think they're spacing out the chapters really well right now.

Ep. 59 is about that so yep... :'(

Part of me is actually glad, as two weeks after the manga ends, we'll be able to see those parts animated as Brotherhood ends. :)

Oh and I totally called that Aaron would be Slave 23/
young Hohenheim

Wow, the way that they compressed the second opening is...not good. Oh well, it's not a big deal.

I've only seen the first BONES adaption of fullmetal alchemist and loved it even if most of it wasn't canon. Been waiting for brotherhood to end before I watched, but couldn't hold out any longer and watched up until episode 52... foolishly thought there were only 52 episodes, but pleasantly surprised nonetheless. Not familiar with the manga, but wow at how fast brotherhood series seems to move. Definitely one of my favorite series, and has a lot of well-animated scenes, especially love the homunculus battles.

My only disappointment in Brotherhood is
Lust's involvement. She was always my favorite homunculus, and one of the few female villains in a series who I thought actually really suited the evil role well. Really disappointed at how fast she dies in the real story. It's really the only thing so far which I prefer in the first adapation. That and I actually liked the other version of wrath better, but could just be the nostalgia talking.

^ Brotherhood is still BONES.

:lol The Funimation dub of opening 2 credits "Yui - Again" at the end of it. :lol :lol

I wish all Japanese-sung openings for dubs took a cue from Death Note and put the translated lyrics in one of the corners.

No, I realize! I meant first bones adaption implying this was the second. Sorry if it was worded wrong.

And did they really condense the second opening for brotherhood? I suppose it's better than playing Ready Go for the whole series though...

They're condensing all the openings and endings.

I'm really happy Let it Out wasn't horribly butchered but I'm curious how they'll do the episodes that play it before the ending starts.

This show finally clicked with me after tonights episode. I haven't been able to get into an anime series in years, but I do dig the hell out of this.

Gotta go back and catch all the episodes that I missed. I've only seen three or so (of Brotherhood) so I've got a bit of catching up to do :lol

Just looked it up, not as bad as I would expected. Still played my favorite part of the OP, can't find the second one though. Guess it just premiered tonight anyway?

Ep 14

I didn't like Ling or whatever. I hate characters who force the main characters to make them companions. hate it with a passion. so I doubt I will like him very much.

good episode otherwise. really interested in alchashey. and this expands on the other countries in a way the first series didn't. good, cause the first forgot they existed.

another change: Riza always had Black Hayate in this version? I liked how she got him in the original series when she shot him for peeing on the wall. :lol

and Riza is fucking hot with her hair down :D

FMA Brotherhood ep. 15

- I actually didn't mind Ling's vice, LanFan/RanFan & Fu's voices were alright, May's...ugh

- Always loved the bit with Riza and Barry... God Riza's hot with her hair down and love the 'easy-access' slit on her skirt.

- Yay for Black Hayate!

- Roy looks cool with the gun holster, too bad he doesn't wear it often.

- Is it me or does Yoki sound like a British butler?

- And love Scar wanting to pet Shao May... :lol

- Sucks for Ed & co. when they go back to Central
though it's when the story REALLY picks up. :D

FMA Brotherhood ep. 58

- Ah Greedling, you're growing leaps and bounds as a character :)

- See ya Bradley...until the next ep.

- Buccaneer & Fu. *salutes* Man tears were shed greatly.

- Really loved the moment when Ling was calling for medical alchemists to save Fu

- Not sure about the bitching, but to me, Greed's full carbon suit coloring looks the same...

- :lol about seeing Hohenheim's leg, hand, and head sticking out from Father...though eww about Father's current appearance.

- We have Ed, Izumi, Hohenheim, and Al (though technically Al's not quite there yet...) Who's left? :p

- Seriously, the attack on Riza seemed far more brutal than in the manga...and that was already pretty fucking brutal. :O Poor Roy...

Next ep.

The time has come....
Though, honestly, I am more excited for ep. 60... it will cover mine favourite mindblowing moment.
But isn't there a bit of discrepancy between how anime is progressing and that Bones blog a few weeks ago?
They said that ep 59 will cover chapter 104, but at current pace everything is pointing to it being one week later?
Still, 59

She got him that way in the manga too, they just left it out of brotherhood (was an omake as I recall).

Just FYI, Brotherhood really rushes through the first 30 chapters, slightly rushes through the next 10 chapters, handles chapters 40-56ish at a decent but accelerated pace, completely rushes through 57-62, adds about 1.5 eps of filler around this area, covers chapters 65-83 at a decent pace, and from 84 onwards, covers chapters at about a 1-1.25 chapters per episode pace.

Most of the good character development (and establishment, through various interactions and dialogue) in the series occurs in the first 65 chapters, particularly in chapters 1-35 and 57-62, so it is kind of disappointing that these are the segments brotherhood rushes through because they were either partially touched upon in the first anime or because they would take up too much screen time in the eyes of Bones. The greed arc in particular that occurs in eps 13 and 14 was heavily, heavily modified, with most of the dialogue and connections made between Al, Greed, and the chimeras omitted, Al's fight against the chimeras in the alley ways shortened, Bradley showing up at Devil's Nest with Armstrong and a large unit of soldiers was turned into a simple coincidence, and Ed and Izumi's movements (and Izumi's actions during the fight with Greed) were COMPLETELY altered from the manga during this plot.

There's also the matter of how the Ishval war is handled, but that's for another time. Just know that they took some liberties in condensing a lot of material related to character development and backstories.

Just finished episode 58. It was a pretty good episode overall, but I HATE the change they made in the last couple minutes.
I absolutely hate that Mustang agreed to do the human transmutation.

Naah, they just changed the cliffhanger moment (spoilers for manga / upcoming episode 59)
Haha, no, they just cut him off mid dialogue, where he says "I get it... I get it, lieutenant" or something to that effect, stopping it after the first "I get it" in this episode :p
