Mac has like two songs i find tolerable. Im not much of a Danny fan, but i can find his work more enjoyable.

I don't even think we can be internet friends anymore

Yeah I know its not a popular opinion... I dunno he makes music thats catchy to me. Also, I gotta respect his hustle- he performs/tours a lot, is always on twitter, etc. Also, he didn't sell out on his album- he didn't get big name features when he could have, and the beats aren't that poppy sounding.

i cant LOL enough at Common trying to get this beef w/ Drake poppin.
damn you that desperate for some hype for your album?
motherfucker made Electric Circus (Badu mindfucked him, cause they never actually fucked) and is talkin shit about dude's singing and shit. miss me w/ that.

same w/ Pusha although he actually has a reason to be mad at Drake. i'd like to see them go at it.

Sheet. I went and copped an either of some boutique herbs and tried to roll it all in a rillo to burn while I watch it tonight. I didn't succeed though. About 3/4 made it in there.

I'm strapped in and ready to go. I'll post some impressions. Not that they could possibly be anything other than great.

Album is a real contender for my #1 after a few spins on the good speakers. People asked if Jeezy still had it in him, and all he did was drop his best record yet. They don't make em like this anymore. Which is weird to say because Young Jeezy still seems like a new rapper to me. /oldguy

I've been debating kicking WTT out the list, and knocking everything down a notch to make room for TM:103 over in the AOTY thread. This shit has been on repeat for a good minute now.

Just moved XXX into my top 10.

And cmon son mac miller is garbage, even if you dislike danny brown's transsexual adderall junkie detroit steez.

interesting question I have for all the white people in this thread, what do you replace the word N**ga with when around or talking to black people about hip hop? I usually just replace the word with Brothers lol

I'm not black, but not white either and i use it sparingly, like salt. I actually prefer to use "nuccah" or "nyukka" most of the time anyway, but my black friends from down south or in the midwest have never griefed me about using it... and if they do they just call me a sand n***a back

I am picking it up tomorrow. I heard the leak and gotta support Jeezy. The album is different from what I expected, in a good way.

It is. It's actually a lot more rounded than I expected. There's plenty of good dirty trap muzik on it, but he also successfully dips into some other sounds.

Jeezy seems old to me, plus, hes like 34. At some point you need to drop the "Young" part of your name. I think 30 is the cut-off for that.

The hate is strong in this one..

Haha, i actually liked his new album. I have been down on Jeezy until TM:103. It hits at a time that i want some ignorant music, but not Flocka/Gucci ignorant. I also been loving that new A$AP Rocky. I did great in school so i can let my mind dumb out for awhile.

I haven't actually talked to many black people about hip-hop, since most of them (my age) don't know much, but the older ones that I have talked to don't take offense if I say a title of a song with "Nigga" in it. They understand that I don't mean anything, and it's just a name.

Heh, among friends I/we say "Nick is". We were in the car and my music was playing on my iPhone, and I wanted to switch the song to Niggas in Paris, so I bring up Siri and say "Play 'Niggas in Paris'". Then, Siri spins for a few seconds, then interprets my speech and displays what I said as "Play 'Nick is in Paris'". Then she spins again, and even though she censored my speech to "Nick is", she goes ahead and says "Playing 'Niggas in Paris'." So yeah. Sort of dumb, but it was funny at the time.

How could you be down on The Recession? That album is awesome as hell.

It's still kind of weird for me to see you upping Jeezy, Blackace. I remember you trolling my Young Jeezy appreciation thread.

Yeah he had upped his game since he lost Gucci.. funny how that works..

I still think his pre-recession work is nursey rhyme bs.. but the beats cracked..

Also like Recon says.. how is it trollin to tell the truth?

I use the word, but to be honest it doesn't carry much weight here as an insult or anything. If I'm talking about song names, yea I'll say it, but it doesn't really have a place in my vocab.

On here I don't use it just out of respect. This is a multicultural place and if censoring it means people don't get offended then that's fine by me, I'll happily do that.

You made a Young Jeezy appreciation thread?

L of the year.

Jeezy is another rapper I'm secretly a fan of, but never will say I'm a fan of. I love all his shit, not because he is hood or real or any shit like that, just cause he knows how to deliver his raps better than most of the south. TM103 isn't a cohesive album and doesn't have as many bangers as y'all (or kams) make it sound like. Many of the songs are mediocre-to-I-just-listened-to-this. Recession was better, and RED is better than both.

Red is such a shitty album, I literally laughed out loud at that suggestion. I'd rather listen to The Recession with shitty iPod earbuds than Red with my DT770s

Okay I'm just catching up on this Common/Drake beef thing and just watched this interview talking about the shots he took at Drake. Is this seriously happening? SMH at this pillow fight. But really, I agree with Common on most of this, if you chose to get offended, your pretty much the kind of person he's talking about on Sweet anyways, as meh as the song is.

What about the Recession isn't shitty? 5 good songs, the rest is filler, Jeezy album status quo complete. RED is a similar case, just with more bangers.

RED had some good tracks, despite Game trying to fuck em up.

Martians vs Goblins
The City (Kendrick wins this one, but it was on the albums)
Ricky
Heavy Artlllery

...that's about it.

EDIT: Y'all got Common confused with somebody else. He's definitely not soft...mellow is different than soft. Getcha grown man on, you'll see what I mean.

This post is exactly how I feel.

I don't have a problem with Drake until he thinks he's greezy and begins acting like he runs shit. The shit talking raps, okay, but as soon as you open your mouth thinking your in a position of power for real, then I SMH. Even the "no comments" from Drake I respected, cause he knew his place at the time. At the same time, fuck legends who take shots at new cats.

I just hope Common wasn't doing this over his ex-girl. He's not above it though.

Common might have dropped Electric Circus, but "The Light" is infinitely better than half of the shit people croon nowadays. UMC was unacceptable though.

Sweet can be applied to the majority of rappers as of recent, including himself and most of Good Music.

Well i aint got no problem if the new cat is hip hop HIV. I aint got not problem with this... cause basically it sounds like Drake heard 'Sweet' and immediately thought it was about him. Highlighting not only his selfcenteredness and insecurity but the knowledge that deep down he is the bitchmade subject of this backlash against softness. Not Big Sean, not Ye, not even the Taio Cruzes and Trey Songzes of the world. Drake knows, in his soul, that even the legends whose music he listened to coming up like Luda and Common think he is a dainty little creampuff and a negative force in hip hop. bet that stings.

UMC didn't happen. I'm pretty sure that was Kanye with a phony beard and one of those bald caps Tom Cruise wore in Tropic Thunder. Oh, and one of Mase's old shiny suits.
