maaaaan, thats a goofy white kid...but he makes excellent music so yeah.

also, what is up with that show? it's sponsored by red bull, but it's like everyone has been chugging cough syrup and sleepy time tea.

its a music lecture series. surprisingly highbrow considering the source.

Be that as it may, a bit of energy wouldn't kill the show. Hell even something like Inside The Actor's Studio has some energy to it now and again.

2 full listens of B.O.B's EPIC Mixtape, If I had a top 20 mixtapes of the year it would definitely be in there. Very high quality release, could have easily been a album.

Oh I know, I'm only being half serious. But still, shit moves way too fast. I only just finished digesting that Doppelgangaz album (one of my top 5 fave releases this year) and now fucking The Roots leak, B.o.B. apparently dropped something worth listening to again, Juicy J is back at it again, and thats already on top of my huge ass backlog.
Not to mention the fact that I dabble in rock n roll anyway, got a buncha shit in that genre I been meaning to get to.

And I'm still waiting on that damn El-P + Killer Mike album. Fucking Killer Mike just sitting on it and shit, doesn't even mention it in his twitter. Pissin me off.

Okay... Undun might be giving Oneirology some competition for my #1....Blackthought is spitting something real, and the production...god the production is..i dont even know how to explain it, beautiful?

How I Got Over was my #1 for last year; I think I'll wait it out for the actual release of Undun. Besides I have the B.o.B tape to listen to, Radioactive and this Mayer Hawthorne stuff.

Common album and The Roots dropping an album at the end of the year? Motherfuckers waiting till the last minute.

This is a lot better than How I Got Over, IMO. Thats only after about 2 1/2 listens. Ill let it sink in for a bit, but, the track " I Remember " is just perfect.

Clams Casino interview by Noz (Cocaine Blunts). It's over an hour long and from the Red Bull Music Academy that took place this year:
http://vimeo.com/32616502

From the comfort of his New Jersey bedroom, 23-year-old producer Clams Casino turns out beats for a dizzying array of rappers like Lil B, Soulja Boy, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, and Havoc of Mobb Deep. His reverb-heavy, ethereal productions have earned him a cult following amongst the music blog community, and his recent instrumental release on the Tri Angle label has only solidified his status as one to watch in this omnipresent Internet age. In this sessions he talks beats, business, and his take on sound quality in the digital age, with Noz of Cocaine Blunts.

Shit I still need to fully digest:

Oneirology (only 1 full spin!)
Radioactive (haven't even listened to yet!)
EPIC (half a spin)

Then Common, Roots...man, shit does move too fast.

Skip all that and listen to the Hawthorne album. Smoove.
Will do, actually. It's the one I'm the most interested in honestly.

Shiiiiieeet. This doesn't make things easier. I'm liking the initial reviews here, but I can't ever doubt The Roots for quality.

How the hell do you get the "digital booklets" that come with Amazon MP3 albums?
They're usually with the album that you downloaded. It was in a folder in My Music named Amazon MP3.

Don't know what to do with this, found this on mixtapetorrent, had to post this because its just too ridiculous haha.

The Roots album is getting mixed reviews on SOHH...damn, I'm surprised and kind of scared to listen now. Apparently there's lots of singing on it

Not really. A few songs. But really fits the sound of the album. It is on a few hooks, but not much. "I Remember" probably has the most singing on the album, and it is by far the best song. The production and Blackthought is just perfect.

Its pretty awesome, I'm loving it- I will say I prob like their last release more, if only for The Fire. That track was too goddamn nice.

Im just feeling the production on this one a lot more. It is really refreshing. Feels kinda dirty, depressing, but so good.

Overall, I do like the vibe of the album, really raw sounding. Haven't really listened enough to fully digest the lyrics yet.

Raw was the word i was looking for. I really liked last years effort, but this is just a different direction and i really like it.
